1 John 1: 8. If we (including himself) claim we have (present tense active) no sin we deceive ourselves and there is no truth in us
I wouldn't say "WE" and add "ACTIVE".
"WE (converted) HAVE" sin...agree.
It is FORGIVEN "and" COVERED sin.
ROM 4:
[
7] Saying, Blessed are they whose iniquities are forgiven, and whose sins "are"
covered.
The Covering (in a converted person), IS expressly God Spirit, which IS PURE LIGHT, with-IN the person, that no darkness (sin), can be seen. Not seen or remembered BY GOD.
HEB 8:
[
12] For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their iniquities will I remember no more.
The understanding of Gods Forgiveness, IS freeing a (converted) person FROM SIN...
From sinning, From the penalities of sin.
Sin is Against God.
A converted man has been Freed, by Gods Forgiveness, that that man Can Never Again Stand Against (sin) God.
ROM 6:
[
18] Being then
made free from sin, ye became the servants of righteousness.
IF, the Lord God is IN you, He IS WITH YOU, and you IN Him and you WITH Him.
IF, A man is NOT "WITH" the Lord God...
That man IS AGAINST GOD.
(THAT man is, in "ACTIVE SIN"). <--- THAT does NOT apply to the Converted.
Matt 12:
[
30]
He that is not with me is against me; and he that gathereth not with me scattereth abroad.
Luke.11
[
23]
He that is not with me is against me: and he that gathereth not with me scattereth.
