You seem to find it most unacceptable. This is all I've ever asked, is that we look at prophecies and test for accuracy. But when they come up short I become pariah.

Maybe you have me confused with someone who is just against prophecy. I think you've said I was cessationist before, you are remember that isn't true, right?
I guess this is a second hand source? That wouldn't automatically mean it's not true. What about this though . . .

By the stats I just looked up . . .
8.4 million people in NYC
185,000 confirmed cases
5,300 reported deaths (NYC)
That puts this plague as infecting approx 2.2% of the population of NYC so far. And the death rate at about .06% of the population.
Current numbers.
According to the NIH, in the Spanish Flu pandemic, in NYC:
5.6 million pop
30,000 deaths
That's .5% of the population, or over 8 times greater.
Of course we're not finished yet. And of course we have so much better health care, imagine those caught up in that pandemic! Drowning in frothy blood, one report I read. Man!
Is this worse? I guess we don't know yet.

Also I am not a newcomer to receiving pictures and words....... but in recent years things took me into a wilderness, one that I came out of a few months ago, thanks to some wonderful words of encouragement from
Heart2soul .... and Gods timing in me coming back to this forum.
I am not too sure I want to chase dreams, pictures I can cope with, and when I ‘ feel ‘ words and discernments I kind of just know it’s from God .......but who knows ........

Prophetic words in general are not very rare. For example, you can subscribe to Charisma magazine's "Prophetic Insight" newsletter to get the latest messages from those who say they have a message for the church directly from the Lord. The newsletter tends more toward the "words of encouragement" prophecies than "end times" parsing, though you can find lots of those newsletters online, too.
Are most of the other prophecy newsletters as calamitous?

For all the links I searched I could not verify that David Wilkerson actually said what some have claimed.....even his own church.
God communicates in many different ways Farouk - Do you believe in the gifts , as many of your posts, perhaps, suggest you don’t think they continued after scripture was competed ........

@Rita: I do think the work of the Holy Spirit is indeed absolutely necessary (this is why I don't care for 'evangelists' who ask for raised hands, standing up, signing "decision" cards, etc.) I do think the context of the sign gifts in Acts during the Apostolic period at the beginning when the Word was not complete, is an important aspect.
That sounds like a politicians answer..........you kind of answer , but without being completely directly saying yes or no..... lol
Well I well and truly believe that the gifts continue , so if you don’t, then we are never going to be on the same page when it comes to threads that discuss the gifts......I can only speak from my own experiences and the way God has communicated through others to me over the years .......I don’t put God in a little box and say ‘ he can’t do that ‘ .............
And interesting observation, and well worthy consideration. Keep in mind, the public schools are government-run institutions regulated by federal, state and local law, which means they could rightly be applied as "government" here, and the entire public education system in the United States has been shut down for months.
But there is also presently a looming threat that the Coronavirus may be spreading among the Trump Administration:

I wasn't about to pay for the Trump-hating establishment mouthpiece The New York Times just to read one article, Lol, so I can only quote you what the Google link reads:
"WASHINGTON — The Trump administration is racing to contain an outbreak ... the virus at the White House — and the swift testing and contact tracing being ... because of a concern that they both could be incapacitated by Covid-19. ... all White House employees to stay home if they felt even remotely sick..."
Time will tell on how all that plays put, so it is worth keeping an eye on.
@Rita Oh I can see that God can convict directly in many ways; I do actually say I don't think the sign gifts in a primary sense on the level of the authority of Scripture are still with us.
PS: @Rita: EBENEZER, 'Hitherto hath the LORD helped us' (1 Samuel 7.12), is what so many believers can say, right? :)
It’s important to remember that our prime minister was really seriously ill with this virus.......he couldn’t work, but the government continued running ......there are always back up plans .....so surely your country would have the same ........It would be amazing if the government came to a halt in the USA

Time will tell. But I am not the least bit concerned so as to "hit the panic button," and it is not my motivation in posting this thread.
Simply put, Heart2Soul, there are different voices going forth at the moment. This is to bear out who is truly speaking for Him and who is unfortunately speaking things that are not coming from the Spirit of God. But I don't think there should be condemnation for either. The prophetic gifts are not easily operated in, and contrary to some, I personally think even those who miss it in the initial stages of their gift can later be used of God greatly. It's simply a matter of if they are willing to learn the lessons necessary, and admit when they make mistakes.
This is why it takes a humble man or woman of God to walk in the gift.
Yes. Well, I strongly doubt the government would ever come to a complete halt. If that ever happened, there would be lawlessness and anarchy in the streets. But it's a question of to what extent "bars, church and government will shut down" is to be taken literally, and to what it refers to specifically. The churches as a whole never shut down completely either, though many did close their doors for a time.
Well, the conscience may be stirred by many things in a very personal way; I do also think that it's the conscience that counts in conjunction with what Scripture says, rather than the conscience ever supposedly overruling what Scripture says. This is how I see it.
I think that God is able to speak to us, and if we're not getting a clear communication, maybe it's not from God.
