How do you reconcile "the gates of Hell will NOT prevail" with Satan supposedly taking most of mankind to Hell with him?

Hello @Patrick1966,

It would seem that God set up a predestined people whom did not doubt, and did not waver, that were pure and blameless, above and beyond measure, which to me (personally) are all from the tribes of Israel (maybe some gentiles in there) - which were of faith. Before the end of the Age, and hell did not prevail, because it was done away with, along with Satan, and the false prophet, and the beast, and his angels.

That would be my thoughts to that question.

All the best,
Matthew

John 6:65 ESV
And he said, “This is why I told you that no one can come to me unless it is granted him by the Father".
35 And Jesus said to them, “I am the bread of life. He who comes to Me shall never hunger, and he who believes in Me shall never thirst. 36 But I said to you that you have seen Me and yet do not believe. 37 All that the Father gives Me will come to Me, and the one who comes to Me I will by no means cast out. 38 For I have come down from heaven, not to do My own will, but the will of Him who sent Me. 39 This is the will of the Father who sent Me, that of all He has given Me I should lose nothing, but should raise it up at the last day. 40 And this is the will of Him who sent Me, that everyone who sees the Son and believes in Him may have everlasting life; and I will raise him up at the last day.”

None of that contradicts the verse I provided. You blame people for not following Christ even though it is God that prevents them from doing so.

On another note and in response to the scriptures that you provided, it is God's will that Jesus loses NONE but you nevertheless believe that Satan (who works for God) will circumvent God's will and prevent Jesus from being able to save many people, right?

God does not prevent anyone from following Christ. I do not know where you got that Idea from. The passage I showed show that the people who see and believe are those who are saved.

You must chose to believe.

He will lose non of who are his.

Who are his?

John 1: 12 But as many as have RECEIVED HIM, to THEM he gave the power to become the sons of God. even to those who believe on his name

he will lose non of them

Satan can convince people to do what they really want (reject God) he can not prevent people from recieving God..

I think we mistake, or redirect, the rejection of the institutional church as the rejection of God.

Most of those who have left the church tell me they still believe in God.
And many times, that is what led them away from the institutional church.

They still accept God but aren't ready to be institutionalized again. - LOL

Thanks S.S.!
Don't know about an "awesome comment" tho! Rather than going to very liberal church's around me, or Kingdom Halls, or a Tabernacle of Mormons, or the CC...it has been a good 4 years, if not more now that I have prayed, begged God to open a door for fellowship. I no longer even want that anymore, not from these "churches"! Back in Jesus day, all of the Christians met in each others houses, and that is how I believe it should be. These "churches" now? Great if you want a rock concert, bad doctrine, and no fellowship as the whole huge congregations rush OUT of the building when the Pastors end the service. Waste of my time...the world has infiltrat3ed the churches today. You might perhaps find a decent one if you search with a fine tooth comb but, it all depends on where one lives.
We should never judge someone who has left a particular church and say "they went out from us, they were never of us"!!! That burns my toast! We did not leave the "faith" just the "building"...many other ways to fellowship now anyhow. I trust nobody these days. Nobody BUT Christ.
God be with you all~!

Hello Nancy,

Do you think that school teachings would be better, than going to a church?

To be presented with the biblical narrative, but also have someone say - hey you know I could be wrong but you should consult with God through prayer, but also be encouraged to seek yourself by going and checking out the Bible?

A few years ago I did start making videos via teaching, but admitted hey I could be wrong, it worked out but due to my relapses during one of them I went and deleted them all.

Thought about going forward and doing it again, and as time goes on and everything gets better, maybe could figure out how to be able to teach other people that might wanna just learn, overall just the bible, and the content with in it.

That is what has helped me a lot, fellowship is nice. However, when it comes to establishing very good grounded relationships with others, over all it seems that I have failed in that area.

But what are your thoughts? Simply sharing with others in the home is a good thing, with those who are willingly to come by, maybe you could make some food eat together, either before sharing, or after sharing and just talk about life afterwards, and pray and just encourage one another.

You have a good point about how they would visit at houses, thank you for some things to think about as that was some of my experience in church as well, that doesn't mean at least 1 out of 10 churches are not ; not feeding the flock like they should why the others put on a show.

All the best nancy, and thank you also for your encouragement,
Matthew

:Bestest: CORRECT~! Give the man some ice cream! Hahaha...This on here, and my family are in fellowship EVERY DAY!

Jesus did say that in these end days that nobody will listen to sound doctrine but heap up many teachers with itching ears (paraphrased) and that is what we are seeing, people are going to these mega churches in droves! This is what I see as being the "great apostasy" JMHO :) "COME OUT OF HER" ...?

I dont believe that this forum is the church that hell wont prevail against.

Sorry.

You can have friends and everything on here but…

This aint no pure and blameless, place.

Todays standards are much different than the very first bride of Christ, who was the church that hell did not pervail agaisnt.

Hell is done away with so there should be praise in that victory Jesus had.

But however people do become a part of a family of believers in the kingdom of God which has believers there and there is a family of believers here on earth.

Promised that God cares for
You, and you have connection with him, and encouragement from others by and through the spirit.

That however is my opinion.

Is there a pure and blameless "church" out there? I think not. at. all.

Nancy,

There was…

It was the one Jesus promised to come get.

They dont get a lot of credit…

They did it out of Love for God and love for others hoping in the ushered in kingdom of God for all people to come into, getting rid of the old ways of the past with material religion.

An age we dont live in anymore, nor ever lived in.

Most mainstream Christians here believe that about me and @St. SteVen
Yes, as well as myself also. Seems WAY too many cannot handle that we do not agree with them, lol. I do not care if someone on here is in sync with my beliefs or not, no skin off my nose. Brother, I'm way, way over any and all arguments. If the "opinions" of others don't line up with what we honestly believe is written in scripture, it's in the trash can, and they will surely keep arguing and being all passive/aggressive about it too.
It's fine as it now rolls off my back. :)
