Came across this, and it struck me how much it applies to Christians today. That when Christ came, the Jews did not recognize Him to which the prophecies and signs pointed. They had the word of God in their hands; but the traditions which had been handed down from generation to generation, and the human interpretation of the Scriptures, hid from them the truth, which we see even worse today.
Christians today have allowed tradition, as we see in Sunday Worship, and false ideas as in the State of the Dead and that they are Immortal of Self passed on from generation to generation and mans interpretation of the Scriptures such as what happens to the Wicked at the end. We see all these falsehoods of pagan origin or worse, being pick up by Christians and spread around as truth, when scripture clearly shows the fallacy of such things. They are shown the truth, yet refuse to accept it so they can continue with the idols they have set up and the ungodly practices. We are now seeing the results of such things as many have seen the hypocrisy and double standards of so called Christians and have stopped believing or even worse, begun to hate and fight against anything of God. The light has been hidden or kept from being fully unveiled by those who supposedly were to shine it before men from a hilltop so all could see it. The scriptures clearly shows the truth and if we have eyes that see, its unveiled...
1.) The Second Advent of Christ
The expectation that Christ will personally return to this planet bodily with His angels, and every eye will see Him.
2.) The 7th-Day Sabbath
What God made at Creation was the seventh day Sabbath so that the original Sabbath is still here today, Saturday which is the holy day sanctified by God Himself, not another day.
3.) Heavenly Temple
That the Jewish Temple was a reflection of the heavenly reality, the sanctuary in heaven which was foreshadowed by the Mosaic tabernacle to unveil a fuller understanding of Christs sacrifice and atonement.
4.) Soul Sleep and Hell is the Lake of Fire
That death is a state of unconscious sleep until the resurrection, and there is a reward of the wicked and sinners, the lake of fire, that will eternally destroy them and they along with all evil will cease to exist, and is the hell we are shown by scripture.
