I found great synonyms for "redemption" on the new Thesaurus.com!
Salvation and redemption are both in Christ and what He did on the cross, not what we do. The ransom has been paid in full. This is why salvation is a gift.
Titus 2:11-14 For the grace of God has appeared,
bringing salvation for all people, training us to renounce ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright, and godly lives in the present age, waiting for our blessed hope, the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ,
who gave himself for us to redeem (lutroó) us from all lawlessness and to purify for himself a people for his own possession who are zealous for good works.
1 Pet 1:18-23
For you know that it was not with perishable things such as silver or gold that you were redeemed (lutroó) from the empty way of life handed down to you from your ancestors, 19but with the precious blood of Christ, a lamb without blemish or defect. 20He was chosen before the creation of the world, but was revealed in these last times for your sake. 21Through him you believe in God, who raised him from the dead and glorified him, and so your faith and hope are in God. 22Now that you have purified yourselves by obeying the truth so that you have sincere love for each other, love one another deeply, from the heart. 23For you have been born again, not of perishable seed, but of imperishable, through the living and enduring word of God.

the redemption (apolutrósis) of our bodies. 24For in this hope we were saved. But hope that is seen is no hope at all. Who hopes for what they already have? 25But if we hope for what we do not yet have, we wait for it patiently.
