MIXTURE IN THE CHURCH

Somebody on another thread recently said they don't go to church any longer because of mixture. So I thought I would start this thread.

Many problems in the church today are caused by ‘mixture’ which undermines not only the word of God but God’s authority and sovereignty.

In the Old Testament there are many descriptions of how God’s people turned to worshipping other gods and idols made of base materials by human hands and his subsequent punishment of such behaviour.

It has been shown to me that these people had not entirely abandoned God, the Holy One of Israel, but that they had taken up these other gods AS WELL AS Almighty God. This is where the ‘Mixture, comes in. It waters down peoples’ perspective of God and distracts from his power and authority.

People have become dissatisfied with JUST one true God, they desire the other gods as well and in turn these other gods begin to become more important to them than God himself.

By far the biggest god of this sort in today’s world is SELF and especially pride when people think they know better than God. The proposed redefinement of marriage and the appointing of gay bishops are just two examples.

The Church needs to get back to serving only One True God and to root out anything that that smacks of ‘mixture’.

As I have recently heard at least three different preachers speak on this subject in the last couple of months, I think it is a ‘now’ word of God to the church.

Thank you for sharing your thoughts, @Pearl. I mentioned mixture in the churches and by that, I meant anything from mixing pagan celebrations, to the actual cult involvement ...to making the church more of a social club where no Word is taught, or some feel-good version of God is taught. It's sickening.

No one wants to hear that Christ said we will have tribulation in this world and that if we want to reign with Him, we must be willing to suffer with Him. No one wants to suffer ....just tell me what I want to hear. There is a famine of the Word, and people are not spiritually equipped for what is coming.

I pray that it is a now word and a message that is is getting out to the church from God, because the church at large needs it badly and we hope the Lord may move to yet open the eyes of more souls.

"Touch not the unclean thing" in both old and new testaments means we are not to be party to mixture. When what is unclean touches what is clean it makes the clean unclean, not the other way around. Jesus said no man can serve two masters.......it leads to "hating" the true one. Paul wrote that we can't eat both the table of the Lord and the table of demons. Elijah the prophet challenged Israel in her apostasy, "how long will ye halt between two opinions, either the Lord is God or Baal"...Israel was trying to serve both at the same time, serving two masters and eating from the table of both. Baal and Mammon I take to be speaking of the god of this world and self, as opposed to the Lord.

I hope these scriptures will be of help with this topic as the Lord was gracious to open my eyes:

Mat 6:22-24

The light of the body is the eye: if therefore thine eye be SINGLE, thy whole body shall be full of light.

But if thine eye be evil, thy whole body shall be full of darkness. If therefore the light that is in thee be darkness, how great is that darkness!

No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.



1Co 10:20-22

Rather, that the things which the Gentiles sacrifice they sacrifice to demons and not to God, and I do not want you to have fellowship with demons.

You cannot drink the cup of the Lord and the cup of demons; you cannot partake of the Lord’s table and of the table of demons.

Or do we provoke the Lord to jealousy? Are we stronger than He?



2Co 6:14-17

Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness?

And what concord hath Christ with Belial? or what part hath he that believeth with an infidel?

And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people.

Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you,

Moreover the soul that shall touch any unclean thing, as the uncleanness of man, or any unclean beast, or any abominable unclean thing, and eat of the flesh of the sacrifice of peace offerings, which pertain unto the LORD, even that soul shall be cut off from his people.



Deu 23:14

For the LORD thy God walketh in the midst of thy camp, to deliver thee, and to give up thine enemies before thee; therefore shall thy camp be holy: that he see no unclean thing in thee, and turn away from thee.



Isa 52:11

Depart ye, depart ye, go ye out from thence, touch no unclean thing; go ye out of the midst of her; be ye clean, that bear the vessels of the LORD.



Rev 18:2-5

And he cried mightily with a strong voice, saying, Babylon the great is fallen, is fallen, and is become the habitation of devils, and the hold of every foul spirit, and a cage of every unclean and hateful bird.

For all nations have drunk of the wine of the wrath of her fornication, and the kings of the earth have committed fornication with her, and the merchants of the earth are waxed rich through the abundance of her delicacies.

And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues.

For her sins have reached unto heaven, and God hath remembered her iniquities.

As we see the prophet speaking the words of GOD to those who both hollered the name of GOD and served baal .
After warning and warning them
the words get said , IF YOU wanna go and serve baal then Go serve him , BUT KEEP MY NAME OUT OF IT .
That is the one thing God cannot stand is when folks use HIM and also serve other gods and pratices .
Being in the middle , being lukewarm . Its time this people repents .

As we see the prophet speaking the words of GOD to those who both hollered the name of GOD and served baal .
After warning and warning them
the words get said , IF YOU wanna go and serve baal then Go serve him , BUT KEEP MY NAME OUT OF IT .
That is the one thing God cannot stand is when folks use HIM and also serve other gods and pratices .

I totally agree, and that's why I don't go to church meetings any longer; that and the fact that it all just seems to go round in circles.

No one wants to hear that Christ said we will have tribulation in this world and that if we want to reign with Him, we must be willing to suffer with Him. I totally agree, and that's why I don't go to church meetings any longer; that and the fact that it all just seems to go round in circles.


Amos 8:11

Amen. Me too.... it seems to be a life or death necessity these days....."let us therefore go to Him outside the camp".
