I am glad God is not the father that make him out to be.. Imagine if a human parent did what they claim God would do. We would mock that parent as unlovingGod will chasten His childen.

amen, Another issue, God knows all. We will NEVER surprise hi by anything we do. In fact, He knew all things BEFORE he saved us.So true! But God knows exactly what we will do, knowing exactly who we are.
Abraham believed God, and God reckoned that to Abraham for righteousness. Abraham believed, and God justified him.
it sure sounded that way, As if it was not a miracle
That has NO BEARING on ones salvation. or if they have had a miracle beforeMm...no. I wasn't saying it wasn't an answered prayer. I was saying that God did not manifest through you. You have to be IN the plane for that, which is different than being led by the Spirit.
That has NO BEARING on ones salvation. or if they have had a miracle before
Jesus healed a mans child by simple prayer. even thought jesus was no where near. Was not that miracle manifest through Jesus?
And yet, though it is the goal and our hope, no man can work his way into it and only God can take him into the "plane."
Yes of course God is our judge. We are not to judge.Correct. GOD said he was righteous because of his trust. That's the righteousness that is by faith. But it is not the same as Gods righteousness and holiness. AND, God is the judge, not men. So no man can make the pronouncement that he is righteous, he must leave that to God. So you read that God reckoned him as righteous because of his faith, but does that mean you are now able to say, I trust God too, therefore I am righteous? That's YOU making the judgement and that is not humility. So let God be your judge.

Amen, Jesus showed what Paul preached.. The law was never given as a means to help us become righteous people. It was not given for that purpose..
Luke 1:5 There was in the days of Herod, the king of Judaea, a certain priest named Zacharias, of the course of Abia: and his wife was of the daughters of Aaron, and her name was Elisabeth.
6 And they were both righteous before God, walking in all the commandments and ordinances of the Lord blameless.
What do you base this on? What does that mean to you, "God manifest through you"?I was saying that God did not manifest through you.
Jesus was showing that even if they thought they were keeping the commandment by not lifting a hand against someone, in their hatred they were still guilty of murder. And though they never touched a woman, in their lust they were still guilty of adultery. This was the final coffin nail for those who thought they could be righteous by monitoring their behavior. No, the real issue is much deeper than that.
Keeping of Law was never going to work for the people. It's not about our behavior. It's about what race of humanity we are a part of. Children of Adam, or children of God? Children of Adam share the death promised to Adam. Children of God share the eternal life promised to Christ.
Much love!
God will chasten His childen.
We can be obedient to God at different distances. I think Marks puts everything on the new birth as being all there is...not realizing that the new birth is into a much higher and harder race.
God is righteous. There are no free rides., To whom much is given MORE is required. So then whatever level we are on...we must be obedient to THAT level.
otherwise this next verse would have been impossible...
Whether present or absent from the Lord we are to walk in a way that is pleasing to Him. God has billions of examples of what we can do both with Him and without Him. So we are to run to make the grade. We are in a race of faith. Run to win.
God who loves His children will "never leave or forsake us".I am glad God is not the father that make him out to be.. Imagine if a human parent did what they claim God would do. We would mock that parent as unloving
amen, as the good book says before time beganEven before He created us!
:)
AmenIndeed! The law cannot make anyone righteous. Any more than flapping your arms can make you an airplane!
Much love!
The words never, eternal seem to be foreign words to workers,, they symbolism them As we see in the Eucharist threadGod who loves His children will "never leave or forsake us".
As in . . . never.
How are you ever able to enter His rest when you believe it's on you to perform the obedience by which God will justify you?Amen
yet people want to profess obedience is how we get to heaven, that’s the same as flipping your arms,, you can never be good enough so stop working and give the yoke to, Jesus, and as he said he will give you rest
