Hello @JohnDB,

I'm afraid that Yahweh, Yahavah, Jehovah, Yehovah are all simply names that are used by English speakers. There are others that are unknown to me, and possibly to others concerning to the name used in which people may use. Ive had nicknames over the years, one being "Crack" and another being "YoYo." While people out there in this culture of Christian culture may just refer to "God" as "God" that is okay with me, and I don't believe in anyway shape or form they are not reaching the "ear" of Yahvah, concerning their prayers, and even praying "in the name of Yeshua." There are many people out there who may not even know "Jesus." However that is not going to stop the LORD GOD ALMIGHTY, from being able to give his holy spirit/spirit of Christ to those whom are his, who many not even know who it is that is helping them. Perhaps it's the "Word of God" speaking within their heart, and they will find out whom helped them, virtue of Yahavah, revealing it to them once they pass on from this life. Thank you for your post.

Believe me when I do believe it's a personal relationship people have with "God" or as Yahavah may be used or some Jehovah, Allah, Yehovah. It is after all, the heart which Yahavah seeks and search through and again, knows those whom are his, regardless if they know his name, or even his son. Its the active seeking in faith, and that inner desire to love "God, and to love others." Only made possible by virtue of the Word of (God/Yahavah), which we get to learn was made flesh, lived life, died the death for the sins of all people, and was raised again by Yahavah, and acsended and returned for the bride. How far a person desires to seek is up to them, and whether or not someone knows more or doesn't know very much. It all boils down to faith, and agape love.

(1 Corinthians 13:13 and now there doth remain faith, hope, love -- these three; and the greatest of these [is] love.)

Good post...
I've nothing to add except to reveal my favorite name for God as declared by Jesus...

"Abba" which in common English terms is "Daddy" and not the more formal "Father".

And of course I'm sure by your discussion of this subject matter that you have and hold the utmost and highest respect for God even to our abasement unto death for the cause of furthering His name.
We never ever consider anything other than a really high respect for God even if we are somehow incredibly allowed to have a personal, close relationship with God.

And sometimes He speaks to us over the mundane tasks of everyday life....like my latest "make a pot of chili". Even when I don't want to. Guess what I'm gonna do?

Greetings JohnDB,
God the Father's tag is "I am/I Will Be" or Yahweh in Hebrew.
This introduces another aspect of this important subject. Out of the two alternatives that you mention I accept that "I will be" is the correct rendition and meaning of the YHWH Name and this is supported by Tyndale, RV and RSV margins. I consider that the rendition by the KJV and most modern translations that have "I Am" are erroneous.

Kind regards
Trevor

Exo 6:3
I appeared to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, as God Almighty; but by my name Yahweh/Yahavah I was not known to them.

They shall call his NAME Jesus for he shall save his people from their sins.

Getting lost in translation, misunderstood intentions and ego's which misappropriate are all part of the package peddled by ole nick.

Hello @quietthinker,

Jesus name is above all names considering salvation, but that doesn't make Yahavahs name any less than. Many peoples do not even understand that once Yeshua had completed all the things he had to do, he gave everything back to his Father. Whatever a person wants to do is on them, but making his name know, was something even Jesus did, and the Apostles. That is what I believe subjectively. People can see it as egotistical, or whatever, but those types of comments are not always true.

1 Corinthians 15:24 Then the end will come, when he hands over the kingdom to God the Father (Yahweh/Yahavah) after he has destroyed all dominion, authority and power.
