You mean The Father has no form, but is just some 'force' floating around inside everything? Do you realize that is what the pagans think about God?

The Father, even though He is a Spirit like Apostle John said, still He has an outward form and Likeness, that of man, because the image of man comes from Him per Genesis 1:26-27.

As for our soul, it definitely is NOT from material matter. It is a creation by God in that other dimension of the heavenly, likewise with our spirit. You do realize there is more than one dimension of existence written of in God's Word?

In John 3, Jesus told Nicodemus that which is born of the flesh and flesh, and that which is born of The Spirit is spirit.

At flesh death, our flesh body is cast off revealing our spiritual body with soul. Our spirit and soul can never be separated, but our spirit with soul can be separated from our flesh (2 Corinthians 5).
I erased that post as it's late and I'm off to sleep. I know what God is. You sound like you think earth is so great. It is only one of the many planets God has created.

No reason to get sassy, just because I revealed God's Truth to you.

Isa 45:18
18 For thus saith the LORD That created the heavens; God Himself That formed the earth and made it; He hath established it, He created it not in vain, He formed it to be inhabited: I am the LORD; and there is none else.

KJV

You can ask Him why He created this earth, either when Jesus appears, or through one of His very elect that only will be allowed near Him when He returns.

Oh I see then. You will be the one to reveal God's truth. That is something that is available in the Bible. I can read it for myself.

Then you certainly shouldn't be thinking His Kingdom establishing has to do with other planets and aliens.

No that isn't from the bible, that comes from modern discovery. Why do you keep using the term alien? If God is far from here in Heaven how does that relate to aliens from your scifi movies. God created us all. That throws out your alien ideas no matter where God is in the universe. But no, I don't believe God the Father is from earth. The bible is clear, he created the heavens and earth. Read Genesis chapter 1.

Does Jesus have to be physically with us for the kingdom of God to already be among us? He says in Matthew 4:17 to repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand. I would suggest that it is repentance that causes us to discover the kingdom of heaven.

I'm not saying that Jesus Christ does have to be physically among us, I'm saying Jesus Christ was consistently telling the Pharisees that he was the king of the kingdom of God, something the Pharisees consistently denied. They wouldn't accept Jesus as their King and those who don't accept Jesus as their king don't submit to his authority.

Hello to you, Bob

There are three heavens,

1 sky
2 the space of the universe
3 the place where God dwells, you see glimpses of this place in revelation a little bit chapter 4 throne room vision type deal.

Anyway, this is the way it goes for me.

Your born again, you receive a piece of heaven on earth. That piece of heaven is from God. It’s known as the Holy Spirit, also the spirit of Christ, and also even so the ability to be a citizen in the heavenly city : Jerusalem.

You have the kingdom of God inside of you: in your heart it’s there in the core of knowing that you are a part of the kingdom of God from the heart having allowed the scriptures to move you by the spirit to understand.

These are just my thoughts on the subject, you may differ.

Hope this helps,
In Christ,
Matthew Gallagher

Jesus showed us how to be happy and safe, I believe. Those who don't do as he says don't find happiness and safety.

I disagree, heaven is a place, and Jesus was going there to prepare a place for his Apostles and disciples.
If heaven is a place, then how does one explain these scriptures:

From that time Jesus began to preach, saying, "Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand." Matthew 4:17 RSV

[20] Being asked by the Pharisees when the kingdom of God was coming, he answered them, "The kingdom of God is not coming with signs to be observed;
[21] nor will they say, `Lo, here it is!' or `There!' for behold, the kingdom of God is in the midst of you." Luke 17:20-21 RSV

I think when we die, we pass onto the resurrection, not heaven. I think heaven is what life is like when we repent of our sin.

Bob,

A warning of destruction for the Jewish people’s material religion to be obliterated, and a reassurance for those who were believing in Jesus who received part of the Kingdom when they were given the Holy Spirit.

God bless,
In Christ,
Matthew Gallagher

You said, "... who received part of the Kingdom ..." That would seem to suggest the Kingdom is not a physical place, which is what I am trying to say.

Everything given from God is a perfect and good gift. God resides in the heavenly Jerusalem founded in scripture. You become born again and are given the Holy Spirit of God. You now have a piece of the kingdom in you by faith, even including the spirit of Christ. You are an adopted child you call out the Father, you are part of the heavenly kingdom.

Some people believe in a coming material kingdom. Jesus never said he was going to have a material kingdom, otherwise he would have said that his kingdom was actually of this world and not of it to Pilate while he was in trial.

Thank you, for your comment, Bob.

If repentance doesn't mean we stop sinning, I don't see how it is helpful.
The flesh continues to sin and will do so until death is swallowed up in victory. However, the spirit does not sin. To repent is about changing the mind, and instead of desiring to live according to the flesh we now desire to live according to the spirit. However, the flesh continues to sin.

In light of these two verses, what or where is heaven?

[20] Being asked by the Pharisees when the kingdom of God was coming, he answered them, "The kingdom of God is not coming with signs to be observed;
[21] nor will they say, `Lo, here it is!' or `There!' for behold, the kingdom of God is in the midst of you." Luke 17:20-21

The way I see the kingdom is the eternal dimension in which Jesus Christ has absolute authority, and unfettered access. By the authority he gained over the world with his death on the cross the Holy Spirit was sent out from the foundation of the world. And it is through his Indwelling Spirit that we are united with him in eternity while still being in this earth.

The resurrection begins at the second presence of Jesus Christ 1 Thessalonians 4:13-17

Jesus said at John 17:3 what we must believe to get eternal life. The scriptures at John 20:17 also show us that the Only Begotten Son of God Jesus Christ has a Father and God that is his Apostles and disciples Father and God. The scriptures at 1 Corinthians 15:24-27 also show that the Father and God of Jesus Christ has subjected all authority to his Only Begotten Son Jesus . The only one not subject to Jesus is Jesus Christ Father and God Who's name is YHWH. So to get eternal life we must believe that the seed that YHWH God prophesied at Genesis 3:15 is YHWH God Only Begotten Son Jesus Christ this is the person YHWH God is working through today.

I don't see any reason to continue sinning.

I would say heaven is what our lives turn into when we repent of our sin (Matthew 4:17). Maybe we are saying the same thing.
