And I agree when they believe they are given eternal life. But faith is also a gift from God.
God breathed life into Adam, gen 2:7 and we received this life from our fathers!

They did not go preaching this line but went immediately to the river and baptized Jn 3:22

When we first believed we are saved?

This only refers to the people whose hearts God chooses to open.
