Dead Works lead to Hell.

Works have nothing to do with "going to Hell" or not.

Here is the thing about "works".

An unbeliever can do the same "works", as a Christian.

"works' are not involved with becoming a Christian to begin with...., and "works" are not related to remaining one.

"works" are just works".

Hell is filled with water baptized religious people who did a lot of "works".

What is that?

= RELIGION.

Ephesians chapter 4
These works mabey religious in nature, but they are Dead in that they can't bring spiritual life.

False brethren distort God's word, and cause division. Any seeds planted won't give spiritual growth.
Dead Works are sinful acts.

John chapter 15.

Jesus is the vine. Christian people are branches. A branch that doesn't bear no fruit, is cut off.
Bad fruit
Dead Works

15:6
If you don't remain in me, you are like a branch to that is thrown away , and withers, such branches are picked up, and thrown into the fire, and burned.

False brethren have date with lake of fire on judgement Day. Sheol is holding place for the wicked until judgment Day.

The bible says that the rich are evil
It says evil does no good
It says the rich people donate to charity
It says donating to charity is good

That means rich people are doing good by donating to charity even though rich people are evil who don't do good
This is no error. You will have rich people who love money and rich people who give till it hurts and couldnt care if they lose it all tomorrow

Gods view of ' good works' isaiah6:
All of us have become like one who is unclean,
and all our righteous acts are like filthy rags;
we all shrivel up like a leaf,
and like the wind our sins sweep us away

God is not impressed by how ' good ' we think we are, but he requires that we trust/believe in Jesus.
Good works are merely a gesture of love on our part.

Lol.

The bible says that if something helps u sin less it must be good. Donating to the poor helps everyone sin less. How is that not good?

If it helps u do good it is good. Donating helps make good happen. When a person chooses not to kill someone, that is not bad. That is good.
If your philosophy is correct, and that’s all it is, it is nothing to do with the Bible

So let’s play this little game that you’re playing

Imagine you give your money to charity, and all these people that get it are evil

Would that make the rich guy evil?
In someways, he would be responsible

And when you talk about kill, are you referring to murder or are you referring to self Defense?

I don’t know you, but you sound like a teenager and I’ve had these talks when I was 18 years old

That's how I understand it. Works have nothing to do with salvation because salvation is a free gift.

What works are for and what they do is...they help Jesus to determine what our station in heaven will be. We know there is rank in heaven because there are several different types of beings and Angels there. Some are higher in rank and are over others, like Arch Angels for instance. That proves that there is rank in heaven.

So what about works? The amount of works done and that they were done with a pure heart of wanting to help someone else determines what our rank will be in heaven. Some shall be called the least in heaven is what scripture says. Do you want to be the least in heaven? I dont. I was a plumber and HVAC guy here in this life (so far!) and, I dont wanna be the plumber in heaven again! I want a desk job, lol. SO if I dont wanna be the plumber then I better get busy with good works. Help that homeless man, mow the old lady's grass that lives next door (For Free!) Just to be nice. Treat them the way that you would want treated if you were in their shoes. So instead of giving the homeless panhandler $5 (Lol you cant even eat for $5 anymore!) give him $20, or $30. (some people say he's prolly alcoholic and will spend it on liquor so dont give him none. I use to use that excuse, but mewsflash, even alcoholics eat every day like you and me)

The reason that Jesus said the old woman who gave 2 pennies into the pot gave more than the rich guys was because she gave out of her sustenance and the rich guy gave out of his excess! That was her food money! She still hadnt paid her Electric bill! (sic), but the rich guy gave out of his profits and not his bill money. He had already went to the store for supplies. So since she gave out of her bill money and trusted God to take care of her, it was counted as more than what the rich guy gave.

And the bible never says that the rich only do evil, it says it is harder for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than to enter heaven. But!! Is anything too hard for God? So Solomon was the richest guy in the world and he will be in heaven. Jesus said to the rich guy, sell all you have and give it to the poor...and the rich guy went away bummed out and didnt do it.

I live in poverty. Well below the poverty line of income. And I dont miss any meals, my electric dont get shut off. I own my own house free and clear. I have no morgatage payment, only electric, gas, utuilities and phome & internet. Now I'm not ready yet to sell it all off and give it to the poor...(Lord help my unbelief!). But I give from my sustenance and I wind up being short every month. It's like a big juggling act. But when I started piecing all this together I realized the old adage, it's better to give than to receive started making sense to me. I noticed years ago that it's always been like that. I've had mucho shut off notices, but it dont get shut off, something always happens at the last minute, and that is the Lord. The only people who get their electric shut off are druggies and alcoholics who had the money but squandered it. God takes care of everyone. But he wants to teach us delayed gratification and see us endure our faith until the end. So the good deeds you do on earth will translate into a better life in heaven. Better robes, bigger mansion, and all that! Notwithstanding that those things dont mean squat for it is not our true reward, which is to dwell in the very presence of God, which is a great feeling I bet! WHo cares if I'm the plumber again, lol I could have a shack on the outskirts of town and be happy there with the Lord!

I have a friend I met online and he is a Brother in Christ. He's married with children and all that. Buying a house dadada. They were running short one month and were going to be late on their mortagate payment. That's bad cuz that always comes with extra fees and all that crap. So him and his wife had been praying about Lord help us meet our payment please!

Suddenly his phone started ringing off the hook with work for him! Easy work that was profitable!

Praise the Lord! Right? Now he can sell off some of that stuff and make his payment on time and stay away from extra fees. His Wife was so happy! She had been worried, you know how wives are, lol. She was praising the Lord all over the house! Prayer answered! Glory to God Forever! (I know that feeling!) WHo dont like answered prayers, am I right?!

Except God works in mysterious ways. He still had a couple weeks before the payment was due so he was working like mad and gathering together his house payment money and he's on his way home one day...and his phone rings. Another friend of his who used to very close to him called and said he needed help. Can you help me, I'm in a tight spot? And he thought about his money that he had already put together and it wasnt enough (so far at least) and he was sort of in his own tight spot this month! So he told his friend that he was sort of short and let him sleep on it, pray on it, and talk to his wife (Yikes!) to see if they could at least help him some. He said he knew intuitively that if he helped his friend then it would leave him quite a bit short for his own payment! Nevertheless, he wanted to be able to help his friend.

He went home and talked to his wife and told her that so and so needs help. She hit the roof! We can't afford it, we're short as it is blahblahblah! So my brother in Christ buddy was between a rock and a hard place, lol. And he prayed about it and IIRC he said all he got for an answer was, trust in the Lord...

He knew in his heart what he should do, but that would make him short on his payment and stir up his Wife against him. He said he felt all alone sort of, lol. He was pondering it and thought about how scripture says dont turn someone away who needs something...and, when you do your tithes and offerings dont let your left hand know what the right hand is doing...what the heck does that even mean!

Ohhhh....that must mean his Wife he thought! So my Bro went behind his Wifes back and helped the guy who needed it, and even was able to give him all that he needed. But he would be in the doghouse at home! That dont matter, he would be obeying the Lord and Trustinging in the Lord to make it all ok! This is one of those times where a man has to lead and obey the Lord even more than his Wife. She hit the roof when he told her. (That was our Bill money!)

So all he had left to do was cling to the Lord and try to calm his wife to have faith in the Lord. (He already answered our prayer blahblahblah). Wow!

Then about 10 days from when the payment was due, a different friend of his came over and said he was moving to a different state and couldnt ake everything with him. He was in some sort of business and had a building full of equipment and stuff that he had to leave behind or give away because he had no time to sell it off. So he asked if he wanted all this stuff, all he had to do was come haul it away or whatever.

And the value of the amount that all that equipment was worth mucho more than his payment was that was due! So the Lord answered his prayer for him in a big way and he had plenty of time to sell off enough of it to make his payment on time! Praise the Lord indeed!

That got him out of hot water with his Wife too! (Praise the Lord!). That's such an awesome testimony I just had to share it and I think it illustrates about the topic of giving and works and so forth.

You're telling some beautiful stories MA but it must be said that God does not desire that a person does anything hidden from their spouse.

This creates problems within the home. A husband is supposed to protect his wife and care for her, not do things behind her back. No wonder there are so many divorces these days.
God hates divorce.

RJ.....Amen!..he was obedient to the Lord in that instance, even though she hit the roof, he explained to her,.......,I’m sure,........ that he must be obedient to the Lord.

As a wife , who puts the Lord first in every situation, then she would have understood this..because she would be at the same level of understanding in that area.......imo.

An example, a friend of mine , advised me in an area of my life, ( she’s not a believer) I said thank you to her and will think about it, ....well, of course I took it straight to the Lord, the advice she gave me didn’t feel right in my spirit, anyway, long story short, I explained everything to her last night, of course I thanked her for her advice , was able to explain about my relationship with Jesus, she knows that I’m Born Again,.....that I had to take her advice to God in prayer, then explained that it didn’t feel right, I also explained the reasons behind the decision......she was absolutely fine about it .....it’s all about communication......that’s what God has been teaching me, the right way to communicate, as you well know it takes “ time” to communicate....there was no communication in my time with my family, hence God teaching me communication skills...so important for a healthy marriage/ relationship/ friendship...

Just my thoughts, Brother.

You're prolly right Sister, but that's what I thought because if there is a disagreement between God and Wife thrn the msn has a greater duty to God than he does his Wife. He didnt lie to his wife about it, just went and did it without her blessing and told her after the fact.

I used to pay tithes behind my Wife's back. She would get angry if I tried to put a buck in the offering plate! Said she dont want to be the one making payments on the Pastors Cadillac, lol. A Dollar? Wow. I didnt even discuss it with her when I began paying tithes & offerings behind her back. That's picking a fight and I like it peaceful.

And it did not create problems in the home. It solved one, lol. Money was tight and she knew it and was willing to stand up for hers. Nut I was frying bigger fish than obeying my worrysome wife. Could we afford it? Of course not. But scripture said pay your tithes and test me on this to see if I wont open the floodgates of heaven in blessings upon you...So I did it and tested Him about it. Want to know what I found out? I found out that we couldnt Not afford it! It all came back and more, so I solved a problem instead of creating one if you think about it.

I should have known that I'd get called out on that by some girls, lol. I think he didnt tell her until after he had been given all that equipment. Then when she could see the money value in the equipment that he was given then she was praising God for it!

Now his Wife was a Christian girl so it wasnt that bad for him. But my Wife was raised a catholic so we didnt see eye to eye about God at all. I made a mistake marrying a an unequally yoked girl. Hindsight is 20/20!

Here's something that might come in useful at some point in life....
The number one glue that holds two persons together is trust.
When trust is lost....all the other qualities are affected in a negative way.

Ephesians teaches that a man is to love his wife as he loves his own body.
Would you be dishonest to your own body?
I don't think you would.

Neither should you be distrustful to your own wife...
the person that is supposed to share life with you until death do you part.
This will not be accomplished by "doing things behind her back".

I won't have much else to say about this since we all must live our lives
the best way that we see fit. Apparently you have chosen a way that allows you to lie to the very
person that should trust you and that you should trust in return.

The bible says that the rich are evil
It says evil does no good
It says the rich people donate to charity
It says donating to charity is good

That means rich people are doing good by donating to charity even though rich people are evil who don't do good
I saw a great meme yesterday that clarified this. We are told it is the rich who are evil, implying the poor are automatically NOT evil. The diagram drew a vertical line. While the horizontal line divided rich from poor, the vertical line divided those who seek to use government to control others. They are the true enemy, the true evil ones.

Behold, every now and then my screen falls on one of your posts.
I do want to comment on the above.

Works never saved anyone.
Agreed.

The problem that is apparent in your posts, and the posts of some others,
is that you state works are NEVER necessary.

Unfortunately for this type of poster, the bible does not teach that works are unnecessary...
It teaches that they are.

Please could you just reply to the following:
What do you think it means that Jesus said to pick up our cross daily and follow Him?
Luke 9:23

What do you think Jesus meant when he preached that the wise man would hear His voice and act on Jesus' words.
What words?
What was Jesus teachings?
Matthew 7:24

What does it mean when Jesus states that a good tree will produce good fruit?
What IS the good fruit?
Matthew 7:17

And what did Jesus mean when He said the tree that DOES NOT bear good fruit would be cut down?
Matthew 7:19

And please comment on
John 5:28-29
28“Do not marvel at this; for an hour is coming, in which all who are in the tombs will hear His voice,
29and will come forth; those who did the good deeds to a resurrection of life, those who committed the evil deeds to a resurrection of judgment.

That's Jesus speaking.
Do you think He was wrong?

Could you post some verses that support your view that good works are NOT necessary?

I dont think that my friend distrusted his wife. He knew his wife and the fight that it would bring on. She still got to know all about it, but it was after the fact because he was being the leader of the house and decided to tell her later rather than sooner (and pray pray pray that God will make it ok!)

I didnt distrust my wife either even though (I knew she was a liar, lol) I did tithes & offerings behind her back. It wasnt anything against her, it was just, something that I wanted to do and I knew she would want to fight about it. But I seen the money getting thin and the economy sliding down and I knew I had to do something and it was more important than fighting with her over money. Me Likey Peace at home! Actually, I dont think I ever did tell her that what I did. But I'm here to tel you that it worked and God certainly stood behind His Word in my slow business time of the year!

So it was out of our bill money and that made it better I think. We needed that money and I was the man responsible for sustaining my family's present lifestyle. And it worked! God is Faithful!

You see, she was the secretary/office girl/bookkeeper and I went to the customers houses to do the work on their furnace or A/C or plumbing, gas lines all of that stuff. And I was COD so I'd cash the check on the way home and drop by the church to make my offering. It was cool, they had wooden lockboxes set up everywhere so I could just stop bye on my way home and put it in the box by the front door. Then go home and hand her a fistful of cash, the rest of it and I guess that was enough for her, lol. But she was good with numbers and bookkeeping so I trusted her in that.
I gave that little girl too much cash, but I just wanted to be married and have a family, so money was just a means to an end. Take it. She paid the bills and spent the rest. I sould have been squirreling more away. I spoiled her.

I have no further comment MA.

Titus 3
King James Version
3 Put them in mind to be subject to principalities and powers, to obey magistrates, to be ready to every good work,

2 To speak evil of no man, to be no brawlers, but gentle, shewing all meekness unto all men.

3 For we ourselves also were sometimes foolish, disobedient, deceived, serving divers lusts and pleasures, living in malice and envy, hateful, and hating one another.

4 But after that the kindness and love of God our Saviour toward man appeared,

5 Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost;

6 Which he shed on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Saviour;

7 That being justified by his grace, we should be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life.

8 This is a faithful saying, and these things I will that thou affirm constantly, that they which have believed in God might be careful to maintain good works. These things are good and profitable unto men.

9 But avoid foolish questions, and genealogies, and contentions, and strivings about the law; for they are unprofitable and vain.

10 A man that is an heretick after the first and second admonition reject;

11 Knowing that he that is such is subverted, and sinneth, being condemned of himself.

12 When I shall send Artemas unto thee, or Tychicus, be diligent to come unto me to Nicopolis: for I have determined there to winter.

13 Bring Zenas the lawyer and Apollos on their journey diligently, that nothing be wanting unto them.

14 And let our's also learn to maintain good works for necessary uses, that they be not unfruitful.

15 All that are with me salute thee. Greet them that love us in the faith. Grace be with you all. Amen.
