So why do you believe they murdered Jesus and the prophets?

The Romans executed Jesus, for their own reasons.

Rebellion against the prophets - including Jesus, the prophet like Moses - is due to unbelief in what the prophets said. It’s an authority issue. It’s an obedience issue.

Could it be that Jesus and the prophets were claiming something that didn’t follow their agenda?

See Korah’s rebellion.

P.S.

We’re certainly on the right track in regard to the agenda of the religious leaders being opposed to the messianic claim of Jesus.

The Torah clearly teaches that Elohim is Plural.

Elohim is always plural in form but is either singular or plural in meaning.

Elohim, plural in form, singular in meaning -> God, god

Elohim, plural in form, plural in meaning -> gods

Elohim is always plural but is 'singular' in sentence structure because the SHEMA teaches that Elohim is a United One.

“Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God, the LORD is one!"

"Hear, O Israel: YHWH our Elohim, YHWH is Echad!"

I would use Jesus to put the “United One” position to the test.

#1 REASON why the Jews reject JESUS = John 12:37-40

But although He had done so many signs before them, they did not believe in Him, that the word of Isaiah the prophet might be fulfilled, which he spoke:

“Lord, who has believed our report?
And to whom has the arm of the Lord been revealed?”

Therefore they could not believe, because Isaiah said again:

“He has blinded their eyes and hardened their hearts,
Lest they should see with their eyes,
Lest they should understand with their hearts and turn,
So that I should heal them.”
