Paul even said he was instructed to be both full and hungry
Phil 4:12-13 I know both how to be abased, and I know how to abound: every where and in all things I am instructed both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need. I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.
Similarly, it shows they were instructed to be in hunger in Deut 8:2-3
1 Ti 6:6-8 But godliness with contentment is great gain. For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out. And having food and raiment let us be therewith content.
People are broken. This is true no matter who you look to. Some are more broken than others. Some has brokenness that is better hidden. We all wear social masks.
How are you?
Great.
Excellent post and video! Good to see you
Its because us Chosen Christians do not esteem the wealth of this world we don't belong to. You cannot glorify Christ through wealth you did not struggle to achieve. God does raise some believers to be givers. They are blessed with good jobs and are the financial pillars in churches. Without them most churches cannot survive. I knew a Christian years ago that would only work a minimum wage job and relied on God for meeting his needs.
Myself as well. I do think also that each place we might be instructed in can also provide opportunities in showing mercy. Or the giving and receiving between brethren. Where one might be in need another (instructed in plenty) can provide the need of the other. Then visa versa, when the other (who has plenty) is instructed to be in need the other can help them too. Just the opportunity that this also presents between brethren.I've had it both ways in life. A life of plenty and a life of hunger. It goes up and down, lol. I know how to get by on next to nothing...and I know how to waste money, lol. When I think about how much money I went through when I was married...it astounds me!
I have figured out late in life that, one really can live on this earth without any money. I used to think ,omey was everything, lol.
Tithing is not in the New Testament. Giving is in the New Testament. Jesus also said give so that the left hand doesn't know what the right hand is doing. So a church keeping giving records is not following Jesus' words.I think God allows everyone to be givers as is illustrated in the old lady with 2 mites story. It was counted unto her to have given more than rich men who's donation was a larger cash amount. But they gave from their excess and the old lady gave from her sustenance (her grocery money!) so she a more giving heart than the rich man.
So even though I only draw a retirement check from the government I still have been able to consistently pay tithes and an offering each month.
Now maybe I can't afford to do that and maybe...I can't afford not to!
