23 major reasons to reject the Premil doctrine!

Get a sheet of graph paper. Take your date for the division of the Kingdom between Rehoboam and Jeroboam. Go to 1 Kings and start plotting the reigns of BOTH kingdoms. You will be in a glorious muddle if you do not bother finding the coregencies.

23 major reasons to reject the Premil doctrine!

You don't seem to take into account co-regent reigns. For example Jotham's reign was concurrent with his father for a while because Azariah had leprosy.

Zelensky quotes Psalm to UK parliament

I have been praying for Zelensky. Its good to know that he has been praying too, but as a Jew, one more step will bring him to Jesus! Now, wouldnt that be more wonderful than a hundred Leopard tanks and F16's?

23 major reasons to reject the Premil doctrine!

So you would have heard of George Ladd? If not I would recommend his book, 'The Blessed Hope.' Actually I am Amil like WPM, but Ladd is respected by all endtime theologians.

23 major reasons to reject the Premil doctrine!

'Ignore ' is a useful tool when someone is adamant combined with ignorant. WPM may be adamant but he knows his subject well. So, even if you disagree with Amillennialism, you should not use 'ignore.' Listen up if you want a more broad understanding of eschatology.

I thought 7t7 would at least be respectful of Athenasius. He took on the Arians. He was a lion of orthodoxy!

prophecy questions about God's Timelines - invitation...

ATHENASIUS OF ALEXANDRIA (296-373 AD) Daniel foretells the exact time ... saying: "Seventy weeks are cut short upon thy people, and upon the holy city, for a full end to be made of sin, and for sins to be sealed up, and to blot out iniquities, and to make atonement for iniquities, and to bring...

I doubt that a persons 'heretic' or 'saint' status had anything to do with what we are talking about. My point here is that that the early church believed the seventy weeks to be hebtomads of years - not seven day weeks as you teach. I'll get another example for you.

And another one for you 7t7 and a heads up for all futurists. Early Christian historian Africanus. JULIUS AFRICANUS (160-240AD) "That the passage (Daniel 9) speaks then of the advent of Christ, who was to manifest Himself after seventy weeks, is evident. For in the Saviour’s time, or from Him...

Here is another one. Note: hebtomads is an old fashioned word for 'weeks.' TERTULLIAN (160-225 AD) "In the Psalms it is prophesied, "They exterminated my hands and feet." And the suffering of this "extermination" was perfected within the times of the lxx hebdomads, under Tiberius Caesar." (An...

prophecy questions about God's Timelines - invitation...

Im sure we could nit pick about most of the Church fathers. My point here is simply to say they treated Daniel's 70 weeks as 'weeks of years', not weeks of days. Even the Jews speak of the weeks as years. Would you like some more examples?

When Was The Book Of Revelation Written?

Agreed. Be aware though, Amills like myself are not Preterists. The 70 weeks are past, yes, but not the second coming.

Sorry, not 'Against Celsus.' My reference should have been De Principiis, Book 4, Chapter 1, Sec. 5. But while I have your ear, here is another even earlier writing, EPISTLE of BARNABUS (80-120 AD) "Let us inquire, then, if there still is a temple of God. There is--where He himself...

prophecy questions about God's Timelines - invitation...

mmm, :IDK: Josephus had to be careful what he said in front of the Romans. Anyway, here is another quote concerning the 'weeks of years.' Actually all futurists will love this one. ORIGEN (184-253 AD) "The weeks of years, also, which the prophet Daniel had predicted, extending to the...

prophecy questions about God's Timelines - invitation...

I don't think Irenaeus *neglected* Luke 21:20. Some of the the Church fathers saw the 'abomination' as the re-starting of animal sacrifice after Christ had finished it. For example EUSEBIUS (263-339 AD) "Half way through this (70th) week, during which He confirmed the said Covenant with many...

prophecy questions about God's Timelines - invitation...

Sorry to keep you waiting. Lets start with Irenaeus (140-202 AD) As we can see, he lived about 1400 years before the reformers were even thought of. And yes, he considers the 'weeks' to be that of years - not days. Also, please notice: Irenaeus alludes to an abomination taking place following...

@ Truth7t7 Im trying to assemble the posts relating to whether Daniel's 'weeks' were 7-day weeks or 7-year weeks. Please forgive me if some of these posts are out of sequence. If this what you are saying, I would like to make the point Covenantee made, "Africanus, Eusebius, Tertullian, and...

So, you do not accept Martin Luther, and on another post you disparage Isaac Newton on the grounds that reformed eschatology wrongly count 490 years instead of 490 days. You also dismiss Moses sabbatical years as being the same thing Daniel’s weeks. Would you like me to provide quotes from the...
