You don't respect church theologians? Why is that? Are you of the same faith?
Hey I was reading about the times of Jacobs troubles which is mentioned to be the same as the Great Tribulation....and it mentions the Daniel 70th week....so this goes back to the Jewish Calendar and feasts and tabernacles and trumpets.....anyway....I have seen numerous posts that show the event to take place at the final 70th week....Ephraem; 4th century.
That's a nice piece of work, but your sole support appears to be from one late 4th century theologian. Even if I had the text in my possession, I wouldn't count this as very strong support, regardless of this discussion or any other one on the topic. I can't think of a single church theologian I greatly respect outside Tertullian. I think this is what I saw before, and why I referred to it as dubious.
But your piece looks well written, I'll at least give you that.
Wouldn't one think that 3rd century theologians may have had a clue compared to now, when we live in a time that is prophesied to be a time of deception?Greatly respect. And yes, certainly I am of the same faith, but not always of the same interpretations, especially of most theologians from the 3rd century on.

Since you are a Greek/Hebrew scholar does this diagram present the correct time frame?

Well those schooled by the Holy Spirit have the highest degree possible in the wisdom, knowledge and understanding of God's Word......those who are well educated in book knowledge can only grow within the means of the context of the book....those taught by the Anointed Mentor...the Spirit of Truth even scientists cannot perceive to comprehend.Not sure where you got that, but it would take some serious work trying to make it all out, LoL. They are tying the timing if events in Revelations to the Jewish feasts, which is involved.
Btw, "Greek and Hebrew scholar" is stretching it a little. :) Serious student of Greek, yes. I would reserve the word scholar for those with PhD level educations.
@Hidden In Him
You know I will catch up with you on that later....PM me if you want. I am sick of Rapture threads....going to go do some meditating on your Thessalonian studies.

Well, the truth remains with the remnant even in the darkest of times.There's a lot of deception now as well, unfortunately, but it had its foundation in the early centuries after Christ. Doctrines became corrupt fairly quickly. I would honor several of them over much of what we have today, but that's not saying much, LoL.

Good point about the Spirit giving light and understanding through the Word of God! :)Well those schooled by the Holy Spirit have the highest degree possible in the wisdom, knowledge and understanding of God's Word......those who are well educated in book knowledge can only grow within the means of the context of the book....those taught by the Anointed Mentor...the Spirit of Truth even scientists cannot perceive to comprehend.
Ephraim was way before Darby folks!
Well, the truth remains with the remnant even in the darkest of times.
Further proof of a pre-trib rapture can be found in 2 Thess. 2. Where it's stated that the Day of the Lord cannot come until the apostasy comes first. We used to read the word apostasy to mean a departure from the faith. In this context it may mean a departure from this world.
The next verses in 2 Thess say that the antichrist can't come until he is taken out of the way, that is the Holy Spirit living in believers.
Friends, we can be more certain of a pre tribulation rapture than ever, both from a wide understanding of context all throughout scripture, to plainly stated specific passages like in 2 Thess.
Our Lord Jesus Christ taught that He might come back at any time, suddenly, imminently, without any notice or signs. The most important characteristic of Christ's return is that it could happen without warning, suddenly, catching us off guard if we're not faithfully serving our Master...
