For everyone reading the conversation this shows you the difference between us

I posted a bunch of verses and crickets except one comment I did not read John 3 right he posts a bunch of verses and I broke each of them down. And then he pulled his Calvinist twist (your butchered)

I will no longer feed the troll
You butchered every single verse and I corrected you, and you can't stand being corrected so you just go into denial. It's blatantly obvious, that you reject any form of correction.

Proverbs 9:8

Do not correct a scoffer, lest he hate you; Rebuke a wise man, and he will love you. That sums it up well.

Isn't Amazing Discoveries affiliated with SDA?

Also, per the OP video, I think we have to remember all this happens under God's nose.
Yes, we're one of the few churches that still teach and preach Protestant Historicism. Everyone else has jumped on the Jesuit bandwagon, and Luther, Calvin, Tyndale, Huss, Wycliffe and everyone else would be spinnign in their graves if they knew it.

  • People who are in Christ must remain in Him.

If anyone does not abide in Me, he is cast out as a branch and is withered; and they gather them and throw them into the fire, and they are burned. John 15:6

  • Here is how this same John instructs us to remain in Christ.

Now he who keeps His commandments abides in Him, and He in him. And by this we know that He abides in us, by the Spirit whom He has given us. 1 John 3:24
It's not right to suggest that people who are in Christ must remain in Him, because it sounds like you have made salvation conditional on ones ability to remain in Christ. But the Bible teaches that it's impossible for us to remain in Him, unless the Holy Spirit keeps us in Him.

The word "abide" means to stay for the duration of course and endure the journey to the end. Man is not capable of enduring to the end, because we will grow weary and eventually fall into temptation and be overtaken by our lusts. That's why the Lord sent us the comforter, who keeps us and guides us throughout the journey.

Whoever tries to run the the race, without the Holy Spirit will fall away and become as a withered branch and they are cast into the fire.

I don't see how John was instructing anyone on how to remain in Christ. To me it sounds very much like John describing those who keep His commandments abide in Him and He in them. He is making the point that the only reason they keep His commandments is because of the Spirit Jesus gave them. So again all the credit goes to God and there's nothing there to suggest that man contributes anything to his salvation.

That's your private opinion, but Gods Word refutes your opinion because you failed to consider the elephant in the room.

Your disapproval of God's sovereignty, in election and predestination is unwarranted. So, before you blame God for the sins of wicked men, you should ask yourself the obvious question and that is. "Why doesn't God cast everyone into hell", because that would make Him a just and righteous God.

Everyone deserves to be cast into hell, but God has chosen to save a remnant for Himself and people like you accuse Him of unrighteousness for it. You should accuse Him of unrighteousness, for saving anyone.

People like you want to put God on trial, as if you had some authority to question anything God does. The truth is, your opinion of what He does is an abomination in His sight. Nobody in the universe has any right or jurisdiction, to ask God anything at all. We are commanded to trust and obey, so if we stick our nose into His business we end up being cast into the lake of fire.

I'm happy list a bunch of scriptures to prove what I've said if required but I believe it's not necessary as it should be obvious to anyone who has studied the Bible.
The elephant in the room is Calvin.

What you, and others who believe falsely as you do, fail to understand is that if God has preselected some for salvation, based solely upon His own sovereign will, then there is absolutely no need whatsoever of all those not selected to even have existed. Do you truly believe that God is incapable of creating a world which is inhabited only by those He has chosen to save?

The simple fact is that your view of God makes Him an abhorrent ogre who has created the vast majority of human beings for nothing more than the fodder for the fires of hell.

The truth is that the singular purpose of God's physical creation is to yield up a body of believers who freely choose to love God given the opportunity to do so.

What should be obvious to anyone who has studied the Bible is that the soteriology of Calvin's TULIP is a horrendous misreading and misunderstanding of the whole concept of the grace of God.

People like you would sit in the old Roman amphitheater viewing the tyrants' cruelty to those being killed in the ring simply due to his sovereign right to do so praising him for your not being one of those being killed.

Actually the real elephant in the room is Augustine who insinuated his Manichaeism into Christian theology.

You didn't answer my question. I am not sure why. Perhaps you don't really know the answer, or you don't like the answer and don't want to state it.

You have a body; it came from your parents. You have a spirit; that didn't come from your parents. Flesh does not beget spirit. So then, where did your spirit come from and when did you receive it?
I was born with a spirit. Also called a soul,. it is eternall. it was seperated from Christ. And it had to be born again by removing the penalty of sin (the wage of sin is death)

Please. Next time you answer me, cut the condescending attitude. If you did not understand what I was saying, just ask.

Were you born again Or was York spirit born again?

My Bible says I was dead, and I was born again.

1 John 4
Berean Standard BiblePar ▾
Testing the Spirits
1Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God. For many false prophets have gone out into the world. 2By this you will know the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesses that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is from God, 3and every spirit that does not confess Jesusa is not from God. This is the spirit of the antichrist, which you have heard is coming and which is already in the world at this time.
4You, little children, are from God and have overcome them, because greater is He who is in you than he who is in the world. 5They are of the world. That is why they speak from the world’s perspective, and the world listens to them. 6We are from God. Whoever knows God listens to us; whoever is not from God does not listen to us. That is how we know the Spiritb of truth and the spirit of deception.
Love Comes from God
7Beloved, let us love one another, because love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God. 8Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love.
9This is how God’s love was revealed among us: God sent His one and onlyc Son into the world, so that we might live through Him. 10And love consists in this: not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son as the atoning sacrificedfor our sins.
11Beloved, if God so loved us, we also ought to love one another. 12No one has ever seen God; but if we love one another, God remains in us, and His love is perfected in us. 13By this we know that we remain in Him, and He in us: He has given us of His Spirit. 14And we have seen and testify that the Father has sent His Son to be the Savior of the world.
15If anyone confesses that Jesus is the Son of God, God abides in him, and he in God. 16And we have come to know and believe the love that God has for us. God is love; whoever abides in love abides in God, and God in him. 17In this way, love has been perfected among us, so that we may have confidence on the day of judgment; for in this world we are just like Him.
18There is no fear in love, but perfect love drives out fear, because fear involves punishment. The one who fears has not been perfected in love. 19We loveebecause He first loved us.
20If anyone says, “I love God,” but hates his brother, he is a liar. For anyone who does not love his brother, whom he has seen, cannot love God, whom he has not seen. 21And we have this commandment from Him: Whoever loves God must love his brother as well.

The elephant in your room is Jacob Arminias, his Demonic Doctrine has deceived millions like yourself, with his unbiblical man centered gospel message. You Arminians have to trample over 120 verses of scripture to hold on to your false gospel.

You have a very low view of God, you believe His Son failed to save those His Father gave Him. Reformed theology accepts what the Lord said, that He shall lose none of those the Father gave Him. He said nothing can snatch them out of my Fathers hand. But you say, no God mans poor choice snatches them out of your hand.

You can't claim to be a believer when you reject what God has said, you either believe in Him or you don't. You can't just cherry pick the Bible and take those verses you like and throw those you don't in the trash can. God doesn't bless those who reject His Word, He actually hands them over to Satan to be His slaves.

I don't have a view, I just believe what God said. I don't add my point of view to His Word as you Arminians do. Why do you have to trash 120 verses of Gods Word, and then twist the meaning of verses to make them support your false man made religion.

God said He chose His elect, before He created the world. You reject that and make God a liar, at your own peril. The only reason you can't accept what God says, is because you have a false view of who God is. The Bible tells us that man is born dead in trespasses and sin, it tells us that a dead man can do nothing. It tells us that we are all born hating God and loving our sin. But you say no God I don't believe what you say, because I don't like it so I will invent a fictious god who will live up to my expectations. That's clearly idolatry, and it damns the person who does that.

You're dead wrong about Gods singular purpose being to create a body o believers, who would freely choose to love God if they were given the chance. The truth is, the vast majority hate God because of their sin nature. They can't change their sin nature, so their will is to hate God and serve Satan. We are all born enemies of God, how can a man change who He is. Can a leopard change his spots???? Man is dead in sin and if God leaves him in that state he will never find it within himself to repent and serve the God he hates.

It's obvious you know nothing about what Calvin taught, so there's no point in responding to comments made out of ignorance. You never found a single fault with Calvin but you rubbish him, because the enemies of truth have convinced you to swallow their Doctrine of Demons.

Everything is exactly as God preordained it to be, nothing can happen in the universe outside of Gods will. He created the Devil to do exactly as He is doing. The Devil is Gods Devil and and so is everyone else, we can only act according to the nature God gave us. There are no accidents in Gods universe, and nothing happens by chance. God created Judas Iscariot and Pharoah and everyone else to do everything according to His will.

So the difference between our theologies, is the God I believe in is sovereign over every speck of dust in the universe and the God you believe in, created everything and let it randomly unravel to became what ever it might. So He has no control over anything, can you see the difference...

Judge ye not, for you will be judged by the same measure you judge others. A fool hates people who correct him, so don't put yourself in that category, you're better than that.

The verses I listed refuted your theology, you didn't explain how any of them support your "free will" to chose God or your "faith" saves you. Those verses exposed the man centered gospel which you subscribe to, you simply said yep I agree with them but you didn't explain how you can hold onto two opposing interpretations. You can't have it both ways, as the two gospel versions cancel each other out.

You referred to John 3:16 to support your gospel view, I won't use the (Arminian) label because I know you don't like it. So lets just call it the "name it and claim it" gospel.

John 3:16 is the most abused verse in the entire Bible, all the "free choice" people cling to their false interpretation of the verse. The verse says;
For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.

You need to explain what context the word "world" was spoken in the verse. There are around 7 different context for the word "world" in the bible. Which particular context do you believe was being used in that instance.
Reformed theology says that in the context of John 3:16 the world "world" refers to Jews and Gentiles. Jesus said "go into all the world, and preach the gospel".

God chose to save people from the whole "world", people from every tribe and tongue. He didn't only love the Jews, so that's why it says He loved the world.

Then the other word "whoever" is saying that there is no favoritism in Gods election. He never chose anyone based on their nationality or their sex or age or education or any other thing which man may consider to make them more acceptable to God.

You're welcome to call reformed theology nonsense, if you provide a reason other than the fact that it exposes your theology as being false. Baseless accusations can't stick unless you have some facts to back them.

Amen!!!

Best put him on ignore...

Short commentary.

It was found that Jesus primarily responded to false accusation in six ways: by asking questions; by sharing parables, analogies, or maxims; by giving strong words of condemnation or affirmation; by referring to the scriptures; by withdrawing from the accusers; and by keeping silent.

You must be Born Again to see the Kingdom Of God.....
Spirit gives birth to spirit...in Jesus Name....Amen!
Yes, and yet to not be short-sighted and miss some of the larger long term goals God has told us about
1. when He downloaded them into our spirit through His Spirit directly
2. and through other means.

You are right, those who are blind cannot even see the Kingdom Of God. Yet we can see it because we have eyes to see and know what's in the Kingdom of God, firstly and most importantly it's King and Owner.

Its good to know that Jesus continued to reveal His Father's kingdom 2000 years ago and has been continuing to unveil it to this day. And He will continue until our faith gives way to sight. What a day that will be hey.

The elephant in your room is Jacob Arminias, his Demonic Doctrine has deceived millions like yourself, with his unbiblical man centered gospel message. You Arminians have to trample over 120 verses of scripture to hold on to your false gospel.
I am not an Arminian. I am a Christian. And I am a non-Calvinist.
You have a very low view of God,
It is the Calvinist with the very low view of God. They posit that He has created billions of human beings for the sole purpose of sending them straight to hell.
you believe His Son failed to save those His Father gave Him. Reformed theology accepts what the Lord said, that He shall lose none of those the Father gave Him. He said nothing can snatch them out of my Fathers hand. But you say, no God mans poor choice snatches them out of your hand.
I don't say that at all. You make up stuff I say just like you make up stuff God says.
You can't claim to be a believer when you reject what God has said, you either believe in Him or you don't.
I believe what God has said. I certainly don't believe much of what you have said.
You can't just cherry pick the Bible and take those verses you like and throw those you don't in the trash can.
You mean like Calvinists do?
I don't have a view, I just believe what God said.
Now you see, that has to be just about the stupidest statement. This entire posting is nothing but your view. There is not a single word of God presented.
I don't add my point of view to His Word
But you do. That is the key feature of Calvinism. That actually began with Augustine and his Manichaeism influence on Christian theology.
God said He chose His elect, before He created the world. You reject that and make God a liar, at your own peril.
I don't reject that. In fact I firmly believe what he said about that. He said, by Peter through the power of the Holy Spirit, that the elect are chosen according to His foreknowledge. I suspect that you would claim to believe that as well, except the Calvinist is truly ignorant about God's foreknowledge, claiming that it is all the same as predestination. Sheer stupidity.
The only reason you can't accept what God says, is because you have a false view of who God is. The Bible tells us that man is born dead in trespasses and sin,
You cannot post any passage in Scripture that says that man is born dead in trespasses and sin. That you believe that malarky is a part of what you get so wrong. That is a substantial error and leads to innumerable following errors.
it tells us that a dead man can do nothing.
That "dead man" you say can do nothing, can breathe, eat, drink, talk, listen, see, read, walk, run, live, love and so much more. Your Calvinism says that God is incapable of communicating with the unregenerate. It says that God is unable to speak and write in any way that the unregenerate can understand, What absolutely total nonsense. What an affront to God.

After Cain killed Able, God said to Cain, "Why are you angry? Why is your face downcast? If you do what is right, will you not be accepted? But if you do not do what is right, sin is crouching at your door; it desires to have you, but you must rule over it" (Gen 4:6-7). Clearly at that point Cain was dead in his sin of killing Able. Do you really believe that Cain couldn't understand what God said? That is precisely what you imply with your statement that " a dead man can do nothing." Again, absolutely total nonsense.
It tells us that we are all born hating God and loving our sin.
And here again, you cannot post a single passage of Scripture that says that we are all born hating God and loving our sin.
The simple truth is that God created the entire procreation process whereby mankind (and lall the other animals as well) are born. If it were true that all you say about why and how man is born, then whatever is wrong with that must be laid at God's feet. But of course, almost nothing you say about that is true at all. It is all a man-made nonsensical evil derogation of God, Himself.
It's obvious you know nothing about what Calvin taught, so there's no point in responding to comments made out of ignorance.
I have probably studied as much or more about what Calvin taught than you have.
That is but one more example of the hideous ogre you present God to be. That is such a sick, sick thing to say about God.
So the difference between our theologies, is the God I believe in is sovereign over every speck of dust in the universe and the God you believe in, created everything and let it randomly unravel to became what ever it might. So He has no control over anything, can you see the difference...
The problem here, of course like so much of Calvinism, is the decadent wrongly defined words and phrases. The meaning you give to the sovereignty of God is outright malicious. It is outright malevolence at its worst.

As a professing Christian, I expected you to know the scriptures which pertain to this subject. I have paraphrased the scriptures, to support Reformed Theology but I'll happily cite some here for your consideration. Please let me know which of the following scriptures you reject.
Reformed Theology embraces the whole counsel of God, we don't reject any scriptures as other do when, they don't agree with what God said. We don't cherry pick the Bible as other here do.

(Gen 6:5), that the intent of man's heart is only evil from his youth
(Gen 8:21), that there is absolutely no spiritual soundness in man
(Isa 1:5-6), that God doesn't even put his trust in his own holy angels let alone man who is detestable, corrupt and drinks iniquity like water
(Job 15:14-16), and that sinful man in the eyes of a thrice Holy God is nothing more than a maggot, a worm
(Job 25:4-6), that no man does good
(Ps 14:3), that man is brought forth in iniquity and in sin his mother conceived him
(Ps 51:5), that the wicked are estranged from the womb and those who speak lies go astray from birth
(Ps 58:3-4), that indeed all men are liars
(Ps 116:11), that man searches out many evil schemes
(Eccl 7:29), that men deal very treacherously and are rebels from birth
(Isa 48:8), that all men's righteousness are as a woman's menstrual cloth
(Isa 64:6), that's it's impossible for man to do good when they are accustomed to doing evil
(Jer 13:23), that man's heart is so desperately wicked and deceitful above all else that no one can even understand this truth (Jer 17:9), that there is no one good except God alone
(Mk 10:18), that there's no good thing in man's sinful nature
(Rom 7:18), that men love the darkness and hate the light
(Jn 3:19), that man himself is darkness
(Eph 5:8), that the [sons of] darkness
(1Thes 5:5)
do not understand the light
(Jn 1:5)
, that men hate God and his Son

As you can see from those verses, man has no ability t all to understand Gods Word, unless God reveals it to him. Man is dead in trespasses and sin. Dead men can do nothing, but the Arminians believe dead men can save themselves. Reformed Theology is the most faithful interpretation of Scripture because we never add or take away anything from what God said.
Carpet bombing scripture sure isn't the way to discuss.

However, all of the above are correct.
All Christians will agree as to the above verses.

Trouble is.....I don't see one that states that man is UNABLE to come to God on his own.
TO SEEK GOD.
I see no verse that states that GOD MUST SAVE US because we CANNOT SEEK HIM.

All of the following verses state THAT WE ARE TO SEEK GOD.
God COMMANDS that we seek Him.
It is HIS COMMAND.

I underlined a lot of the specific words in the verses,
but then I got tired of it because THERE ARE SO MANY.

Perhaps you could pay attention and believe what the OT and the NT have to say about seeking God
instead of following man-made ideas.

So we are under law not under grace

Why do people want to put us under law. That’s as bad as fatalism if Not worse

Last time I looked, Jesus was teaching New Testament doctrine.

Do you believe Jesus or not?

Choose this day whom you will serve.

It's not right to suggest that people who are in Christ must remain in Him

You can tell that to the Savior and Lord, Jesus Christ.

These are His words through the Apostle John -

If anyone does not abide in Me, he is cast out as a branch and is withered; and they gather them and throw them into the fire, and they are burned. John 15:6

Here is how this same John instructs us to remain in Christ.

Now he who keeps His commandments abides in Him, and He in him. And by this we know that He abides in us, by the Spirit whom He has given us. 1 John 3:24

You are free to choose who to believe; Jesus Christ or John Calvin. The choice is yours.
