Of course not because Jesus did it for us. He took our punishment. And that is the basis for our faith in Him. It is the foundation of Christianity. He made atonement for OUR sin so that we could be forgiven and be spiritually reborn with a clear slate and a fresh start washed clean in the blood of the sacrificial lamb. I don't think the CC teaches the true gospel or you would have known that. He is alive and lives in his Church. And not the church which partakes of his dead body during mass.

It's almost making me weep, hearing all the false teachings that so many people have been subject to. This must sorely grieve the Holy Spirit. How can the Holy Spirit move in a church that doesn't seem to accept Jesus' sacrifice for our sin. Why do people who are already freely forgiven need to do 'penance'? Oh I know - it's because nobody has told them that if they turn to Jesus and repent God will forgive all their sin so that they do not need to do penance.

So he began heavily reading the scriptures . Pouring into them .
He said it did not take long before he realized they were wrong and had been decieved .

It did not take long to realize that WE had been duped , AS IN THE CC .

HE would learn and realize His error and that HE indeed has been decieved by that Church .

Yes . And we do something very important as well , WE dont sit under false teachings .
My friend , Remember this well , JESUS is gonna tell many I never knew you .
Now notice HE even says they were using His name and doing many good works .

you claim your Church is THE CHURCH . SO WHY NOT learn what THE ORIGINAL CHURCH
What CHRIST and the ORGINAL apostels in that bible actually said and taught .
I am tellling you , your eyes can indeed be opened . Learn the bible my friend .
You are no different than a JW or Others . THEY TOO make such a cliam .

We do not have to punish ourselves because of our sin. Christ already took that punishment and we are redeemed.

Where the bible talks about suffering it isn't self inflicted penance but as a result of persecution. You see the text says 'suffering fo being a Christian. It does not say punish yourself for you sins.

1 Peter 4:12-14

My Catholic niece who is now turned 50 had a bible for school which she keeps in the loft - never to be read again.

Marvel not my dear sister . There is but one way to understand and receive that which is spiritual .
Ye must be born again . Thee faith is not alone in this delusion . I have talked with many who are heavily decieved .
The one thing they have in common is they are not big on being in their bibles
and they were taught and instructed by men who had already twisted scrips .
In other words , Even the scriptures they use , ITS through the lens of their church . NOT THE SPIRIT .
They cannot rightly divide truth . They sat under men who twisted truth to justify themselves .
Under men who put fear into men , who made them believe they themselves could never truly understand the bible
and to do so means LEARN FROM THEM . THIS IS and has always been for POWER and CONTROL .
THEE faith does not realize how his church was truly born .
The CC really got its power in the times of constantine .
Many things were added in . For power and control .
It became a churchstate . YOU can do the research yourself and see what happened .
ANY TIME politics and religoin merge i am telling us ITS bad news .
I mean look at even many of the churches in the protestant realm .
THEY teach many twisted things themselves and holler we are too simple to understand
truth unless we learn from them , and use their greek and their scholars .
YET i seem to notice the greek is different in an adventist church , or in a JW
or etc etc . YET the one thing that is the same , THE greek or hermunetics they use , ALWAYS JUSTIFIES THEIR OWN TEACHING .
THIS is not new sister . GOD is with the lambs . HE will teach us and we will grow and then
no longer be tossed to and fro by deceptive clever men who do as they do for power , money and control

I will Not read books on someone's interpretation of the word nor concordance.

I will read books of encouragement .

I believe all that God wants us to know of HIS doctrines is in HIS word,the HS will reveal to us.

I vet all I hear and see from others hearts and words against the word,spiritual for spiritual,testing the spirit to see whether it is of God or NOT.

We have an advocate if we sin,Jesus Christ our REDEEMER. We do NOT need a middleman.
We have the Holy Spirit as our teacher and reminder of what the word says.

We DO need fellowship among believers,sharing the word and breaking of bread together and we must dwell TOGETHER IN UNITY.

I love Ep. Ch.4.
All scripture must be exposed to the light of the HS and this is how we MUST view it,thru his lens!

It must also be correctly handled in content and context. There are NO contradictions,heresies, cherry picking, man's doctrinal support scriptures.
As we take God on FAITH so must we take his word,that it truly is the two edged sharp sword that will rent away the things in our life that are displeasing to God!

We must also be in complete accordance with how he instructs us to live to please him!

As for me , i am sticking to what was taught in that bible , by Christ and the apostels and i refuse to
follow any teaching which contradicts what JESUS taught in the bible and what the apostels wrote in that bible .
I suggest you do the same . GOD dont change , the Word dont change , JESUS dont change
just cause society does . You need to know this and learn it well .
