We plant seeds that lie dormant. The seeds planted in my Mom's rebellious heart took thirty years to germinate. We just don't when they will come. We don't know what God is doing in their lives nor how much more that needs to be done to prepare their hearts. Some come to God in their death bed - like my Mom did.
And that is wonderful. But what about those in whom the word does not dwell and are nothing more than fake, hypocritical, false believers who die that way? The worker who ministered to them has no reward for their labor of building them into the building of God. They will be found to be hay, wood, and stubble at the Judgment and will be burned up and purged from the building of God. They weren't really a part of it to begin with because they focused on the false security of the
new version of OSAS (as opposed to Calvin's version) instead of making sure they were really saved in the first place.
Bruno baby, the point of all of this is the new version of OSAS erroneously says 1 Corinthians 3:8-15 means a 'believer' can decide to live in unrepentant sin and have no righteous works and he will still be saved when Jesus comes back. He will just lose rewards, not salvation. But that ignores the scripture that tells us that the person who lives like that
is not even born again to begin with (1 John 3:9) As I've shown, 1 Corinthians 3:8-15 isn't even about one's personal life of holiness to begin with! It's about the work done by the minister in the field and building of God and whether or not it will result in a reward for him when Jesus comes back.
See, we shouldn't be arguing about whether OSAS is true or not. What we need to do is what the Bibles says to do...make sure we're really saved. Telling people that how they live their lives has no bearing on whether they have the Spirit of God in them in salvation, because once you are saved you are always saved no matter what, causes them to not obey the Biblical exhortation to test themselves to see if they are really in the faith and prepared to meet Jesus in judgement. The minister who shares that false teaching, causing people in the church to think they are saved who really aren't saved at all, will have no reward for his work in building the building of God. They will have built hay, wood, and stubble into the building of God - things that can't go through the fire - and the result of their labor in the field and building of God will get burned up in the judgment, because those people aren't real believers. They just thought they were...because they were told they were...despite the fact that they did not have the life to match their profession of faith that Jesus is Lord.
