I love Christmas but I also recognize that it is largely celebrated in a "worldly" way. Even most Christians entirely ignore or give little regard to the birth of Jesus when celebrating "Christmas" and I've been one of them.

Should we celebrate it all? If so, how please? Thanks in advance.

I guess it depends on whether we believe we are instructed to celebrate his birth, Jesus tells us what to remember. I have never been convinced as a Christian that Christmas is a biblical celebration, certainly not the way it has evolved over the years. I celebrate it, but accept that it is mostly a pagan and commercial event now. I grew up in a non Christian environment and for me personally it has always had emotional roots with my childhood and the memories I have, now it is a time I spend with my own family - with gratitude for all of them.
I have never found a good balance with Christmas and my faith - but that’s just me xx

I love Christmas, too. Put up a small tree on my plant stand to enjoy the lights...we had big trees when I was a child.

Even though it has become commercial, it's still good that Christ is remembered each year. Even people hearing the words to some Christmas carols in the stores might plant seeds about Christ.

It can be a time when you can invite someone to church for a Christmas service. When I was a child, our youth choir from church would go out caroling in the neighborhood. We would do a nativity scene performance, too.

In my older years, my mom and I enjoyed going to Midnight Candlelight Service with Scripture readings and carols. After the service, we'd all sing carols in front of the church with candles.

Other years we went to The Messiah by Handel at another church, but the Candlelight Services were my favorite.

I always sent out Christmas cards. You can find lovely cards with a message at Christian Book .com.

Nice post. Thanks for sharing.

My kids are grown but we'd do Christmas a bit different if we had it to do over again. Of course, I wasn't nearly as close to God back in those days.

Yes, there is the side of Christmas where many go to church ect
I think it’s on a personal level that I cannot equate or get the right balance - many find it a very spiritual time. I feel there are so many people under so much pressure to conform to send cards, give gifts and eat and be merry. I don’t send that many cards now ( price of stamps over here has gone up so much ) I love the house being lit up with the tree and lights ect. I use to love ‘ Carols by candlelight ‘ services at the local church.
Inside the emotional link is to the ‘ good old days ‘ when we use to be at home, mum and dad and family, snow was falling. Christmas music ( not hymns ) were playing mum filling the house with love,y food on Christmas Eve ( by far my favourite day - it’s now my grand daughters birthday - that year was wonderful when she was born as we had four generations at my home and I was divorced, so had a sense of freedom from a difficult marriage )

The birth of Christ Jesus was a hope and life for the earth. Mankind away from some of the ideas at the time of Christ's life were given this new hope in God the Father's Son. God the Father is King of the realms of heaven and earth and such, Jesus his son is Lord. They, together with the Holy Ghost are "God". Some of them at the time of Christ's life here on earth did not believe in life after death. Jesus with his Father and the Holy Ghost conquered death, and sent it away and brought the God of life into Jesus' body. He became the first to be resurrected and is alive forever more. He offers life to us "Christians". And the life he offers us is eternal which means it never ends.

The manger scene is wonderful for celebrating our God and Lord, Jesus the Christ, it also celebrates The Father and the Holy Ghost as they both honored him as well. The Holy Ghost was seen at his baptism and the Father supplied miracles for him as a witness to the God of Life. Together all three, The Father, Son and Holy Ghost are the "God of Life".

Here is a manger scene, where Jesus received a humble birth, and it can bring tears and joy to the hearts of Christians:

We should celebrate Jesus's birth, Christmas at church. where else would one celebrate it!

The whole litany of church services building up to Christmas are a means of getting non christians into a church and to hear a gospel message.
Many non christians will attend a carol concert, a youth concert, nativity service and even a Christmas day service.
These are non threatening events, that most people have some familiarity with, they are an opportunity of church members to invite and to talk to non church people and a chance for the minister to present the gospel in a simple format.

People are familiar with the baby in a manger, at Christmas it can be explained that Jesus didn't stay as a baby.
