Quote Jesus, about the rock.Are you asking who has common sense and who has spiritual sense?
Eli, Eli, lema sabachthani.Provide a link to an Aramaic manuscript which pre-dates the Greek manuscript in the link I provided.
Best way to avoid the mark of the beast is to fix your eyes on Jesus, the Word, and be filled with the Holy Spirit so that He can give you discernment to recognize the mark.The number one guard against the mark of the Beast, is the Apostles Creed.
Millions of Christians (mostly Bible believers, new age Protestants, lone wolf Christians) will take the mark of the Beast, because they were not rooted in the Apostles Creed, and will be seduced by the intellectual arguments of the Anti-christ.
Everyone should recite the Apostles Creed each morning & evening as a defense against errors in the Faith.
Faith follows simple obedience, not argument or reasoning.
Argument may be good for the strengthening of the intellect, but is not the true foundation of Faith.
Those whose Faith rests on reason will lose it when they hear the specious reasoning of the Anti-christ.
Those in the contrary, who rely on a firm belief founded on obedience, will reply, away with your arguments, such reasonings are not the grounds of my Faith.
The Creed came from the Apostles themselves.
There are 12 articles of Faith, each one made by an Apostle himself.
The Apostles Creed.
1. S. Peter: I believe in God the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth:
2. S. Andrew: And in Jesus Christ his only Son our Lord,
3. S. John: Who was conceived by the Holy Ghost, Born of the Virgin Mary,
4. S. Jacob: Suffered under Pontius Pilate, Was crucified, dead, and buried:
5. S. Thomas: He descended into hell; The third day he rose again from the dead;
6. S. James: He ascended into heaven, And sitteth on the right hand of God the Father Almighty;
7. S. Philip: From thence he shall come to judge the quick and the dead.
8. S. Bartholomew: I believe in the Holy Ghost;
9. S. Matthew: The holy Catholick Church; The Communion of Saints;
10. S. Simon: The Forgiveness of sins;
11. S. Jude: The Resurrection of the body,
12. S. Matthias: And the Life everlasting.
Amen. (Book of Common Prayer, 1662)

What are the doctrines of men?Best way to avoid the mark of the beast is to fix your eyes on Jesus, the Word, and be filled with the Holy Spirit so that He can give you discernment to recognize the mark.
Do not follow any doctrines of men...the end.
:):)
I don't have to travel to see the Greek original.Eli, Eli, lema sabachthani.
In the Greek this is translated, not in the Aramaic.
The Original is housed at a Syrian Church.
You have to travel there.
ok...and?I don't have to travel to see the Greek original.
Oh that's easy to figure out...it has to do with all the numerous doctrines of faith that every denomination adheres to and that every member come into agreement with when they join the church.What are the doctrines of men?
And the Apostles Creed?Oh that's easy to figure out...it has to do with all the numerous doctrines of faith that every denomination adheres to and that every member come into agreement with when they join the church.
I don't believe I have read the apostles creed in scripture. I have read what the Apostles Creed states and that is my own personal belief as well but it is not something someone has to specifically quote to get saved. Salvation is based on my confession..And the Apostles Creed?
yea or nay?
Where does our Lord Jesus teach this?I don't believe I have read the apostles creed in scripture. I have read what the Apostles Creed states and that is my own personal belief as well but it is not something someone has to specifically quote to get saved. Salvation is based on my confession..
.Romans 10 (KJV)
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
⁹ That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
¹⁰ For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
And it is my faith not the apostles at center stage here
Ephesians 2 (KJV)
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
⁸ For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
⁹ Not of works, lest any man should boast.
Teach what....and I supplied scriptures.Where does our Lord Jesus teach this?
And the Matthew Syriac manuscript is not the oldest.ok...and?
But Jesus did not speak Greek.And the Matthew Syriac manuscript is not the oldest.
It is pre-dated by other Matthew manuscripts, all of which are Greek.
It is the Greek manuscripts in which the distinction between petros and petra is preserved.
Where does Jesus say:Teach what....and I supplied scriptures.
Now let me say this...I love discussing the Word of God....but I won't participate in any discussion where there is no discussion.
I shared my thoughts and beliefs and now please share more of yours.
1 & 2 Peter were written in Greek.But Jesus did not speak Greek.
Peter did not speak Greek.
Matthew did not speak Greek.
They spoke Aramaic.
They are in Aramaic as well.1 & 2 Peter were written in Greek.
And yet their writings are in Greek. That in itself implies that God gave them the ability and the inspiration.... Peter did not speak Greek. Matthew did not speak Greek. They spoke Aramaic.
Their writings, were in Aramaic, not Greek. Someone else was inspired to translate it.And yet their writings are in Greek. That in itself implies that God gave them the ability and the inspiration.
That is debatable.Their writings, were in Aramaic, not Greek. Someone else was inspired to translate it.
