As for you, let what you have heard from the beginning remain in you. If it does, you will also remain in the Son and in the Father. 1 John 2:24
Therefore, since we have a great high priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold firmly to what we profess. Hebrews 4:14
Let us hold resolutely to the hope we profess, for He who promised is faithful. Hebrews 10:23
Yes, what you have heard from the beginning...remain in you.
When you were in your beginning stage...
And you first heard about God...Did you say, oh...I believe?
A beginning stage is an introduction.
We mimic...Open a book, first page, "INTRODUCTION", brief on what to expect to learn more about. And with diligence of Learning ABOUT, gaining Knowledge...
Your mind is...oh interesting, uh dumb, oh nice, uh doubt it, humm maybe, uh deny...
Keep learning...
Or
Close the book and stop listening.
That occurs for every new topic, including learning ABOUT God.
The Disciples, listened, heard, believed, doubted, followed, wondered, denied, listened some more, and more, and believed, and confessed belief....
Except for Judas....Judas is likened to closing his ears, shutting the book, had enough, rejected....and so also did people in the crowds as Jesus preached....
THEY got the introduction...that sparked their interest.
THEY heard a bit....heard something their MIND could not believe....and QUIT....being ignorant...that it was NOT THEIR LOGICAL CARNAL MIND that was being preached to....
BUT Rather their heart and soul.
The Disciples...primary teachers after Jesus...
Think about it....Disciples 3 years DAILY with Jesus...(Compare to men today, maybe 1 hour a week)...
Not doubting the great amount of time the Disciples spent with Jesus, Heard from Jesus, Learned from Jesus.....really so much, it could not all be written.
Now these men, go out preaching, spreading the Word of God....traveling, (some writing letters).... but think about it...
The LISTENERS (crowds)... Really HOW MUCH DID "THEY" hear?
A couple of hours?
A couple of times?
All new information they had not before heard?
Pretty overwhelming. Men they do not know, come to their town, Speak things, about a man they do not know, Speaking of His perfection, His miracles, His promises....
Pretty wild.
Yes...every encounter, visit, letter, the TEACHERS, IN Christ, absolutely reminded, to KEEP all things they DID Learn, IN rememberence, hold on to it, AND teach others to do the same.
Just as us...Remember the OT men, their doings, without knowing all details, like is afforded us now...
And TODAY, men all talking about the ENDING of days....but pretty much ignoring, the ORDER and WAY of the beginning, that brought us to our generation.
Encouraging men who ONLY heard the "introduction"...and walked away in disbelief...
OPEN the book, with patience, follow the order and way, for YOUR OWN KNOWLEDGE, not just skip to end, and expect to understand.
Glory to God,
Taken
