The idea of the Trinity argues that Jesus must be both God and man to be our Savior. If he were just a human, they ask, how could he bear the sins of everyone? It seems fitting to make grand statements about Jesus. Often, we struggle to honor our Savior enough for his immense sacrifice, so why not express our admiration fully? This is partly how the concept of the Trinity emerged, responding to views that Jesus was simply a man. As people defended our Savior, their claims grew bolder, evolving from him being a perfect man and Son of God to ultimately declaring him as God himself. This led to extreme reactions against anyone who suggested Jesus was anything less than divine. History shows that John Calvin executed Michael Servetus for denying the Trinity. As the flames were lit, Servetus called out, “Oh thou Son of the eternal God, have pity on me.” One witness remarked that they might have felt sympathy if he had said, “Oh Eternal Son of God.” Why does church history often lack compassion and kindness? “By this shall all men know ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another” (John 13:35). If only God’s followers had shown as much dedication to their faith as they did to their church institutions, church history would be much more compassionate. In a church focused on dominating the world, love and kindness are often missing.

He came to save humanity from damnation taking on flesh and a soul and raise that soul to heaven which could not be done by any other human being in the history of humanity.A normal human being cannot raise themselves up on their own to eternal life.It why he came and became man because we cannot thanks to the fall of humanity. He is not a new human being created at birth he is God who took on the form of man in order to save humanity which is the Fathers will.Basic Christianity.

God became a man so that we could relate. THE Man pressed the flesh.....he identified with our weakness and sorrows so that we could have confidence that God understands.....and although he came close to us, what did we do? Ohhhhh the shame of it!

It’s because reading the Bible and using it contextually puts holes in the pockets of those who just desire to be deemed “a good man,” I suppose. I know that when you use the Bible contextually and not with a presupposed position of what one may think or believe concerning what is truly going on within the confines of the Bible, people look at those whom do so as “self-righteous” or they are looked at as “unteachable”, or they are looked at as “because they don’t believe like I do” (or my group does) they aren’t saved.

Majority votes win a lot of the time, and those who don’t agree with the status quo of what their congregation instates; they are simply out of the fold.

It’s a mentality. Nothing more, and sometimes those mentalities don’t really work in what is shared in the Bible itself. It’s much easier to go on a presupposition rather than one’s own thoughts and wondering and answers founded within the Bible itself.

So it becomes a us against them type of mentality and you can see it if a person is discerning enough to understand this is what is being shown.

I continue to maintain no one should ever believe me, but see what the Bible says.

Scripture says all have sinned, means all mankind and there is none righteous, no not one.
Christ then has to be more than man, must also be God as Christ was without sin.

Hmmm ... weren't Adam and Eve without sin before they sinned? Were they God?
So true about Adam and Eve, and those that ignore this fact, and pay little concern to it are usually the Trinitarians/Binitarians. They think that Yahshua had be more that just a humble and loving man who was also born and then possessed by his God's spirit. The perfect agent of his God. I would think he would then be more than the average Joe, without the propensity to sin, as Adam. No they also want him the same God as his Father. How extreme and impossible. God does not make copies of himself. aka offspring.

I s'pose because parents don't produce copies of themselves, God doesn't either.

Exactly, as God is one and will stay only of one kind, and does not command himself to populate the tiny planet we call earth QT...too funny

The Roman and Greek mystics would agree with you though///they are into godmen

Why Does the Savior Need to Be Both God and Man?

The theology books say He needed to be God in order to be sinless. But I'm going to throw out the theology books this time.

God had to become one of us in order to die our death for us.

Why Does the Savior Need to Be Both God and Man?

Scripture tells us.

ManKIND … cannot SEE God.

ManKIND’S…natural instinct, IS TO BELIEVE, what they CAN SEE.

A newborn’s INSTINCT is to BELIEVE, (without UNDERSTING), that which the newborn TRUSTS.

Newborn…hungry?
Newborn…cold?
Newborn…soiled?
Newborn…afraid?
Newborn…comforted?
Newborn…taught?
Newborn…given satisfactory attention?
On and on…relationship /mothers role / fathers role…and IF they DO NOT…babe will grow and SEEK “something” “someone” else to fill their natural desires for “Trust”.

And “IF” a newborn, babe, child I reared…Trusting their human Parents….
BY RECEIPT OF GOOD satisfactory RESULTS” (without Understanding)…

Scripture itself, teaches the SAME concept…TO manKIND…for manKIND to have a relationship WITH God….
Without Seeing, Without Understanding… Good Satisfactory RESULTS FOR the man.

However…that IS NOT the Answer to the OP QUESTION.

Why Does the Savior Need to Be Both God and Man?

Background…
Heaven and Earth…ARE two different WORLDS…
* A Celestial World…
With Created and Made Celestial inhabitants.
Whereby the inhabitants are MADE Never subject TO DIE.
* A Terrestrial World…
With Created and Made Terrestrial inhabitants Expressly MADE (Required/ Shall) subject to Bodily Die.

Anciently, Historically, Presently…
Celestial Beings…ARE SPIRITS, (invisible) to human eyes.
* Have authority AND power To descend, go, visit, the World called EARTH.
* They have the Power TO APPEAR (to human EYES)… as a shadow, a cloudy mist, an animal, a human.
* AND…have the Power TO “ENTER IN”…the Living or Dead BODY’S of animals, Or Human Men…
* AND…have the Power TO “INFLUENCE” … humans…To Believe and Trust and rely ON THEM…(with or without Understanding)…
* Yet AGAIN…with the “humans” “satisfactory RESULTS”.
(The human gets results he likes, through, cheating, lying, theft, trickery, deceit, etc….his RESULT is satisfactory and acceptable to him to Trust and Continue.)

However…THAT is NOT the answer to the OP QUESTION.
