What does that mean from a practical POV?

It means that when you find a pearl of great price, you've found something for Real.

Jesus is that Pearl.

Practically speaking.....>"In Jesus are found all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge"..

So, religious people, and often fairly smart people, are "looking for truth".. and are "looking for the answers"...."the answer".

And "in Jesus" are all the answers found... so, when you find Him, you've found all the answers, and that is a "Pearl of Great Price" you've found.

Sell everything to get that Pearl.

What does it mean that Jesus is the truth?

It means that when you find a pearl of great price, you've found something for Real.

Jesus is that Pearl..........so. Practically speaking.....>"In Jesus are found all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge"..
So, hyper religious people, and often smart people, are "looking for truth".. "looking for the answer".. And "in Jesus" are all the answers found... so, when you find Him, you've found all the answers, and that is THE "Pearl of Great Price" whom you've found.
Noting can compare.

(the way, the truth, the life)

1.) How is Jesus "the Way".

Because there is only one WAY to the Father.. there is only one Narrow Way... as all other WAYS.. lead to Destruction. = (Hell)

So, all other "ways" are man man religion.... and they can not lead you to God, as Jesus is the "Only Way" there.
In other words.. the thing that is always being chased by philosophers... and the religious is..

= "WHat is the WAY..........that i become "like god'. How do i become "god like"

Jesus is the only TRUE answer., and all other "ways" are false and lead to "destruction".

So...How does the Christian become "God Like", by becoming a Christian?

Its by joining God, Spiritually as....>"ONE with God"... as "IN Christ"... however, being made in the image of God.. is also to be "god like" but its not based on being found in God Himself, until you are "born .. again".. INTO God Himself by the Holy Spirit.
This is the "new CREATION">."IN Christ".

Also...A Christian is an "HEIR OF GOD" Almighty., and a "Joint HEIR With Christ".

2.) How is Jesus "the Life".

Like this..

Jesus said..

"All who believe in Me, i give unto them, ETERNAL LIFE"...

Jesus said..

"ive come to give you LIFE, and that more Abundantly"..

Jesus Is.. "The RESURRECTION, and THE LIFE"..

So.....What is the distinction between having Eternal life vs living forever, after you die, yet not as a Christian.

The Christian is become "one with God" and the person who dies never being born again... will never become "one with God'.

In both cases, the Spirit Man, is eternal, but in only one Case is the Spirit man, "reconciled to God" as having "eternal Life, that is defined as being "ONE with God"... born again.....>>"in Christ".

Yes, they are wrong.

Appeal to Strawman. I did not say enemies of God cannot be right about some things. I said they are wrong in denying the existence of absolute truth.
Isn't the existence of absolute truth a debatable subject?
How can we know for sure?
Do we only claim the existence of absolute truth because we are Christians and Jesus is the truth?
What does that even mean?

No. It is not debatable. How we know for sure is to assert otherwise is inherently contradictory. ‘There is no such thing as absolute truth’ is a statement of absolute truth.

No. It is not debatable. How we know for sure is to assert otherwise is inherently contradictory. ‘There is no such as absolute truth’ is a statement of absolute truth.
But I presented it as a question. (not an absolute) That would be, as you say, contradictory.

Absolute truth - Do we know what it is?

I'm not sure that Jesus being the truth really answers the question about absolute truth.
Jesus is the answer, but what is the question?

I said they are wrong in denying the existence of absolute truth.

Someone who denies the existence of "Absolute Truth" would be a "Christ denier".

An Atheist for example.

Or a Muslim who states that "Jesus was not the Son of God" as Allah Teaches....in the "Quran"..

Do you know what an unreached people group is?
Countless billions have gone to the afterlife with no knowledge whatsoever of the gospel.

It is estimated that of the 8.00 billion people alive in the world today, 3.40 billion of them live in unreached people groups with little or no access to the Gospel of Jesus Christ. According to Joshua Project, there are approximately 17,446 unique people groups in the world with 7,391 of them considered unreached (over 42% of the world’s population)! The vast majority (85%) of these least reached groups exist in the 10/40 window and less than 3% of missionary work is done among these people. Watch this brief video to learn more! SOURCE

This 3 minute video explains.

There are 193 nations in the UN and all have heard of Jesus Christ, so I feel our part is done... now it is up to the angel:
Revelation 14:6 (KJV) And I saw another angel fly in the midst of heaven, having the everlasting gospel to preach unto them that dwell on the earth, and to every nation, and kindred, and tongue, and people,

how-do-we-know-what-we-know-n.jpg

And the related question, "How do we know that we know what we know?" (Seriously.) The field is called "Epistemology", and it's a branch of Philosophy that deals with knowledge. I should've stuck with that course in Western Philosophy and bought the prof a beer after the semester to find out what he REALLY thought. I never suspected I might need it 40 years later.

The math and science and logic courses I did take started with observed phenomena and then constructing systems of knowledge from basic definitions, assumed postulates (which includes the level of trust in our observations of conditioned external phenomena), and the rules of logic (which is itself presumed to be true).

Where does "revealed propositional Truth" fit in? As a non-repeatable observed phenomenon?

What means will the angel use?

I remember one theology book where, when confronted by an apparent biblical contradiction, the author questioned the law of non-contradiction. On a systematic philosophy level, that's fair game, but if you throw out the rules of logic, you basically don't have any tools in the toolbox to argue with.

Most Christians are quite upset at the suggestion that there are biblical contradictions. Blasphemous and unthinkable. (sigh)
What does that say about the claim of absolute truth? Can absolute truth coexist with contradictions?

Too bad the treasures of wisdom and knowledge are hidden in Christ, rather than revealed. (bummer)

And where is Jesus, ???????????????? where is He located when a person is born again?

"Christ IN YOU">. the hope of Glory"..

So, there is all that wisdom and Knowledge, in the Christian.

The "bummer" is that you never actually know anything you need to know..., yet you post and Thread like you are on fire.

Thats a "bummer". @St. SteVen

we are not told but there is no way we are capable of doing this in Africa alone this search said this:

There are over 2,000 languages spoken in Africa, with estimates ranging from 1,250 to over 3,000 depending on how languages and dialects are classified. Nigeria alone has more than 500 languages, making it one of the most linguistically diverse countries in the world.

What it doesn't tell you is how many of those even have a written language... most don't.

Our best guess based on the information we have?
But do we have enough information?

[
It's more than that. How much confidence do we have in the information we do have? What about probabilistic data? I'm going over our reliability test procedures now. Our company makes multi-million-dollar product decisions based on reliability test data that has only a mathematical 60% confidence level.

Well, like Meat Loaf says, "two out of three ain't bad".
