If you are quoting scripture to debate a point against others quoting other scriptures, without reconciling the two scriptures -- you are quoting scripture just like Satan!

If so, you are also documenting your own failure of the testing of every spirit (1 John 4:1), for God is not against Himself, therefore scripture cannot be against scripture.

All scripture must be reconciled with all scripture, and to do otherwise is to aid in the works of Satan.

Don't do that!

When Satan quoted scripture to Jesus and Jesus quoted scripture back to Satan in rebuttal, it could only be determined who was telling the truth by how each quote reconciled with the rest of scripture. But even here on a Christian forum, there are many who drop a scripture quote in here and there to make claims that cannot be reconciled with the rest of scripture. And even here, the one quote does not prove the other quote wrong (God is not against Himself). All it proves is that one person's other claims either agree with the rest of scripture or they do not...and that one person is WRONG, practicing the ways of Satan, and spreading deception.

And having a right to your own opinion, is not a license to quote scripture that you cannot reconcile with the rest of scripture. That is not an opinion, that is an act against God and His people.

Don't do that!

I'd give triple likes if I could!

And don't just say, "it doesn't mean what it says" because somehow you can't fit it into the rest of what you think!

(If I may be so bold to add . . .)

Much love!

Yeah, I realize this is quite a rant. But it's just that it's so ironic for those of us who look to Christ for the salvation of God, to be interacting with each other, with some unknowingly helping Satan to divide us by the same misuse of scripture as that original liar.

We ought to, and I would certainly recommend to all, that we should be asking ourselves before every post, "Can I reconcile all of what I am saying with the scripture that I am posting as well as every other scripture?" If we cannot, we should not post it...like "be silent in church."
