What really, really matters is not knowing Gods 'true' name but knowing God himself in a personal way through Jesus with the guiding of the Holy Spirit who indwells those who love him. Now I dare to ask you @ElieG12 do you actually KNOW God in that way? But perhaps you will say again that it is none of my business as you did when I asked what denomination you are.

Oh and by the way I also know that God is called Jehovah as well as all the other names attributed to Him - such as Jesus. Do you know our wonderful Father by any other name?

Of course He is....no one is disputing that. The OP is directly speaking of the OT and specifically when God spoke to Moses from the burning bush.
The claim is "I Am" is not His name....and no one is claiming it is. It is how the interpretation of the original Hebrew script to English that seems to be the issue, I think, anyway.

It is important to know the truth. A lot of people make an association of a supposed name of God "I AM" with Jesus saying "I am".

That is absolutely ridiculous, since that I AM is an invention.

God never said "My name is I AM" nor Jesus said "I am I AM".

The name of God (Yahweh) is a comooiund word that when simply translated is "I am who I am".

It is the height of deception to say Jehovah To take the First Y ynd make it a J and then take the second Y and make it an h is deceptive.

But here is the anglicized spelling of what God said when asked His name:

eyah aser eyah!

so if you want to use the accepted but unproven vowels His name should be read --- Yehoyah

That would be the scribes, the priests, and the pharisees of Jesus day. Before then it would be difficult to say beyond, the scribes, the priests, and the kings of Judah.

There is not any I AM that I know of ... I don't call my God with names that humans invent.

I know my God has a proper name; I can read it in the Bible when I study it and it is there near 7,000 times, and it does not say Yahweh in the Bible I read ... but JEHOVAH, which is a form in English that translate the Hebrew form, and it's been like that for centuries, so I don't think now I need a diferent form that the one is known. Actually, in Spanish (my first language) I use a diferent form, Jehová (and it sounds diferently) cause it depends on the language I speak at the moment. In Italian I use a diferent one, Geova (and it sounds diferent also).

If some call him I AM in English without even caring if that's what the Hebrew Bible says, what's the insistence on using a different form of his personal name than has been used (in every language) for centuries? Will you tell me how do I read the name of God in my Bible and what is the form of His name I use in my service to Him? Do you think He listens to you more than me because of the form of His personal name that you use? What about the name that people in Africa use ... or in Asia, or in other languages which have very diferent forms of that personal name of God?

Actually, the name was written without vowels in the oldest manuscripts because the Jews didn't want the covenant name of God spoken out loud. Don't worry about offending any Jews with Jehovah though, that's not the pronunciation but an anglicized corruption. But regardless, God raised the name of His Son above all names, because Jesus is God revealed.
