They're running out of pressure, their mutations are getting worse, the Devil won't relent - who but God is there for the Evolutionists? (scared?)

English translations of the bible are divided. Most print it as "the devil," but some do as you do, "the Devil."

    Yahweh or Jehovah?

I take it to have referred immediately to the existing Scriptures, the Old Testament. However, it wasn't long before scripture was being used to refer to New Testament books too: “Therefore, beloved, looking forward to these things, be diligent to be found by Him in peace, without spot and...

    Yahweh or Jehovah?

Really? So what did Jesus mean when He said: “"You search the Scriptures, for in them you think you have eternal life; and these are they which testify of Me.” (Joh 5:39 NKJV) Or: “Then He said to them, "These are the words which I spoke to you while I was still with you, that all things...

In English, only proper nouns (names of people, towns, countries, etc.) are capitalised (unlike German, where all nouns start with a capital letter). The devil is not his name. If instead the poster had called him "Satan", that would start with a capital S.

    Yahweh or Jehovah?

Well, Jesus quote from it regularly, so did the apostles.

    Yahweh or Jehovah?

Of course there was. It only had the Old Testament.

How to know that you have : Eternal Life

Yes I agree, and for us to be born again, that is God's work. Just as we didn't cause ourselves to be born physically, so we cannot give ourselves new birth.

The Problem of Egypt and the Exodus in the Bible

I would say that is true of many places named in the bible. For instance, Asia in the bible certainly doesn't refer to the continent we call Asia today, which includes China, Japan, Vietnam, etc. A good bible atlas can be very helpful.

Life in the Tribal Bubble - The unReal world?

Not so. I know that by nature I was like that. As Paul wrote to the church at Ephesus: “And you He made alive, who were dead in trespasses and sins, in which you once walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit who now works in...

Life in the Tribal Bubble - The unReal world?

It is true that Christians are not taught in the bible to cut themselves off from non-Christians, but Christians are told not to forsake the assembling of themselves together: “And let us consider one another in order to stir up love and good works, not forsaking the assembling of ourselves...

    Yahweh or Jehovah?

Same name, different language. Like Peter, which is Pierre in French, Piotr in Polish and Petros in Greek.

Examining the supposed "Whole Bible" view. - No consensus?

I don't know whether there is such a thing as a whole bible view, unless it means the need, especially with passages that are difficulty to understand, to compare the passage we are reading/studying with the rest of scriptural teaching. For example, these words of Jesus: “"If anyone comes to...

    Limited atonement !

I don't think we will ever agree on this. We could keep answering each other's posts as we are doing, but I find that we are both repeating the same things that we have said before, which cannot be very edifying for others here. With that in mind, I am "bowing out" of this discussion. Thank...

    OSAS : Gnostic Heresy

Yes I agree. I can speak from experience. Before my conversion, I "went to church", read the bible, said prayers, sang hymns. However, nobody had ever told me that I was a sinner, and tat I needed to be saved. I was a "Christian" in name only, not in fact. Praise God, He did not leave me in...

    Limited atonement !

Yet I base what I believe on Scripture. I quote verses which make it abundantly clear that Jesus Christ died to save His people, whom He refers to as "sheep" or "My sheep." The sheep is not an analogy for the human race. Otherwise, there would be no point in Jesus saying that He laid down His...

    OSAS : Gnostic Heresy

Not if you are truly in it. However, one can seem (to other people, not to God) to be in it, bu doing things Christians do and saying things Christians say.
  17. David Lamb

    Limited atonement !

Not according to the bible. He died for the sheep. He had the name Jesus because He would save His people, not just make salvation a possibility for everybody: “"And she will bring forth a Son, and you shall call His name JESUS, for He will save His people from their sins."” (Mt 1:21 NKJV)...

    Limited atonement !

But if He had meant that they could become His sheep by believing, He would have said: "You are not my sheep because you do not believe." But He didn't say that. He told them that they did not believe because they were not of His sheep. No it doesn't: “"And other sheep I have which are not...

    OSAS : Gnostic Heresy

I believe that Paul is writing about people who were never truly believers to start with. As Barnes writes in his commentary: "It does not mean that, as individual, they would have been true Christians; but that there would be a departure from the great doctrines which constitute the Christian...

    Limited atonement !

Yet Jesus said: “"I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd gives His life for the sheep.” (Joh 10:11 NKJV) A few verses later He said to some Jews: “"But you do not believe, because you are not of My sheep, as I said to you.” (Joh 10:26 NKJV) If He died for the sheep, and those Jews were...
