REB Be on your guard, do not let your minds be dulled by dissipation and worldly cares, so that the great Day catches you suddenly, like a trap. For that Day will come upon everyone, the whole world over. Be on the alert, praying at all times for the strength to pass through all that is coming and to stand in the presence of the Son of Man.

Therefore the REB gives the correct translation.
Hi Keraz,
The more I think about it, I think your thoughts on a CME occuring have a lot of merit, and I wouldn't be surprised to find that this is what will fulfill certain prophecies.
On this part above . . .
from Scripture4all.org

ekphugien, the lexical form, ekphugo, a conjoined word from Ek, "out of", and pheugo, A few examples:
Act 16:27 And the keeper of the prison awaking out of his sleep, and seeing the prison doors open, he drew out his sword, and would have killed himself, supposing that the prisoners had been fled.
Act 19:16 And the man in whom the evil spirit was leaped on them, and overcame them, and prevailed against them, so that they fled out of that house naked and wounded.
2Co 11:33 And through a window in a basket was I let down by the wall, and escaped his hands.
Rom 2:3 And thinkest thou this, O man, that judgest them which do such things, and doest the same, that thou shalt escape the judgment of God?
Pheugo itself appears in:
Mat 8:33 And they that kept them fled, and went their ways into the city,
Mar 13:14 But when ye shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, standing where it ought not, (let him that readeth understand,) then let them that be in Judaea flee to the mountains:
Joh 10:5 And a stranger will they not follow, but will flee from him: for they know not the voice of strangers.
1Co 10:14 Wherefore, my dearly beloved, flee from idolatry.
Heb 11:34 Quenched the violence of fire, escaped the edge of the sword, out of weakness were made strong, waxed valiant in fight, turned to flight the armies of the aliens.
I don't thing "pass through" is the correct understanding here. I think it's more on the lines of, To Run Away.
Much love!
