Stop condemning the innocent, and then I'll love you for it.

Until then, your commanded pseudo-sabbath is an offense against the law of the Lord and the body of Christ.

And whosoever shall offend one of these little ones that believe in me, it is better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and he were cast into the sea.

There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus for the law of the spirit of life has set me free from the law of sin and death.

You openly mocked worshipping Jesus in the spirit daily as being nonsense.

Your efforts to now speak of inward worship of Jesus daily falls short.

Do you say that if any Christian is working on a sabbath day, then they are profaning the sabbath day, and no amount of offerings afterward justifies their working on a sabbath day?

You therfore have no excuse you who pass judgment on someone else, for at whatever point you judge someone else, you are condemning yourself, because you who pass judgment do the same things Roman 2:1.

Since I don't command a sabbath for anyone, I would neither care nor be there.

I really don't care what you people do, until you come out condemning the innocent for not keeping your fraudulent sabbaths.

And since you get your feelings hurt over being exposed for your vanity, then keep it to yourselves.

This witness is true. Wherefore rebuke them sharply, that they may be sound in the faith.
I have mentioned previously, several times, that at creation God blessed, sanctified, and made holy the 7th day. No-where in scripture is there even a hint that the holiness of the 7th day has been removed. It doesn't matter that observation of that holiness was codified into law at Sinai or not. The thing is that the day is still holy.
You are free to profane that day by doing your own thing, but it seems to me quite extraordinary that you have taken it upon yourself to vilify those who choose to keep the day holy according to biblical mandates going back 1000s of years, and the practise and example of Jesus and His followers in the first centuries of Christianity.
You can claim all you like that present Sabbath keepers aren't up to the job. You are probably right. But the same could be said for any of the commandments, from covetousness to idolatry right? Are any of us yet perfect? I would not claim such a thing certainly. So really, your accusations regarding just the 4th Commandment seems wholely hypocritical seeing it is the one Commandment you refuse to acknowledge as a valid Christian practise.
As for commanding fraudulent Sabbaths, there is only one true Sabbath. The 7th day. The only sacred day, holy to the Lord. Jesus demonstrated how to keep that day holy. By doing good for others. That includes animals and people. See Mark 1:21-31. Example and demonstration.
Being the accuser of the brethren must be a weighty burden for you. I suggest, not command as it is a choice, but I suggest you start observing Sabbath.
KJV Isaiah 58:13-14
13 If thou turn away thy foot from the sabbath, from doing thy pleasure on my holy day; and call the sabbath a delight, the holy of the LORD, honourable; and shalt honour him, not doing thine own ways, nor finding thine own pleasure, nor speaking thine own words:
14 Then shalt thou delight thyself in the LORD; and I will cause thee to ride upon the high places of the earth, and feed thee with the heritage of Jacob thy father: for the mouth of the LORD hath spoken it.

Every day in Christ Jesus is holiness to the Lord.

As the thread points out, your carnal sabbath has no worship of Christ in the Spirit.

You are free to profane that day by doing your own thing, but it seems to me quite extraordinary that you have taken it upon yourself to vilify those who choose to keep the day holy according to biblical mandates going back 1000s of years, and the practise and example of Jesus and His followers in the first centuries of Christianity.
You profane the Lord's Sabbath of old, every time you preach your corrupt modern version of it.

I vilify your corrupt sabbath.

Those who kept the Lord's Sabbath were only those who knew they would never work on any sabbath day, No exceptions, and no Corban Indulgence pay offs.

You can claim all you like that present Sabbath keepers aren't up to the job. You are probably right. But the same could be said for any of the commandments, from covetousness to idolatry right? Are any of us yet perfect?

So, you finally acknowledge your modern version of a sabbath, with exceptions and indulgences, is corrupt.

But then you lower yourself to OSAS self-justification by grace.

The last thing I expected to hear from sabbath commanders was OSAS doctrine of salvation for the unrighteous.

So really, your accusations regarding just the 4th Commandment seems wholely hypocritical seeing it is the one Commandment you refuse to acknowledge as a valid Christian practise.

I reject your corrupt sabbath that mocks the Lord's Sabbath.

The only valid Christian practise of the Lord's Sabbath is to do so by personal faith, and not as by commandment, and to do so by doing no work therein.

No exceptions and no Corbanite Indulgences.

As for commanding fraudulent Sabbaths, there is only one true Sabbath.

There was one in the OT, and there will be one again during the millennial reign of Jesus in the land promised to Abraham and his natural seed.

The only sacred day, holy to the Lord.

Which is today and every day with the Lord.

But exhort one another daily, while it is called To day; lest any of you be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin.

While it is said, To day if ye will hear his voice, harden not your hearts, as in the provocation.

Being the accuser of the brethren must be a weighty burden for you.

What brethren? I defy, reject, and denounce your corrupt sabbath of exceptions and indulgences, as a childish blasphemy against the Lord's Sabbath.

You calling me brother?

Have you so little regard for your own commandment?

If any man openly defied any commandment of the Lord, I would never call him brother, nor keep company with him, not so much as to eat with.

But now I have written unto you not to keep company, if any man that is called a brother be a fornicator, or covetous, or an idolater, or a railer, or a drunkard, or an extortioner; with such an one no not to eat.

You people truly are just playing games.

I suggest, not command as it is a choice, but I suggest you start observing Sabbath.

The Lord's commandments are not suggestions.

More proof that your playday sabbath is not commandment of the Lord to His people today.

If the Lord's Sabbath were commanded to Christians by the apostles, then profaning the Sabbath would have been rebuked along with fornication, covetousness, blasphemy, etc... and Christians would be commanded to keep no company with them:

This is what you call an argument from silence that isn't really even silence, considering the scriptures the apostles learned and taught from were the Old Testament.

I could just as easily counter that if Sabbath-keeping and breaking was an issue in the time of the apostles we would have heard a lot more about that than what's contained in the sparse few proof texts that are claimed to have abrogated it in the New Testament, especially since the 4th was possibly the most attended to of the commandments apart from possibly the 2nd.

It is much, much more likely that the 4th commandment was so entrenched in the worship of the true God that no issues arose from its standing, one way or another.

The modern sabbath is a joke, and it's own commanders won't even take a righteous stand for it.

We shall see very shortly who will take a righteous stand for the eternal Sabbath.

In any case, I've waited long for you to offer something substantial in support of your droning claims. There's no two-way discussion here. Just an OP that never ends.

I might have to take a little break from this mind-numbingly redundant sandbox. The Goebbels-esque rhetoric really tries my endurance. Sorry.

Sounds like christ creators trying to dig out the name jehovah in the NT, rather than that if Jesus.

Profaning the Lord's Sabbath was rebuked in many places by the OT prophets, nowhere by the NT apostles.

The only ones rebuking Christians for not keeping a sabbath are false prophets of today.

Certainly not you. I mean, I'm getting righteously indignant about your squishiness, and it isn't even my commandment.

Since you have no standing to answer straight questions, you certainly won't be missed.

There are those who teach it is acceptable to work on a sabbath day, if it is required as part of their career, such as in the military, police, or emergency response.

When they do so, their pay for that day goes to the offering plate.

Do you agree with this teaching or not?

The thread is about the absence of the inner man spoken of by those commanding a carnal sabbath.

No examples have been given from the thousands of posts in the past.

So you can summarily vomit all over and dismissively and arbitrarily disqualify them?

I think not.

It was dark outside when I was born, but it was't last night, Robert.

I concede your points:

1. You don't know if I agree with your side of the hypothetical situation.

2. You don't know if I consider you a brother or not.

I have failed miserably to successfully make these things clear.

Every day in Christ Jesus is holiness to the Lord.
no, it is we that are holy, thus the admonition not to mix the holy with the profane in our personal lives. the 7th day is the only day specifically sanctified and blessed for holy purposes. You, by discarding this inf avoiur of another concept, have created a different religion.
As the thread points out, your carnal sabbath has no worship of Christ in the Spirit.
I don't have a Sabbath. There's only one...not Sunday, not ever day...but the Lord's Sabbath.

@robert derrick The way you have approached this subject and have issued accusations and condemnations without following due diligence in investigating the truth of the matter, nor inquiring personally but made presumptions based on your own unenlightened theological errors, you remind me of King Ahab when he first saw Elijah after 3½ years. "Art thou he that troubleth Israel?" Well, I am here to tell you "No. It is not us that troubles Israel, but you, because you have forsaken the commandments of God and have followed the carnal ungodly philosophies of the majority...the priests of Baal and the prophets of the witch Jezebel who would have no qualms in extinguishing the lives of those who dissent from her idolatry".
You are being used as an emissary of the accuser of the brethren. In the future, as the wrath of the people shall be excited by false charges, they will pursue a course similar to that which apostate Israel pursued toward Elijah.
The miracle-working power manifested through spiritualism will exert its influence against those who choose to obey God rather than men. Communications from the spirits will declare that God has sent them to convince the rejecters of Sunday of their error, affirming that the laws of the land should be obeyed as the law of God. They will lament the great wickedness in the world and second the testimony of religious teachers that the degraded state of morals is caused by the desecration of Sunday. Great will be the indignation excited against all who refuse to accept their testimony.
Satan's policy in this final conflict with God's people is the same that he employed in the opening of the great controversy in heaven. He professed to be seeking to promote the stability of the divine government, while secretly bending every effort to secure its overthrow. And the very work which he was thus endeavoring to accomplish he charged upon the loyal angels. The same policy of deception has marked the history of the Roman Church. It has professed to act as the vicegerent of Heaven, while seeking to exalt itself above God and to change His law. Under the rule of Rome, those who suffered death for their fidelity to the gospel were denounced as evildoers; they were declared to be in league with Satan; and every possible means was employed to cover them with reproach, to cause them to appear in the eyes of the people and even to themselves as the vilest of criminals. So it will be now. While Satan seeks to destroy those who honor God's law, he will cause them to be accused as lawbreakers, as men who are dishonoring God and bringing judgments upon the world.
God never forces the will or the conscience; but Satan's constant resort—to gain control of those whom he cannot otherwise seduce—is compulsion by cruelty. Through fear or force he endeavors to rule the conscience and to secure homage to himself. To accomplish this, he works through both religious and secular authorities, moving them to the enforcement of human laws in defiance of the law of God.
Those who honor the Bible Sabbath will be denounced as enemies of law and order, as breaking down the moral restraints of society, causing anarchy and corruption, and calling down the judgments of God upon the earth. Their conscientious scruples will be pronounced obstinacy, stubbornness, and contempt of authority. They will be accused of disaffection toward the government. Ministers who deny the obligation of the divine law will present from the pulpit the duty of yielding obedience to the civil authorities as ordained of God. In legislative halls and courts of justice, commandment keepers will be misrepresented and condemned. A false coloring will be given to their words; the worst construction will be put upon their motives.

The above was written 130 years ago, and the vast majority of Protestant commentators thought such a thing impossible. Yet here you are, operating in the same spirit as those spoken of. The question is, how far are you willing to take this?

To all I would say...
Fear God and give glory to Him, for the hour of His judgement has come. And worship Him that made heaven, the earth, and the sea, and the fountain of waters. Revelation 14:6

Remember the Sabbath day to keep it holy... For in six days the Lord made the heaven and the earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day; wherefore the Lord blessed the Sabbath day and hallowed it. Exodus 20:8-11

And they went into Capernaum; and straightway on the sabbath day he entered into the synagogue, and taught. And they were astonished at his doctrine: for he taught them as one that had authority, and not as the scribes. And there was in their synagogue a man with an unclean spirit; and he cried out, Saying, Let us alone; what have we to do with thee, thou Jesus of Nazareth? art thou come to destroy us? I know thee who thou art, the Holy One of God. And Jesus rebuked him, saying, Hold thy peace, and come out of him. And when the unclean spirit had torn him, and cried with a loud voice, he came out of him. And they were all amazed, insomuch that they questioned among themselves, saying, What thing is this? what new doctrine is this? for with authority commandeth he even the unclean spirits, and they do obey him. And immediately his fame spread abroad throughout all the region round about Galilee. And forthwith, when they were come out of the synagogue, they entered into the house of Simon and Andrew, with James and John. But Simon’s wife’s mother lay sick of a fever, and anon they tell him of her. And he came and took her by the hand, and lifted her up; and immediately the fever left her, and she ministered unto them. Mark 1:21-31

Interesting isn't it. The The common people were astonished at the wisdom and authority of Christ as He taught them. And even the demonic spirits could do nothing but acknowledge the authority of the Son of God. Also interesting is that this demon possessed man was in church. Mmmm. And we have here with us today those who reject the written authority of scripture, inspired by the Spirit of Christ and written with His own finger in stone cut from the very throne of the Father, preferring man-made doctrines of the Roman apostasy vis-à-vis Sunday sacredness which is based on nothing more substantial than human tradition whiuch has trampled upon and contradicts the commandment of God. Those who do seek to honour God's commandments are here vilified and accused of many things, without a murmur of remonstrance from anyone looking on, with but one exception, Marksman.
The theory that the NT doesn't specifically 'command' Sabbath observance is meaningless twaffle. How many times do you need to be reminded that God's authority in all things is without dispute? Equally void of common sense is the idea that a 'rest' in Christ supersedes or somehow over-rides the obligation to obey Him.
It's time for Christians to choose whom they are willing to surrender their personal sovereignty to. Who, or what, is the authority in your spiritual walk? Is it the teaching of Christ, or that of scribes and Pharisees?
Again,
Revelation 14:6¶ And I saw another angel fly in the midst of heaven, having the everlasting gospel to preach unto them that dwell on the earth, and to every nation, and kindred, and tongue, and people,
7 Saying with a loud voice, Fear God, and give glory to him; for the hour of his judgment is come: and worship him that made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and the fountains of waters.
What better way to worship the Creator than honoring the day He Himself dedicated as a memorial of His creative power and glory.

The King of the universe summoned the heavenly hosts before Him, that in their presence He might set forth the true position of His Son and show the relation He sustained to all created beings. The Son of God shared the Father's throne, and the glory of the eternal, self-existent One encircled both. About the throne gathered the holy angels, a vast, unnumbered throng—“ten thousand times ten thousand, and thousands of thousands” (Revelation 5:11.), the most exalted angels, as ministers and subjects, rejoicing in the light that fell upon them from the presence of the Deity. Before the assembled inhabitants of heaven the King declared that none but Christ, the Only Begotten of God, could fully enter into His purposes, and to Him it was committed to execute the mighty counsels of His will. The Son of God had wrought the Father's will in the creation of all the hosts of heaven; and to Him, as well as to God, their homage and allegiance were due. Christ was still to exercise divine power, in the creation of the earth and its inhabitants. But in all this He would not seek power or exaltation for Himself contrary to God's plan, but would exalt the Father's glory and execute His purposes of beneficence and love.

The angels joyfully acknowledged the supremacy of Christ, and prostrating themselves before Him, poured out their love and adoration. Lucifer bowed with them, but in his heart there was a strange, fierce conflict. Truth, justice, and loyalty were struggling against envy and jealousy. The influence of the holy angels seemed for a time to carry him with them. As songs of praise ascended in melodious strains, swelled by thousands of glad voices, the spirit of evil seemed vanquished; unutterable love thrilled his entire being; his soul went out, in harmony with the sinless worshippers, in love to the Father and the Son. But again he was filled with pride in his own glory. His desire for supremacy returned, and envy of Christ was once more indulged. The high honors conferred upon Lucifer were not appreciated as God's special gift, and therefore, called forth no gratitude to his Creator. He gloried in his brightness and exaltation and aspired to be equal with God. He was beloved and reverenced by the heavenly host, angels delighted to execute his commands, and he was clothed with wisdom and glory above them all. Yet the Son of God was exalted above him, as one in power and authority with the Father. He shared the Father's counsels, while Lucifer did not thus enter into the purposes of God. “Why,” questioned this mighty angel, “should Christ have the supremacy? Why is He honored above Lucifer?”

Leaving his place in the immediate presence of the Father, Lucifer went forth to diffuse the spirit of discontent among the angels. He worked with mysterious secrecy, and for a time concealed his real purpose under an appearance of reverence for God. He began to insinuate doubts concerning the laws that governed heavenly beings, intimating that though laws might be necessary for the inhabitants of the worlds, angels, being more exalted, needed no such restraint, for their own wisdom was a sufficient guide. They were not beings that could bring dishonor to God; all their thoughts were holy; it was no more possible for them than for God Himself to err. The exaltation of the Son of God as equal with the Father was represented as an injustice to Lucifer, who, it was claimed, was also entitled to reverence and honor. If this prince of angels could but attain to his true, exalted position, great good would accrue to the entire host of heaven; for it was his object to secure freedom for all. But now even the liberty which they had hitherto enjoyed was at an end; for an absolute Ruler had been appointed them, and to His authority all must pay homage. Such were the subtle deceptions that through the wiles of Lucifer were fast obtaining in the heavenly courts.

There had been no change in the position or authority of Christ. Lucifer's envy and misrepresentation and his claims to equality with Christ had made necessary a statement of the true position of the Son of God; but this had been the same from the beginning. Many of the angels were, however, blinded by Lucifer's deceptions.

Taking advantage of the loving, loyal trust reposed in him by the holy beings under his command, he had so artfully instilled into their minds his own distrust and discontent that his agency was not discerned. Lucifer had presented the purposes of God in a false light—misconstruing and distorting them to excite dissent and dissatisfaction. He cunningly drew his hearers on to give utterance to their feelings; then these expressions were repeated by him when it would serve his purpose, as evidence that the angels were not fully in harmony with the government of God. While claiming for himself perfect loyalty to God, he urged that changes in the order and laws of heaven were necessary for the stability of the divine government. Thus while working to excite opposition to the law of God and to instill his own discontent into the minds of the angels under him, he was ostensibly seeking to remove dissatisfaction and to reconcile disaffected angels to the order of heaven. While secretly fomenting discord and rebellion, he with consummate craft caused it to appear as his sole purpose to promote loyalty and to preserve harmony and peace.

Politics. Nothing has changed. Deception, innuendo, slander, lies. Man now following in their master's footsteps seeking to glorify themselves by establishing their own laws above God's supreme authority.

Thank you for the very colourful and comprehensive explanation of the sabbath. Whatever you believe you cannot deny the very clear explanation of the Sabbath in scripture and therefore criticize people who choose to go by what the word says for in criticizing them you are crticising the Word of God.
