I would suggest an important clue rests in Matthew 4:17. What does Jesus tell us to do?
I don't see that as meaning the Kingdom of Heaven is earth. It said the Kingdom of Heaven is at hand. I interpret that to mean that we are to repent for the end of our lives is near. Which is true. In the bible Jesus explained that soon would be the end. And he did that a lot. Yet here it is 2000 years later and we have death and destruction here on earth. Wars and murderers and such. Surely you're not suggesting that is Heaven on earth.

It’s the earth you are made of. It’s where God dwells.

Luke 17:20-21 isn't saying to the Pharisees that they would see the kingdom of God coming with observable signs, because Jesus Christ was there among the Pharisees and since Jesus Christ is the king of that kingdom, the kingdom of God was already among them.
Does Jesus have to be physically with us for the kingdom of God to already be among us? He says in Matthew 4:17 to repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand. I would suggest that it is repentance that causes us to discover the kingdom of heaven.

Heaven isn't a place, I don't think. It is our life after we repent.

Then how do you explain that Jesus was preparing a place for us?

John 14:2-3
2 In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.
3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.

It could be a physical place. Or it could be he is straightening out your life for you.

I see what you're trying to say. But that is not how I interpret scripture. I used to look at it that way. And I think it just confused me. I look at things literally first and then if things appear symbolic I look at it that way next.

One thing for sure: Jesus told us to repent (Matthew 4:17).

Can we go there?
2 Corinthians 6:16 KJV
[16] And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them ; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people.

Psalm 19:1,4-5 KJV
[1] The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament sheweth his handywork. [4] Their line is gone out through all the earth, and their words to the end of the world. In them hath he set a tabernacle for the sun, [5] Which is as a bridegroom coming out of his chamber, and rejoiceth as a strong man to run a race.

Notice all the personal pronouns.
