[Rev 2:8 KJV] 8 And unto the angel of the church in Smyrna write; These things saith the first and the last, which was dead, and is alive;
Christ is the first and last
[Rev 2:9 KJV] 9 I know thy works, and tribulation, and poverty, (but thou art rich) and [I know] the blasphemy of them which say they are Jews, and are not, but [are] the synagogue of Satan.
Jesus said he knew their works:
[Heb 10:24 KJV] 24 And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works:
[Jas 2:14 KJV] 14 What [doth it] profit, my brethren, though a man say he hath faith, and have not works? can faith save him?
Israel was to have works.
Jesus said he knew their tribulation:
[Mat 24:21 KJV] 21 For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be.
Israel was to face great tribulation.
Jesus said he knew their poverty:
[Act 2:45 KJV] 45 And sold their possessions and goods, and parted them to all [men], as every man had need.
The Jews were poor because they sold their possessions in preparation for the coming tribulation, when they could not buy or sell under the Antichrist.
Jesus said he knew the blasphemy of them which say they are Jews, and are not, but [are] the synagogue of Satan.
It can be seen that the Jews are the recipients of this letter, and not all Jews are true Jews (Romans 2:29).
