One way to tell if you've been chipped, especially if you have s great rapport with you're veterinarian, is to go in and ask them to do a chop scan of your jaw. Or, for those who have been "vaccinated", that spot where you received the injection.
My dog is microchipped. She got lost once, and I found her because someone took her to their nearest vet.
All my owner info came up when the vet office scanned her back, usually near the shoulder blades, and found the chip implant.
If you're chipped, that scanner, it's a portable wand like device, should register the frequency. Or they can adjust the scanner yo find the frequency.
If the chip is there, the scanner screen should show what information is logged.
Our current drivers licenses are like that too.
Some have a magnetic strip on the back, like credit cards have. Others have a block on the back that looks like a rectangular QRCode.
These strips link to a database that has all your personal info. God knows what else could be on that file.
Library cards are like that too. In their case when you use them to check out a flagged book, lets say it's The Turner Diaries, that flagged book is filed on your library Patton history.
New cars are traceable too. I know many of the local LEO's.
They don't even have to stop your car anymore to check your registration info.
They can pull behind you and access the computer in your car to find your information. Registration, insurance, name, address, etc...
One LEO we know pulled over a car that had no tag. First words out of the guys mouth when asked told he was being cited for an expired registration, and the car was being towed, was to ask how did the officer know that when the tag was off the car? lol
Three years expired. Goodness, why are you pulling me over. No insurance either of course.

Real costly mistake.
Anyway, if it were me I'd go to the vet for a scan.:)
Pretend I'm a Chihuahua doc.;)
Personal privacy is more and more entering the realm of myth.
