It will be multiple short phrases -
The text spoke about self-denial, hatred of sin, following Jesus, loving God above all, waiting for the Holy Spirit in response, the fruits of the Holy Spirit, the pure in heart seeing God, not all being His—needing to be more serious, sin no longer having power, and so on. This was base for me. I might forgot something.
The Bible teaches that every one of us have fallen into sin, and are unable to know God, or to live with Him after this life ends. And it teaches that Jesus gave His body in death as an offering that would rescue us from our spiritual death (that we cannot know God).
The Bible tells us that as many as receive Jesus, believing in His Name, that God gives them rebirth, not born from man, but born from God Himself. We are recreated, inside, and are new people.
It's not that we learn the right things, or get more serious about our lives, or any of these things. Being dead in sin, we need to agree with God about our condition, because He's telling us the truth. We have to accept that truth, that we need Him, or we are lost. But if we believe His promise to rescue us from this death, and that we can live forever with Him, and we want to let go of all that's in this world, except what He chooses to give us, so we can know Him and be with Him, He gives a new live that flows from His own being.
Much love!
