YOU have been claiming God is not omnipotent and omniscient with this thread along with your lousy hermeneutics. On top of this you destroy God's diety with your ridiculous notions of God being some sort of supernatural human.

Really?
This is the god you worship? He sounds extremely small and puny next to mine who truly exists.
Actually it was you who made those ridiculous claims when you said that God cannot understand tongues.

We gotta make sure they are holy brethren

Current observation confirms that the miracle of tongues has ceased. If the gift were still available today, there would be no need for missionaries to attend language school. Missionaries would be able to travel to any country and speak any language fluently, just as the apostles were able to speak in Acts 2. As for the miracle gift of healing, we see in Scripture that healing was associated with the ministry of Jesus and the apostles (Luke 9:1–2). And we see that as the era of the apostles drew to a close, healing, like tongues, became less frequent. The Apostle Paul, who raised Eutychus from the dead (Acts 20:9–12), did not heal Epaphroditus (Philippians 2:25–27), Trophimus (2 Timothy 4:20), Timothy (1 Timothy 5:23), or even himself (2 Corinthians 12:7–9). The reasons for Paul’s “failures to heal” are 1) the gift was never intended to make every Christian well, but to authenticate apostleship; and 2) the authority of the apostles had been sufficiently proved, making further miracles unnecessary. The reasons stated above are evidence for cessationism. According to 1 Corinthians 13:13–14:1, we would do well to “pursue love,” the greatest gift of all. If we are to desire gifts, we should desire to speak forth the Word of God, that all may be edified.

@David in NJ hope that helps!

Here i fixed this for you = Current UNBELIEF confirms that the miracle of tongues has ceased to be experienced.

All you are doing is projecting your unbelief upon scripture by misapplication and adding your own 2 cents - very bad thing to do!!!

God established the Gifts for the Bride of Christ for Her DURATION until She is "Face to Face" with Her Husband, the LORD Jesus Christ.

1 Corinthians 1:4-9
thank my God always concerning you for the grace of God which was given to you by Christ Jesus, 5that you were enriched in everything by Him in all utterance and all knowledge, 6even as the testimony of Christ was confirmed in you, 7so that you come short in no gift, eagerly waiting for the revelation of our Lord Jesus Christ, 8who will also confirm you to the end, that you may be blameless in the day of our Lord Jesus Christ. 9God is faithful, by whom you were called into the fellowship of His Son, Jesus Christ our Lord.

1Corinthians chapter 1 BEGINS with the God given DURATION of His Gifts for those who BELIEVE His words.
1 Corinthians chapters 13 and 14 REPEAT God given DURATION of His Gifts for those who BELIEVE His words.

Requirement for all Blessings from Above: Hebrews 11:6
But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.

Are feeling ok or maybe a little under the weather?

This statement of yours is ludicrous:
"It's noted you highlighted sections which you felt supported your view and ignored those very clear statements of Paul."

FACT Check: I highlighted EXACTLY that Paul wrote that the HS gifts will cease.

From my Post #133

So let us start where God has strictly specified the 'when' Holy Spirit gifts cease/end.

1 Corinthians 13:8-12
Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be restrained; where there is knowledge, it will be dismissed. 9For we know in part and we prophesy in part, 10but when the perfect comes, the partial passes away.

11When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I set aside childish ways.
12Now we see but a dim reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face.
Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known.

If you refuse to believe this clear instruction from the Lord, how will you be ever able to know the truth on this subject?
You lose credibility with you copy, paste and repost. Cherry picking wont lead you to truth David.

If you don't know what you are saying or intending to say how should God know is the scripture you are torturing to say its between two people.

Well.....I guess if "google" is God to some, so be it.

Which other Biblical issues do you like to throw at "google"?
Google doesn't interest me. Questions asked require answers from breathing, thinking human beings. If they refuse to think or run for the hills because they feel threatened, a cul de sac is arrived at.

Requires spiritual discernment, I suppose.
Even in English.

1 Corinthians 14:29 NIV
Two or three prophets should speak, and the others should weigh carefully what is said.

[
To make things simple for dumbo's like myself there's got to be a graspable clear answer.
Spiritual discernment is relative to interpretation and there are plenty of 'prophets' around or at least those who consider themselves so....and from what I can tell, they are rambling 'tickets on themselves' mumbo jumbo pedlars.

You speak thus because you do not know the scriptures. 2 Corinthians 11:14-15
You don't know so you this is your only response. Why do you keep coming up short? Can you identify the Satan? Who is Paul referring to? Show Bible text to support your answer. Also show context. Who is the adversary Paul is speaking of.

f2f...I have your measure on these matters. The fact is irrespective of what I present, you have decided what you have decided.

We have lost so much ground spiritually in the church.
And typically those who run after prophets have no spiritual discernment of their own.

The easy practical advice would be to "go with your gut."
Or develop your spiritual ears by actually talking to God. (horrors)

a man's/ woman's words reveal what they have or have not embraced/ understood irrespective of what they claim they have.

I guess that should be obvious.
How does that apply to prophets who ARE speaking from God?
Can you separate the wheat from the chaff?

Or, do you take the position that there are no prophets that speak from God today? (read my signature line verse)

Just thinking that the Church (with a capital "C") does have some pressing needs right now - and I can't help but wonder what other useful gifts the Holy Spirit might give us, gifts that might not even be listed in 1 Corinthians. If we were just open to it.
ABSOLUTELY!

ABSOLUTELY!
I was in a healing meeting some years ago when someone asked for prayer for a man in another city that had an inactive bladder. (???)
I cell phone call to a relative let them know that we were praying for him.
The relative called the man with the bladder issue to let him know that we were praying for him.
When they picked up the call, they were mopping up the mess. His bladder had miraculously started working.
