@theefaith your religion has caused you to be repressed, to be bound and in chains which are not of God.
No.
Since I am Converted, (and still living in my physical body), my spiritual connection is with OTHER Converted persons (still living in their physical body)... I can freely speak with them about Spiritual things, and visa versa, and BE in the same Spiritual Understanding.
ANY living earthly Converted saint, can BE “AS A” mother, brother, sister to me.
My heavenly Spiritual connection is with my Heavenly Father, the Lord God Almighty...I can freely speak with Him about Anything, Anytime, Anyplace.
We are never taught to “call on the Heavenly saints”, for anything!
Call ON, pray FOR ................earthly saints (Converted)...yes.
Call ON, pray FOR, pray TO....heavenly saints (Converted)...no.
Holy and pious are two different things. Holy means set apart for God and I am a part of that royal priesthood and holy nation mentioned by Peter as I have been called out of darkness and into his wonderful light. Have you?religion is holy and ordained by God
actually JESUS did not tell that to all desciples , HE told it to john and john took her into his own house .to all disciples behold Thy mother
so you’re not a disciple?
So pray to HE who ordained it , not to the created , but to the creator . Hurry thee faith and cease from all prayersreligion is holy and ordained by God
to all disciples behold Thy mother
so you’re not a disciple?
religion is holy and ordained by God
Uh....no Jesus was not speaking to “ALL” disciples.
You have ALREADY BEEN CORRECTED by another poster for Changing Scripture to say, what it does NOT SAY.
John 19:
[27] Then saith he to the disciple, Behold thy mother! And from that hour that disciple took her unto his own home.
Your gaslighting question is MOOT, based on your changing of Scripture.
I have never seen anyone as obsessed with Mary than you are. Being obsessed with anything is considered to be idol worship. It does not have to be just a carved image of Mary. It's attributing things to Mary that are not in the Bible that makes you beyond excessive adoration.I did not put her on the same level as God!
Matt 16:18 only applies to Peter
But Matt 19 says he is speaking to the disciple not not John
Christ and His church are one.Christ and his church are one!
Christ continues his work of redemption thru his church he founded on Peter and the apostles
Acts 9:4 eph 5:32
Ez 36:25-27
Mk 16:16 acts 7:36-38
Apostolic succession is not found in the Bible. You will not find any Scripture to support that idea.As all the Apostles have authority and it's passed down through Apostolic succession.
Taken,Why would men build buildings for men to gather.
Dedicate those buildings to God, as a House of Prayer and Worship unto God....
Then fill those buildings full of Statues, Idols, call out the name of those Statues and Idols, and bow down before those Statues and Idols?
What is Apostolic succession?Apostolic succession is not found in the Bible. You will not find any Scripture to support that idea.
As you wrote it, I agree.HUmans/Christians are the Church.
See my post no. 673or maybe images are not forbidden only idolatry and worship of images
I never said she was.The short answer: read your Bible.
The longer answer: "For this is the way God loved the world: He gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world should be saved through him. The one who believes in him is not condemned. The one who does not believe has been condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the one and only Son of God." John 3:16-18
Notice that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life. Notice that Mary is not mentioned here or anywhere else as being part of salvation.
The apostles ensured that there would be a plurality of faithful elders in each and every church (Titus 1:5-9 and other passages). And that they in turn would teach faithful men, who would then become elders to replace them. But all the NT churches were autonomous (not accountable directly to anyone but Christ, as seen in Revelation 1-3), and each church was under the oversight of only elders (also called pastors or bishops). As you will note in the NT, there was no single man appointed as "bishop" over the elders. When the original Apostles died,,,was someone left in charge? Was it someone the Apostles had taught? What happened when THEY died?
Taken,
I'm not here to protect the CC, there are many on this site that can do this.
I just want to say that Exodus 20:4 and Leviticus 26:1 state that we are not to carve graven images.
First of all, I don't think this transfers well to commandment number 2....
Second, we need to know what the meaning of graven image is:
graven image
noun
Definition of graven image
: an object of worship carved usually from wood or stone : IDOL
It's an object of worship.
Catholics do not worship the statues in the church.
NOW...if you want to discuss praying to saints...that would be legitimate....
Saints are not worshipped but they are venerated...is this right?
I'd forget about the idol discussion and concentrate on the saint matter.
I don't think dead persons could hear us...but can we be sure??
I have never seen anyone as obsessed with Mary than you are. Being obsessed with anything is considered to be idol worship. It does not have to be just a carved image of Mary. It's attributing things to Mary that are not in the Bible that makes you beyond excessive adoration.

What Does the Bible Say About Idolatry?
According to Baker's Biblical Dictionary, the most prevalent form of idolatry in biblical times was the worship of images or idols that represented or were thought to embody various pagan deities.
In the Old Testament, from the beginning, the threat of idolatry was in the midst of Israel. The forefathers were idolaters and, while Abraham was called out of a polytheistic background ( Joshua24:2 ), some persons brought their gods with them ( Gen 35:2-4). Israel's sojourn in Egypt placed them under the influence of the Egyptian religion, but God's sovereignty was manifest by his judgment upon the gods of Egypt ( Exod 12:12 ; Num 33:4 ). Israel, however, quickly succumbed to idolatry by worshiping a golden calf at Mount Sinai ( Exod 32 ).
The first commandment is to have no gods before God ( Exod 20:3 ; Deut 5:7 ). In addition, the construction of any images ( Exod 20:23 ) or even the mention of the names of gods ( Exod 23:13 ) was forbidden. Invoking the name of a god was an acknowledgment of its existence and gave credence to its power. By swearing in the name of another god ( 1 Kings 19:2 ; 20:10 ), the people would be binding themselves to an allegiance other than God ( Joshua 23:7 ).
Since idolatry substituted another for God it violated the people's holiness and was parallel to adultery; hence the frequent use of negative sexual imagery for idolatry, especially by the prophets. Both intermarriage and formal treaties were prohibited because of necessary affiliation with pagan gods ( Exod 23:32-33 ), leading to eventual fellowship ( Exod 34:15 ) and worship of idols ( Num 25:2-3 ).
