The prophets of old knew Him as LORD; YHWH the LORD God.
That’s who Jesus Christ is.
Do you understand that YHWH the LORD God Almighty became flesh?
No, sorry I do not hold that belief at all since no Scripture calls Jesus Yahweh…ever.
What did Jesus call himself? That is who he said he was.…”the Son of God”…..(John 10:31-36)
And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness:
God was manifested in the flesh,
Justified in the Spirit,
Seen by angels,
Preached among the Gentiles,
Believed on in the world,
Received up in glory.
1 Timothy 3:16
That is a translation error….the Scripture in 1 Tim 3:16 does not say “God was manifested in the flesh”.
In context from vs 14-16….NASB…
“ I am writing these things to you, hoping to come to you before long; but in case I am delayed, I write so that you will know how one ought to conduct himself in the household of God, which is the church of the living God, the pillar and support of the truth. By common confession, great is the mystery of godliness:
He who was revealed in the flesh,
Was vindicated in the Spirit,
Seen by angels,Proclaimed among the nations,
Believed on in the world,
Taken up in glory.”
The word “godliness“ used there and spoken of as a mystery, is “
eusebeia” and according to Strongs, it means
- reverence, respect
- piety towards God, godliness
the doctrine that promotes godliness,
1 Timothy 6:3 [see κατά, II. 3 d.]; ἡ ἀλήθεια ἡ κατ’ εὐσέβειαν
, the truth that leads to godliness,
Titus 1:1; τὸ μυστήριον τῆς εὐσεβείας,
the mystery which is held by godliness and nourishes it, 1 Timothy 3:16”
So it promotes godliness…leads to godliness….nourishes godliness….
Speaking of Jesus, we see that he did all those things.
John 1:1 is a mistranslation too because there are two “gods” mentioned in that verse….but only one is Yahweh…the other is his divine son….his “firstborn”…the only being in existence who was a direct creation of his Father. All creation came from the Father by means of the Son, which does not make him “God” with a capital “G”, but a “divine mighty one” which is the meaning of “theos“ in Greek.
If you look at the Interlinear you will see that “the Word was with God” (“ho theos” Yahweh) and that “the Word was a god” (“theos”) but not “THE God” (ho theos). It was the Word who became flesh not his God.
Its such a little word but in John 1:1 it speaks volumes about how accurately trinitarians translators rendered that verse, now THE trinitarians proof text…..but on careful study, it is nothing of the sort.
John 1:18 in the same chapter tells us that
“no man has seen God at any time”…did John contradict himself?
Did all the apostles contradict John when they identified the God that they collectively worshipped?
1 Cor 8:5-6…
“ For even if there are so-called gods whether in heaven or on earth, as indeed there are many gods and many lords, yet for us there is but one God, the Father, from whom are all things and we exist for Him; and one Lord, Jesus Christ, by whom are all things, and we exist through Him.”
Their “one God” was the Father…..and their “one Lord” was Jesus Christ. The title “Lord” for Christendom became another word for God, when it is merely a title of respect…one used by slaves to address their masters. A title Sarah used for Abraham….so much is read into those titles that simply isn’t there.
How can mere humans kill an immortal God? This is why the Creator “sent” his son to die for us….the one he appointed as a “mediator between God and men”…..the mediator is there to reconcile two estranged parties…so he cannot be one of the parties. If Jesus was God, we would need a mediator between us and him as well.
Once you see the gaping holes in the trinity, the whole of Christendom’s house of spiritual cards, collapses.
It is a disunited and bickering mess of conflicting beliefs…..no place for God, his Christ or the Holy Spirit to accomplish anything good.
