The path to salvation was in the beginning;
BELIEF in God.
Then we find laws, and curses, and precepts, and forgiveness, and what ALL IS God, and what becomes changed on conversion, for the BELIEVING, etc.

The simplicity of Belief in God IS the Lord, Gods Word, Gods Power, God Himself, and calling on Him to confess BELIEF.

The path is narrow, and few walk on it.
Some avoid the path altogether;
And some just barely step on the path;
Ie such as the thief;
And some step on the path and hit bumps along the way;
And some step on the path and scurry along building a strong relationship with the Lord being very driven to glorify the Lords name on earth.

Point being; Those on the path are testified of in the Kingdom of Heaven.

Some are called Great in the Kingdom.

Some shall receive few rewards.
Some shall receive many rewards.

Is the thiefs way, the most ideal way? No.
But it is acceptable to God.

In the beginning Gods desired men to Believe IN Him.

well, imo if the whole point of Christian Salvation is "Life, more abundantly," then deathbed profession rituals are just that, but then who are we kidding Christians are mostly kidding themselves anyway i guess. We're pretty much all playing "who can be the least pagan" imo. or the most, lol

Of course my point is simply that I cannot know that a person on his death bed was or was not saved unless God let me in on the final decision for that particular case. He has not done that for me for anyone yet. As I though I said, generally, I would say that people who express an interest in repentance at that late point in time probably have an underlying motive, but not being God how can I know for sure. This is why I would avoid making a final ruling. The fortunate thing for most people is... it is not my job. Some people as you may have noticed from time to time make definite statements that would effective damn people such as: "If you are not in my boat, you are lost".

Sometimes I may have been "playing" in ignorance, but when it comes to the things of God I hope that I always have my heart turned toward Him. If any of us are "playing" as if we are going to fool Him, it would seem to me that we might as well just jump in with both feet and live like the devil.

There is an old song the words of the one phrase which I want to speak and mean and live accordingly: "I love Him too much to fail Him now". Some OSAS people think they are there, but I have some very serious doubts about them. I don't however condemn them. Not my job.

It's only funny to you because you're Scripturally-bankrupt.

The Scriptures assure us that we as Christians are ALREADY SAVED (Rom. 5:1, 8:24, Eph. 2:5–8)
This is Initial Salvation – God give us the initial grace to believe.

However, because Salvation is a LIFELONG process – it ALSO says that I am BEING SAVED (1 Cor. 1:8, 2 Cor. 2:15, 7:1, Phil. 2:12, Heb 12:14).
This is Ongoing Sanctification – God is sanctifying us throughout our life as we cooperate with his grace.

Because of this, I have the hope that I WILL BE SAVED (Matt. 24:13, Rom. 5:9–10, 1 Cor. 3:12–15).
This is Final Sanctification/Salvation – We die and go to heaven having endured to the end.
