God's Holy Writ was given by and through The Holy Spirit, so the true cloven tongue spoken on Pentecost is not going to ever... contradict God's Holy Writ, for that would be The Holy Spirit contradicting Himself.
Yet that's exactly what some do when they interpret one speaking in tongues with attaching the Pre-trib rapture idea to it with saying it means to be ready to be raptured prior to the tribulation. That was the same exact kind of working that was going on in the Edward Irving church in 1830's Britain which John Darby himself even later disavowed himself from.
All those I personally know that speak in tongues hold to a Pre-trib rapture idea, with only one friend that has doubts, though he still attends a Church that preaches the 1830's Pre-trib rapture idea. The following is what I explained to him, and now explain to those who claim to speak in the cloven tongue of Pentecost...
Mark 13:9-13
9 But take heed to yourselves: for they shall deliver you up to councils; and in the synagogues ye shall be beaten: and ye shall be brought before rulers and kings for My sake, for a testimony against them.
10 And the gospel must first be published among all nations.
11 But when they shall lead you, and deliver you up,
take no thought beforehand what ye shall speak, neither do ye premeditate: but whatsoever shall be given you in that hour, that speak ye: for it is not ye that speak, but the Holy Ghost.
12 Now the brother shall betray the brother to death, and the father the son; and children shall rise up against their parents, and shall cause them to be put to death.
13 And ye shall be hated of all men for My name's sake: but he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.
(KJV)
That above is our Lord Jesus' Message to His servants for DURING the great tribulation time He taught in His Olivet Discourse while upon the Mount of Olives with His disciples. It is specifically linked to events of the 5th Seal of Revelation 6. It's part of the 7 signs of the end He was giving them, and us, there while upon the Mount of Olives, the very area on earth where His prophesied return is to be per Zech.14 and Acts 1.
One of the duties for some of His servants
for during... the tribulation, is to be delivered up to councils and synagogues for Christ's sake, in order TO GIVE A TESTIMONY against His enemies.
Our Lord Jesus was very specific for those to not premeditate what they are going to say in that hour, but to speak what The Holy Spirit gives to say, for it will be The Holy Spirit speaking, giving a testimony against His enemies.
THAT is what the TRUE cloven tongue in the end times is really for.
God is going to SPEAK through His servants against His enemies, during what time again? DURING the great tribulation!
So how is it, many who claim to speak the cloven tongue are so busy believing they are supposed to be 'raptured' PRIOR to that very tribulation??? How will they fulfill that duty for Christ if they are not present during the tribulation? Holy Writ is very clear that His Church is going to be here on earth to go through the great tribulation our Lord Jesus warned of in Matt.24, simply because of this delivering up event, and the time of Christ's coming and our gathering after... that tribulation, as written there.
What this suggests, is that there also is a fake tongues manifesting among some Churches today. And proof of that is how the fake one is leading some of Christ's servants away... from that very duty for the tribulation that God has ordained His cloven tongue to be used for!
A Warning:
An old method of pagan worship to get another spriit rolling among the crowd used repetitive drums and chants, over and over, burning of incense, use of mystical paraphenallia and mysterious incantations of ancient words, all to drive the people's emotions up to induce spirits to manifest among them. This was one of the most ancient uses of musical instruments in religious worship. It's why some Christian Churches don't allow musical instruments to be used during their Church service.
I don't know about them, but no matter, it has nothing to do with scriptures.
(Luk 17:20) And when he was demanded of the Pharisees, when the kingdom of God should come, he answered them and said, The kingdom of God cometh not with observation:
(Luk 17:21)
Neither shall they say, Lo here! or, lo there! for, behold, the kingdom of God is within you.
The Kingdom Comes only as Jesus brought/brings it into us, as by His Word. When we receive the Holy Spirit of Jesus Christ Come into us, the Kingdom of God is in US. Nobody teaches this ultimate truth hardly anymore. WE are the "earth" or "land" into which the Kingdom has come. Read Heb 11 for instance. The "heavenly country" is a "building" of God. It is the "rasising" of the Temple Body from the dead. It is all about being baptized by water and the Holy Spirit and living the resurrection Life of Christ in us NOW. It isn't a futuristic thing to happen on the 'planet' lol.
This is HOW the Kingdom of God "Comes";
(Luk 13:20) And again he said, Whereunto shall I liken the kingdom of God?
(Luk 13:21) It is like leaven, which a woman took and hid in three measures of meal, till the whole was leavened.
There you go :) This is what the Kingdom of God is all about. Where, when, how... and it is IN US in righteousness joy and peace in the Holy Spirit.
(Rom 14:17) For the kingdom of God is not meat and drink; but righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost.
And another place Jesus says quite plainly that His Kingdom is "not of this world" (contrary to what "christians" now teach);
(Joh 18:36) Jesus answered, My kingdom is not of this world: if my kingdom were of this world, then would my servants fight, that I should not be delivered to the Jews: but now is my kingdom not from hence.
So there we have it perfectly established that the Kingdom of God is not of this world, doesn't come by "observation", and isn't in some particular "place" on the planet. Also, we have established that the Kingdom of God grows within us as the parable shows, and is ONLY within us, and is NOW. Not some "place" else or some "time" else. Peace
Try that kind of interpretation with what Peter taught in 2 Peter 3 about the new heavens and a new earth.
