Why are Bible scholars leaving Christianity?

THEN read the bible . just do it mathew . Opinions will change and will ALIGN with the HOLY SPIRIT , WITH TRUTH .
You are running on gas that is highly mixed with water . On that you cannot survive and will crash .
GO to , return to , embrace and cling too the pure holy truth in the bible . LEARN it . Let your soul be filled

Oftentimes in these presentations it is clear that these folks HAD a genuine faith and commitment.
To claim that they were NEVER one of us is an outlandish accusation. IMHO

Actually it is not . JOHN would have said it too . IF THEY COME OUT they were NEVER TRULY OF US .
SURE they probably had some belief , but had they truly been of us , NO DOUBT they would have continued with us .
AND PS , I DONT , DO NOT , preach OSAS . Every warning in the bible by MEN WHO WERE saved
i simply believe . including john as well as paul , as well as peter , as well as them all ,
EVERY warning that JESUS gave , every WORD written for us , I SIMPLY BELIEVE IT ALL .

You have no idea what JESUS meant by that . I mean if me telling you to get back into the bible
or me correcting you is judging you wrongly , THEN YOU are judging me wrongly every single time
you try and correct me . CORRECTING one is not the same as JUDGE NOT .
JUDGE NOT means CONDMEN NOT . Its not like i am gonna
go drive to your house and tie you to a post and STONE you to death . GOD will judge .

Yeah and how does the SPIRIT work , often also through the body . WHO you think
convicts me , reminds me , and put me into THE BIBLE . a hint it werent the flesh .
NOR is it the flesh that has me to remind you to do this . IT IS THE SPIRIT mathew .
CAUSE as GOD desires none to perish , The SPIRIT within me has given me the same heart .
Its not a sin to warn , remind , or even rebuke folks in error .
NOR is it a sin to remind folks to steer clear of that which is false or those who are false .
I was called to exhortation years ago mathew . THUS its what i do .

didnt change mathew . what happend was fearful or money hungry men TRIED TO CHANGE the pattern
TO KEEP NUMBERS so they could keep the cash flow .

If church were a business to me and my goal was my own comforts , BELIEVE ME i would NOT SOUND ONE BIT
like i do . i would have conformed . NOPE . rather be dead . ITS CHRIST and HIM crucified for me .
THE LORD will be with me . HE fed them in the wilderness , HE will feed me even if i were on the run and in a cave .
TIME to return to the HOLY LORD GOD ALL MIGHTY and let us learn HIM well . HE IS ALL WE NEED .

And that my friend is the very attitude that caused so many churches to collapse .
pastors stopped correcting , stopped with biblical reminders and gave to the attitude , OH just let them do as they please .
NO wonder we have so many different versions of what people think truth is .
No sir . true men of GOD actually DO good unto the people . THEY actually do correct
the church , help guide and build up the church . You would truly know this if , if you would just get back into
the bible .
You will see that paul and others did not have this approach that so many leaders of today now have .
THEY actually TOOK care of the church . FED the lambs . pure and holy doctrine .
corrected errors and they taught others to do the same . ITS TIME WE DO THIS . cause far too many are falling away
and being led by what THEY THINK is THE SPIRIT .

I've been thinking along these lines for some time and have been planning to start a thread on it; new-age soft, ineffective Christianity that makes itself irrelevant, contained wholly in platitudes so as not to offend anyone.

In @MatthewG's case, pride unwilling to be corrected, rebuked, "debate", etc.

Think about what you just said .
now allow me some parting words .
Do you have children . I do . they are grown now .
If my son or daughter had come to me and said , DADDY if you love me you will stop trying to correct me .
DO YOU REALLY THINK i would have heeded such advice , OR that it would have been LOVE for me to have done so .

NEITHER should we let brethren remain in error if we see them in error .
And all i did was remind you , for the most part , to get back into the bible .
Beleive me mathew , with some of the things i have seen you write , i could have seriously rebuked you big time .

I'm afraid you are isolating yourself from Christian fellowship, attempting to keep things at an intellectual level, avoiding the uncomfortableness of relating to others - AS SCRIPTURE guides us. I'll pray for you, my friend.

I don't live by the scriptures. I live by the spirit.

You can reference that book all day and if you can't love God and love your neighbor and leave them alone.

Then you got a problem. (this isn't the acts of the apostles.) Time to put away childish things.

Everyone has their own responsibility and it starts with oneself. That is all I can say @Wrangler.

Do you want someone to harp on you all day - when we are also told to "love your neighbor as yourself" -- no you want to be left alone as well.

Since when does the SPIRIT contradict the scriptures . folks are following a comsic jesus these days . the do as thou wilt
let and let live jesus . It wont save them either .
