The time frames of events of Revelation that will take place here on earth are...

in the first half
1260 days Revelation 11:3, Revelation 12:6

in the second half
3 1/2 days Revelation 11:11
42 months Revelation 11:2, Revelation 13:5
time, times, half time Revelation 12:14

Why the different time frame expressions - and not all as simply 1260 days ? I will explain.

The difference is because of two short events that will take place.

(1) the 3 1/2 days the two witnesses bodies lay dead in the streets in Jerusalem.

(2) the undisclosed time for the war in the second heaven between Michael and his angels against Satan and his angels. It is undisclosed because only the time frames are given for events that take place here on earth.

So, we end up with two simple similar single line formulas that each total 7 years.

1260 days + 3 1/2 days + 42 months (1256 1/2 days) = 2520 days (7 years)

1260 days + the undisclosed war in the second heaven time + the time, times, half time = 2520 days (7 years)

It's a symbolic book for you to intuitively decode. It's esoteric. It's hard to decipher.
It wasn't written to be taken litteraly and for you to simply make up a time line for it and be done with it.

Being able to understand the symbolism within this book can take a lifetime of study.

42 months in revelation 11:2 is the same 1260 days in revelation 11:3.

1260 days= 42 months on the Hebrew calendar.

If, in Revelation, the two time frames were exact equals of 1260 days - then why 42 months in one verse and 1260 days in the very next verse ? Why not 1260 days for both verses ?

Why not 1260 days for Revelation 13:5 ?

Why not 1260 days for Revelation 12:14 ?

The time frames are not symbolic. There is symbolism in Revelation, but not the time frames.

Because John wrote revelation and not you.
The gentiles along with their two leaders will occupy Jerusalem 42 months(1260 days).

Revelation 11
. 2 But exclude the outer court; do not measure it, because it has been given to the Gentiles. They will trample on the holy city for 42 months. 3 And I will appoint my two witnesses, and they will prophesy for 1,260 days, clothed in sackcloth.

Same story line
Same time period

The whole thing is symbolic. None of it is to be taken litteraly.
I suggest that you start yourself a separate thread about Revelation being all symbolic, where you and others of similar mindset can discuss the symbolic/non literal view of Revelation.

John did not make up the two verses of Revelation 11:2-3 himself. Revelation 11:2 is the angel speaking to John. Revelation 11:3 is the angel speaking on behalf of God.

John recorded what he angel said.

Revelation 11

No, two different time periods. Of events that will happen in the first half, and of events that will happen in the second half, of the 7 years.

False.
They are not two separate time periods as the gentiles occupy Jerusalem the same time the two gentile witness leaders occupy Jerusalem.

And when the two leaders give the command to fire, their gentile army opens fire.

Much like the IDF currently works today.Only Netanyahu will not be bothered with the draft any longer.Netanyahu would consider that in itself a win.

PS
John wrote revelation.
He wrote the two sentences which speak of the same event and same time period.

But the court which is without the temple leave out, and measure it not; for it is given unto the Gentiles: and the holy city shall they tread under foot forty and two months.
And I will give power unto my two witnesses, and they shall prophesy a thousand two hundred and threescore days, clothed in sackcloth.

These two sentences are talking about the same subject and same time period.

Period!!!!!

Yes, John wrote what he saw and heard. (except for the 7 thunders, and the name of the beast, and the name of the false prophet - both of which were probably spoken when the voices of the 7 thunders spoke. John also did not reveal what the mark of the beast is. So that was also probably something spoken when the voices of the 7 thunders spoke.)

No they are two different events. And yes in the same time period of 7 years.

The 42 months and the 1260 days are not exactly equal in duration. The 42 months and the 1260 days do not run concurrently with each other, but in a sequence, separately by 3 1/2 days... which total 2520 days (7 years) .

1260 days + 3 1/2 days + 42 months (1256 1/2 days) = 2520 days (7 years)

You will add whatever you need to ,to come to this 7 year fantasy of years.

There is no 7 year tribulation in the bible It only lasts 42 months.

There is no 7 years tribulation in the bible.

There is the 7 year 70th week in the bible, Daniel 9:27.

There is a great tribulation in the bible, Matthew 24:15-21, that lasts 1335 days, Daniel 12:12, until Jesus returns to end it on day 2520 of the 7 years.

The great tribulation lasts about 45 days.
It begins when the armed forces place the abomination that causes desolation in Jerusalem and ends 45 days later .

Daniel 12
5 Then I, Daniel, looked, and there before me stood two others, one on this bank of the river and one on the opposite bank. 6 One of them said to the man clothed in linen, who was above the waters of the river, “How long will it be before these astonishing things are fulfilled?”

7 The man clothed in linen, who was above the waters of the river, lifted his right hand and his left hand toward heaven, and I heard him swear by him who lives forever, saying, “It will be for a time, times and half a time.[b] When the power of the holy people has been finally broken, all these things will be completed.”

8 I heard, but I did not understand. So I asked, “My lord, what will the outcome of all this be?”

9 He replied, “Go your way, Daniel, because the words are rolled up and sealed until the time of the end. 10 Many will be purified, made spotless and refined, but the wicked will continue to be wicked. None of the wicked will understand, but those who are wise will understand.

11 “From the time that the daily sacrifice is abolished and the abomination that causes desolation is set up, there will be 1,290 days. 12 Blessed is the one who waits for and reaches the end of the 1,335 days.

13 “As for you, go your way till the end. You will rest, and then at the end of the days you will rise to receive your allotted inheritance.”

What the abomination of desolation will be, historically was prefigured in Daniel 11:31 a statue image of a false god placed in the temple by Antiochus IV. Daniel 11:31 contains the phrase "the abomination that maketh desolate".

In Revelation 13:14-15, the false prophet will have a statue image made of the slain/come back to life beast-king. That is what will be set up on the temple mount and everyone required to worship. That statue image setup will be the abomination of desolation.

Do you flee from statutes everytime you see one?
Do you fear for your life and hastily flee without ever grabbing a coat,?

The armed forces don't set up statures to cause desolation. If they wanted to cause desolation ,they would use something with a little more kick to it.Somethong that would cause the earth to quake and a cloud to ascend into heaven.Great fearful sights in the heavens.
Something that actually causes great tribulation, the likes of which the world has never seen.

If I were living Judea, the Jerusalem area, in the days following the transgression of desolation act and then the assassination of the man of sin and him coming back to life, and a statue image made of him and placed on the temple mount - then "yes", I would flee to the mountains of Israel right away.

the term "desolation" as used in the abomination of desolation, and transgression of desolation - means that the temple will be made desolate of the praise and worship of the One True God.

No-one is going to worship some nuclear bomb set up on the temple mount. You have been watching too much Beneath the Planet of the Apes movie scene of worshiping a nuclear bomb.

The only people who would be left in Jerusalem after the abomination of desolation is set up would have to be immortal as all flesh would be destroyed.

This is what happens to the people In Jerusalem when the abomination that causes Jerusalem desolation is set up.

Zech 14
12 And this shall be the plague wherewith the Lord will smite all the people that have fought against Jerusalem; Their flesh shall consume away while they stand upon their feet, and their eyes shall consume away in their holes, and their tongue shall consume away in their mouth

And you believe a statue causes great tribulation like the world has never seen ,when In fact the abomination that causes desolation makes the land uninhibited by anyone who is not saved.

No, the abomination of desolation setup on the temple mount begins the 1335 day long great tribulation.

Zechariah 14:12 is Revelation 19:21. Zechariah 14:12 is the result of Jesus speaking the destruction of the kings of the earth and their armies that have gathered to make war on Him and His army of heaven.

Revelation 19:
19 And I saw the beast, and the kings of the earth, and their armies, gathered together to make war against him that sat on the horse, and against his army.

20 And the beast was taken, and with him the false prophet that wrought miracles before him, with which he deceived them that had received the mark of the beast, and them that worshipped his image. These both were cast alive into a lake of fire burning with brimstone.

21 And the remnant were slain with the sword of him that sat upon the horse, which sword proceeded out of his mouth: and all the fowls were filled with their flesh.
