... WAIT for Yahweh...
I love this phrase. Thanks!

Sorry for the pulled-out-of-context treatment, but this is a critical concept I have been learning lately.

Our tendency is to run ahead and not WAIT for God to lead us.

I'm reminded of this when I see a parent out for a walk with their small children. Typically the older ones run out ahead. Fortunately, the parent has trained the children to WAIT when they reach a street to cross, and then they all cross together when the parent determines it is safe to do so.

What area? Judea?

Jesus grew up in Egypt and then Galilee; not Judea. It makes plenty of sense to speak Greek there. His ministry was also to Perea, and Gedara, the coastal cities around Capernaum, and the cities of the Decapolis in Transjordan. Greek makes sense in all those places.

Jesus probably spoke Greek. Maybe not to the Jews in Judea, but that is only a small part of where He traveled.
Well, sir, as usual; the idea that Yeshua grew up in Egypt would apply only to the first few years of life. Just as scientist attempt to claim that man is the god of this planet, theologians dream of facts that are not proved.

The Devil comes as an "angel of Light"... = Philosophy, Theology, Religion, Calvinism, "Mary flew to heaven in a dead body".

= "His ministers" come as : " the ministers of Righteousness"..

They come with all their "here is how you do righteousness, here is how you earn it, here is how you keep it.. here is how you you you you you... me, me me me me me......""

See that?

The Devils righteousness is SELF Righteousness, so HIS preachers, preach..."you have to DO this, and you have to EARN this, and you have to GET TO THIS place".

And that is the Devil's idea of it...

Whereas God's Righteousness, is "THE GIFT of Righteousness"... that is given, so that the born again believer exists IN IT, at all times..

A.) "IN Christ"... "ONE with God"..

And from that PLACE of "being made righteous"... the CHRISTian, then serves God correctly, within their understanding, as that is where the POWER to perform a perfected discipleship is GENERATED.
When Yahweh gives conviction, there is no confusion. The Devil's argument can be overcome - God's cannot.

You dont know it, and there is so much that you dont know.

Is this teaching method very effective for you?

They come with all their "here is how you do righteousness, here is how you earn it, here is how you keep it.. here is how you you you you you... me, me me me me me......""

See that?

The Devils righteousness is SELF Righteousness, so HIS preachers, preach..."you have to DO this, and you have to EARN this, and you have to GET TO THIS place".

And we're off to the the Eternal Security races.

The topic is about the Bible as an idol.

The truth is, however, that no one idolizes the Bible—only their cherished opinions of what it says.

:)

One key indicator for me is the offense taken when they feel their idol is under attack.

Do they protect the author with that amount of zeal? Or use the book to defend their doctrine instead?

I may need to do a topic on Doctrinolatry. - LOL

Is this teaching method very effective for you?

Its not designed for me.
Its designed for that member who has no faith in the word of God because they were led to believe the lie that "the bible is fine, but if you want to know the truth, then go to the Original Greek (that does not exist).... that you also can't read,""

So, many are under deceived by this situation.

And we're off to the the Eternal Security races.

Its true that some people believe that what Jesus said is "finished" on The Cross,....... is not eternal for them.

Avoid them., especially if they are found in a Pulpit or in a commentary or on a Forum.

The topic is about the Bible as an idol.

The Bible is not an Idol, its a living spiritual message. Its the """word of Truth that endures forever".

You dont have to believe this...but i do.

Also... an Idol, would be "Calvin" and that is why you find so many of his Disciples wanting to spread His doctrine of devils, all over Forums,,........ for example.
So, that is not of God, and they dont realize it, because when you are "bewitched" you are under the spell.

Welcome to Calvinism, and similar "doctrines of devils".... Hebrew 13:9

I have encountered some that I thought had fallen into this trap.

I asked them, "What would become of your faith if you put your whole library out on the curb on trash day?"
The guilty are left mostly speechless. Or, alternatively VERY angry. How come?

To be clear, I love the Bible and use it every day. But I know the difference between the book and the author.
In my experience, my relationship with the author is much more important than my relationship with the book.
Appropriate scriptures come to my mind all day long. Due to the work of the Spirit to quicken these things to my memory.

The Bible is not omniscient. (all knowing)
The Bible is not omnipresent. (everywhere present)
The Bible is not omnipotent. (all powerful)

The Bible does NOT love me.
It's paper and ink, maybe a leather cover. (or digital info)
That cow didn't die to pay my sin debt.

A true Bibliolator will demand chapter and verse to support my premise. - LOL

The bottom line:
Let's use the Bible to grow closer to God and each other, rather than as a weapon to destroy each other.

John 13:35 NIV
By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.”
From my perspective, I think people idolize the Bible because they have possibly misunderstood that the Word of God is actually God. Then the Bible is referred to as the word of God. Therefore the Bible is mistaken to be God. "The Word is God" and the "word of God" are used in different senses and I am sure it wasn't the writer's intention that anyone think scrolls, books, words, or spoken words are actually themselves Lord God Almighty, Creator of the universe. Alas, we do have strict literalists and idolatry is able to be pardoned in the New Covenant.

Christians should love the word, and study it, and live by it, and do that all the time.
Those who don't, try to correct it, and judge it, and still pretend they believe it.
yes I agree and no problem there. As Jesus said, "man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word of God" and I love that, but just so it's clear that the Bible still isn't God I think we're fine.

“Neither have I gone back from the commandment of his lips; I have esteemed the words of his mouth more than my necessary food.” (Job 23:12, KJV)

@St. SteVen

I dislike universalism but Im usually not so rude about it. I harshly criticized the ideology and its adherents, then put you on ignore without reading your response. It felt good at the time but only because of the stress going on in my life. I made christian universalism into a verbal punching bag.

It was not okay to do that regardless of personal issues. Words spoken have consequences even if we regret them later.
You do contribute value to this forum.

I apologize. Ill remove what I said in that post from that thread now.

yes I agree and no problem there. As Jesus said, "man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word of God" and I love that, but just so it's clear that the Bible still isn't God I think we're fine.

the "bible" says that "God exalts His word.... above His Name"..

Jesus is the Word and the bible is the word.

"""Jesus is the Light of the world"" and the bible "Lights our way"...The bible is a "light for our path" and a "lamp for our feet".

The bible is the eternal instruction regarding the "ways of God".

""All Scripture.....(BIBLE)..... is breathed out by God (God breathed) and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness,"""

""Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will not pass away.""" = Bible

""""For the word of God ( Bible)..... is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to the division of soul and of spirit, of joints and of marrow, and discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart. And no creature is hidden from HIS sight, but all are naked and exposed to the eyes of him to whom we must give account."""

Notice how this verse concludes that God and the word are one.

A.)..You think you are reading the Bible, but actually its READING YOU....

In Luke 24, Jesus said the scriptures are talking about Him......and that is true as He caused them to exist... (men only wrote them down).

"bibliolatry" is the only thing keeping me alive right now.

We can be dogmatic out of just wanting to be right and to suit our own ego. That is definitely true and it's true for me too.

But also, if the Bible isn't true and it's not God speaking as Ive come to know it, most of the suffering Ive gone through this past few years is just meaningless and unnecessary.

I know my life would be easier if I didn't believe the Bible. But if its not true, than my lifestyle and the pain it causes is a waste of time. Only the Bible validates my suffering and gives me hope. All who live righteously are called to suffer like Christ did. Only the Bible gives that a joyful context.

We have more bills than friends and suffering for God's sake. If I don't fear Him, the fear of my circumstances will simply take me out.

When I stop listening to Scripture in my ears, it's more than wrong opinions that are at stake. Unforgiveness, bitterness, rage, and despair all wait for me.

When I Iisten to Scripture, Im humbled, corrected, encouraged, and cleansed.

I don't have the strength to endure this current season of life without God's Word. Im playing a song version of 1 Peter 3 as I type this.

Trusting God through the Bible is the only thing I have left. I'm toast without it. If its not true, my life is pitiful and foolish. It's why it gets my reverence.

Trusting in God and Christ.... is putting your faith in the words found in the NT... as that is where you found out to Trust in God and Christ.

Its all "one".

So, people who dont, and what is the worst, THE people who have this OBSESSION....to try to correct the bible and try to destroy your faith in it....., are in a dark spiritual place that isn't God's will..

Reader..
I posted this a few times... = but if you study the early part of Jesus's ministry, right after His long fast....He was confronted by the Devil.
And Jesus only used SCRIPTURE.....to speak to Satan.

"it is WRITTEN"

"It is WRITTEN"..

"it is WRITTEN"/..

That is what The Lord Himself had to say to the DEVIL, he was USING THE BIBLE..... and so, when you find people who want to fight the bible, and correct it....laugh at it, .. deny it.... you have found some spiritual darkness, indeed.

So....That is not the Church or Pastor or Teacher, you need to have in your world.
Keep them OUT< and now you have recognized WHO they are.. .and what they are......

See it?

A.) get the Revelation.
