Fear of the Lord is Reverence unto Him.
Fear of demons and men is being afraid.

A man IN Christ…is in-dwelt with the supreme POWER beyond what is in this world.

God bless you.

Why should we be impressed by a display that magnifies one person and humiliates others?

Jesus never showed off his powers, his miracles were there to show who he was, and no one could challenge him with supernatural powers.

As to are we ruled by fear, depends how one interprets it fear, awe have the meaning of respect.

We are God's adopted children, bought, ransome through his Sons death and resurrection.
We are greatly loved.
Yet while we can say daddy, he is still the Almighty, Holy, Creator from whom angels hide their feet and eyes from.
Our God in his holiness is awesome.

STV doesn't seem to have a clue what the Bible says.

Psalm 111:10
10 The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom;

Wise up STV before it's too late!
Doesn't that prove my point? Thanks!

Interesting theory. I can see big holes in it immediately. The first thing that you must understand is who you are talking about. You speak of the popular Christian culture which has many people in it's clutches, admittedly. But there is another group, we'll cll them true Christians for the sake of conversation. Those who read Gods word and take it to heart literally.

And here you come in and speak as if all the Christians are one and the same. And you would dare to say to them, take your eyes off of Jesus and go meet Buddha and read of his miracles instead?! Shame on you sir. That's terrible advice and will get them nowhere.

It is good to expand ones mind and learn new things that you didnt know before.
Will I be a better Christian by meeting this so called god, buddah?

Let me ask you something. What good is learning and what do do with it?
It is not about the learning. Yes, we must earn more but t isnt about how learned I am, I've been to semitary school and graduated with honors and I know how to run a church and all that stuff. I even have have letters after my name now! Well yee-haw.

Learning about buddah or his miracles is pointless because it takes your eyes off of Jesus and onto another. What shall we do with this new learning? Apply it to our life? Har de har har. For it is not about the learning at all. It is about how you are living your life after you have learned these new things?

I didnt click on it or read it. And not because as you say that I was afraid of it. I did not click on it because I already knew that it would not be beneficial to me regrding my relationship with my Lord Jesus and that it would teach me nothing that I need to know and to even learn anything about buddah would require me to take myy eyes off of the Lord Jesus.

Dont you know why Peter began sinking in the water when He was walking on water to Jesus? Because someone on the boat yelled look there's Buddah! So peter turned away to look...(sic, lol). But he took his eyes off of Jesus. So he began sinking.

Take your eyes off of Jesus you said and look at Buddah. I rebuke your words and the very thought of it. Don't do it Brothers & Sisters! Do not take your eyes off of Jesus! For no buddah, no man, and with no fear.

Bless you in the Lord sir. Hope you have a bessed day.

I didn't ask anyone to "take your eyes off of Jesus".
But that comment helps to prove my point on this topic, thanks.
Do Christians live in such intense fear that to simply "look away" from Jesus endangers them? Wow.

The questions came from a topic titled Seven Questions. Link below.
Here are the questions:

5) Have I explored other religions to the extent that I explored Christianity?

6) What if you are the one in the wrong religion?

Let me ask you something. What good is learning and what do do with it?
It is not about the learning. Yes, we must earn more but t isnt about how learned I am, I've been to semitary school and graduated with honors and I know how to run a church and all that stuff. I even have have letters after my name now! Well yee-haw.

Interesting quote from you. "I've been to semitary school and graduated with honors". - LOL

Did you not learn in "semitary school" that Jesus miracles were a sign?

Luke 7:20-22 NIV
When the men came to Jesus, they said, “John the Baptist sent us to you to ask,
Are you the one who is to come, or should we expect someone else?’”
21 At that very time Jesus cured many who had diseases, sicknesses and evil spirits,
and gave sight to many who were blind.
22 So he replied to the messengers, “Go back and report to John what you have seen and heard:
The blind receive sight, the lame walk, those who have leprosy[a] are cleansed, the deaf hear,
the dead are raised, and the good news is proclaimed to the poor.

Since you didn't "click on it or read it", that further proves my point. What are you afraid of?
That your faith will be suddenly snatched away from you in one click of your computer mouse? - LOL

If Jesus miracles were a sign, what were Buddha's miracles a sign of?

Dont you know why Peter began sinking in the water when He was walking on water to Jesus? Because someone on the boat yelled look there's Buddah! So peter turned away to look...(sic, lol). But he took his eyes off of Jesus. So he began sinking.

Take your eyes off of Jesus you said and look at Buddah. I rebuke your words and the very thought of it. Don't do it Brothers & Sisters! Do not take your eyes off of Jesus! For no buddah, no man, and with no fear.
Fear, fear, fear, fear... fear rules Christianity.

It doesn't have to be that way. Why do you believe that God is so untrustworthy?

I was being facetious. (Didnt I write (sic, lol)? I thought surely you would catch on t that. Nevertheless, I have never been to semitary school. I hve no letters after my name, I am a retired Plumber bro! I am nobody and never even went to college!

I used to regret not going to college, but not any more. College only forms people into the image of the world, and scripture says be not conformed to this world, but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind...(Through the word of God!) The Bible and prayer is the only college that I will ever need. I'm gad I didnt go to college! it would have turned me into a punk against christians. No one comes out of college with faith in God...

So we got us some over-educated people among us who take pride in their degrees and over eduacated selves that have no faith in God..

One guy on a different Christian Forum started a thread to convince people that they should go buy a satanist bible and study it...so that they be well equipped in debating with satanists. This was a Christian Brother who said these things!

WHat do you think? SHould we study the satanist bible? Be prepared and equipped?

I shredded that mans philosophy with truth. The seed that you plant in your mind is the seed that will grow inside of you and your heart. (Oh! I never looked at it that way before, hmmm and they start believing what they have read in the satanists bible or buddahs!!) ) Dont you believe it brothers and sisters. Plant the seed in your mind of God through His Word and let that one grow. You dont need to know one single thing about other religions. You omly need to know God and be filled with His Spirit. His wisdom is so much greater than any satanist or buddahist that, there is no need to look aside.

Truth.

Here's why I wouldn't bother going to a Buddhist site boasting of miracles...or demonstrations of the supernatural. I would deliberately avoid such a site for the same reason I don't go to nightclubs. I don't muck around with ouija boards. I don't talk to demons if I can help it. I don't challenge Satan in a one on one wrestling match.
Oh. And nor do I challenge others to go where angels don't go. It isn't fear. It's common sense.

In your mind maybe, lol.

What is your trade in secular life? Did you study nursing? Did you ever study the medical profession at all in your spare time? Have you ever researched what it takes to be a good waitress?

I'm guessing that your answer is no to all those questions. Say for instance that you want togo to college and learn a trade of something. You have a coice between being a Professional Surveyor or a full blown Physicist. SUppose you choose to become a Surveyor, so you go to Surveyor school and learn all about it...will you be studying Physics in your off hours? Why not? Oh, you dont need Physics to be able to be a Surveyor, I get it! So in your off time you make Surveying your hobby and study it even more and practice it in the field yourself, because you want to be a top notch Surveyor and not some dumbbell, am I right?

Ok now let's slide back into the Christian forum and say, hey it's a great idea to go study Buddah! Yet we are followers of Jesus the Christ, are we not? So who needs Buddah?!
And you have the audacity to try and claim that my decision to study Christ and not Buddah is from fear?!! Bwahahahaha, that is so funny! You think what you choose to think and that's your right because that's you. But it doesnt make it true.

Go chase Buddah if you want to, I'll stick with the Lord Jesus Brother if that's ok with you...and even if it isnt ok with you, lol! Final exams are very soon, you nest be studyng the Lord our God more and more for we do not want to miss the mark.
Oh, sorry you failed the class with a 58.

Bless you in the Lord brother. Jesus is my study. Jesus is my hobby. Jesus is in my thoughts all day long. Will Jesus manifest Himself to me today? You never know.
I wouldnt want Him to catch me reading about Buddah if he walked in!

I'd be repenting like mad if I were you brother! Good luck with that! May the Lord bring you wisdom & understanding, geesh!

Early in my Christian walk...48 years ago...I was visiting a friend and noticed a book on his table. "The Book of Mormon". I had never heard of the book, and didn't know who Mormons were, so picked it up to have a look. The moment I turned the first page, I felt physically ill. I put the book down to go to the bathroom, but felt better before I even got up. Oh, that's good I thought, that passed quickly. Wonder what it was? I picked up the book again, turned the page, the same thing happened. Eeew, I dont feel good at all, and it's worse than before I said to my friend. Put the book down and got up... felt better. Good as gold. As if nothing happened. Weird I thought. Mmmm. Strange. Okay, let's have another look at this book. And yes, the came thing happened. (I guess I'm a slow learner) I put the book down and left it alone. No further bad feelings. I was a young Christian, and this was God's way at that time of teaching me... don't touch. Today, I don't need Him to make me sick. I just stay away from the counterfeits, the lies, the rubbish, and I've never been healthier. Spiritually and physically. Age however has its own agenda.

What a great Testimony Brother, I love it! That's sorta how I felt when I started reading this thread and that seven questions thread. Not to the extent that you did though! That right there was the grace of God upon you! And it sounds like you passed the test!

And a Christian Brother (?) asks us to take our eyes off of Jesus and take a look at Buddah and other religions? The Bible is my college text book and Jesus Himself is my Professor. WHo's Buddah? I dont need to know, I am in Jesus's class and am learning His ways. When Jesus tells me to go study Buddah, then I will but not before! Are you nuts?!

If that guy keeps on enticing young christians to step away from Jesus and the Word, I'm'a goin on youtube and finding a Buddahist to Christiantiy conversion Testimony and post it in the thread. There has to be one or two there, lol!

I have nothing against an education, as long as it doesnt interfere with a mans thinking.

The miracles on that site do not follow the pattern ordained by God for his miracles. They seem more like sorcery. And the six Ascetic monks conspired with demons according to the story.

I would bet the Ascetics conspired to make up a story to gain more wealth or power. As the demons would want to make the appearance of a dichotomy to gain more followers overall.

Because it is impossible to keep up with EVERY sort of error out there. Especially when there is more truth to learn...and we are occupied with learning truth.

I am well aware that Jesus partially quoted Confucious and Buddah and several others...it does not change the fact that Jesus is God or was able to be the perfect sacrifice for sins.

I don't talk to demons if I can help it. I don't challenge Satan in a one on one wrestling match.
I had a strange thing happen to me decades ago when I was an Elder at my church.
I drove past a church every day that was definitely not a Christian church. (I did some research)
I asked other Elders at my church to pray for my protection. They refused, or were too fearful to respond.
Knowing I did not have their support in this I continued alone.

When I got to the traffic light to turn toward the church I spoke to the Devil.
"You think you will win, don't you?"

Suddenly a teen on his bicycle in the crosswalk lost his steering ability and ran right into my car
leaving a scuff on it. He was obviously dazed and apologized for hitting me.
I stopped praying against that church. (fear)

Nope. He got mad at me, lol. A lot madder than you get.

5. No. No need to.

6. Peter! Look at the waves? WHat if your walking the wrong way? Uh-uh-uh I'm Sinking! Nice try Brother!

There are no such thing as coincidences. Only God incidences. Would like me to post for you a Christian rophet who is from over there and cnverted to Christianity through much family tension? I will. He is a well known prophet and speaker/teacher of the ways of the Lord Jesus. Put it right in this thread if you want.

If the Buddahists are right and I am wrong in my religion then it's Gods fault for not telling me who He is for real.
But my Lord did that for me so everything is ok with me.
