Amil can only be proved to be true if Amils accept all of the following terms and convincingly satisfy these terms.

The only one is the one made with Israel in Jeremiah 31:31. All the times a New Testament is mentioned in the gospels and Paul's letters refer back to that one. Setting aside tradition, there is nowhere in the Bible that says God made a covenant with Christians. Of course we spiritualize...

I see now. Well if the Messianic Jews for Jesus say it, it has to be true? Where do the scriptures fit in?

I can see you have an idea on what a church is. You may want to look at the Greek word for "church" which is "ekklesia." It simply means an assembly of people with a common goal. You should see it used in Acts 19:32 describing an angry mob. It's also used in verses 39 & 41 of that same chapter...

You said, "They understand the New Covenant." I was wondering who the "They" was in the sentence, "They understand the New Covenant." That was beyond your comprehension?

Who is the "they?" Jer 31:31, Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel, and with the house of Judah: Nothing there about the church. There is not one verse anywhere that says God made a covenant with the church. Not one. Speaking of...

Where do thing a 1st century Jew's mind would have gone at the mention of a New Testament in Hebrews? Clearly it would not have gone to what the orthodox Church said about it. It'd seem to me it would have gone back to Jeremiah 31:31. Of course, being well versed in Jeremiah as well as the other...

That's not in Thayer/Strong. It's just how you interpret it, which is no guarantee for truth What about the 150+ plus verses that talk about land with friendly lines and snakes, rivers and blooms in the desert, vineyards and gardens, etc?

If you are basing it on what you sent me, you may want to reconsider your conclusion. From Hebrews 11:16 Greek: 2032 [e] epouraniou ἐπουρανίου . a heavenly [one] Adj-GFS That doesn't actually say it's in heaven. It says it's an adjective. Besides, it's never good to base a doctrine on just...

The Root question of Amillenial vs Premillenial

Interesting Zao pointing out that the Sadducees stopped arguing after Jesus gave them scriptures.

If that were the only verse on the matter, you might have something. However, there are hundreds of verses that talk about land. In any case, here's a more comprehensive guide on the genitive. Why not the second? Why must it be in the first? Just because you think so? You must have some...

The Root question of Amillenial vs Premillenial

Good stuf. I nevere saw that about zoe/zao. I just read somewhere else about why Jesus said, "God is not the God of the dead..." which said what you said. Considering all the scriptures that say dead people are dead and will remain so until Jesus returns, that makes way more sense. The dead...

The Root question of Amillenial vs Premillenial

As you say, it was certainly no secret that all the nations would be blessed in Abraham, but there is something that was kept secret until God revealed it to Paul. Rom 16:25, Now to him that is of power to stablish you according to my gospel, and the preaching of Jesus Christ, according to the...

The Root question of Amillenial vs Premillenial

I think you are right, especially about the trolls. But on the other hand, they may be seekers of truth. I don't know. But if they are I figure it can't hurt to give them ideas they may never have entertained. I probably should have disengaged a while ago, but like I told someone here it wasn't...

The Root question of Amillenial vs Premillenial

You shouldn't believer anything I say. In fact, it's a good idea not to believe what anybody says (including the ECFs) about the Bible. Sure, see what they have to say, but don't just blindly believe every word. The only 100% reliable source of truth are the scriptures. Whatever anybody says...

The Root question of Amillenial vs Premillenial

That's pretty close to the scriptures. I think close enough that God might give you a cigar!

The Root question of Amillenial vs Premillenial

I specifically said a few times now, not to believe anything I said. Take the time to read the Bible and see what God says. If you still don't like it, take it up with Him.

I read those verses in Hebrew three times to make sure I wasn't missing something, but sure enough, they don't say anything about a "spiritual" city. Are you sure you understand the word "spirit" as those to whom God wrote understood it? Yes, Jesus is presently in the heaven with God. He'll be...

The Root question of Amillenial vs Premillenial

Yes, for 17 centuries the orthodox church did align more with Plato than with the scriptures. It's something of a miracle that 19th theologians were able to dig through the error and get back to what Paul said.
