Many will tell you that you will always be a sinner and you cannot be free from sin. But they are not speaking the Truth according to the gospel message.

If you are dead to sin and sin is truly put to death in you by the power of the Holy Spirit, then sin is no longer active in your life and you will no longer serve sin.

Hear this Truth….

Romans 6

King James Version

6 What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound?
2 God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein?
3 Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death?
4 Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.
5 For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection:
6 Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin.
7 For he that is dead is freed from sin.
8 Now if we be dead with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with him:
9 Knowing that Christ being raised from the dead dieth no more; death hath no more dominion over him.
10 For in that he died, he died unto sin once: but in that he liveth, he liveth unto God.
11 Likewise reckon ye also yourselves to be dead indeed unto sin, but alive unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord.
12 Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body, that ye should obey it in the lusts thereof.
13 Neither yield ye your members as instruments of unrighteousness unto sin: but yield yourselves unto God, as those that are alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness unto God.
14 For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace.
15 What then? shall we sin, because we are not under the law, but under grace? God forbid.
16 Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness?
17 But God be thanked, that ye were the servants of sin, but ye have obeyed from the heart that form of doctrine which was delivered you.
18 Being then made free from sin, ye became the servants of righteousness.
19 I speak after the manner of men because of the infirmity of your flesh: for as ye have yielded your members servants to uncleanness and to iniquity unto iniquity; even so now yield your members servants to righteousness unto holiness.
20 For when ye were the servants of sin, ye were free from righteousness.
21 What fruit had ye then in those things whereof ye are now ashamed? for the end of those things is death.
22 But now being made free from sin, and become servants to God, ye have your fruit unto holiness, and the end everlasting life.
23 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord

@Stewardofthemystery do you have anything to say concerning. Sin that doesn’t lead to death?

“Everyone who believes that Jesus is the Christ has been born of God, and everyone who loves the Father loves whoever has been born of him. By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God and obey his commandments. For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments. And his commandments are not burdensome. For everyone who has been born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world—our faith. Who is it that overcomes the world except the one who believes that Jesus is the Son of God? This is he who came by water and blood—Jesus Christ; not by the water only but by the water and the blood. And the Spirit is the one who testifies, because the Spirit is the truth. For there are three that testify: the Spirit and the water and the blood; and these three agree. If we receive the testimony of men, the testimony of God is greater, for this is the testimony of God that he has borne concerning his Son. Whoever believes in the Son of God has the testimony in himself. Whoever does not believe God has made him a liar, because he has not believed in the testimony that God has borne concerning his Son. And this is the testimony, that God gave us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. Whoever has the Son has life; whoever does not have the Son of God does not have life. I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, that you may know that you have eternal life. And this is the confidence that we have toward him, that if we ask anything according to his will he hears us. And if we know that he hears us in whatever we ask, we know that we have the requests that we have asked of him. If anyone sees his brother committing a sin not leading to death, he shall ask, and God will give him life—to those who commit sins that do not lead to death. There is sin that leads to death; I do not say that one should pray for that. All wrongdoing is sin, but there is sin that does not lead to death.”

Which does not mean we can't sin, but we are no longer slaves to sin (practicing sin)- as we once walked.

If you are dead to sin and sin is truly put to death in you by the power of the Holy Spirit,

Sin is not put to death by the Holy Spirit.

Its the Old Man of Sin, who is Crucified with Christ, who is "dead".

The Holy Spirit, does not stop carnality......it walking in the Spirit, that keeps the born again from "fulfilling the LUST of the FLESH".

Notice that if the Holy Spirit had put THAT to death, then why would there be any LUST of the Flesh?

So, how to end that Lust of the Flesh?

You have to do this, reader....... "put on the Helmet of Salvation".

That is not a HOOD, or a Cap.........its revelation knowledge.

So, to Put on the Helmet of Salvation, is to read Hebrews 13:9, and do what it says to do with your HEART.

And what is that?
It means you have to stop trying to save yourself, and you have to stop doing anything to try to stay saved, as the reason you are doing that is because you really dont Trust in Christ, correctly, yet.
You have no Helmet, you only have your striving to try to not mess up and end up in Hell., and that is not Faint in Christ.. that is faith in yourself, and that is a FAIL.

And once you understand that you are free from all that, by God's Grace, that is found as Salvation IN Christ, then you are putting on the Helmet of Salvation, for the first time.

Those sins that are repented of do not lead to death.

So, you said that the Holy Spirit puts all that to death, and i showed you He doesn't, and now you've posted a verse that says that YOU are to put those deeds, that LUST, to death.

Yet, your Thread stated that the Holy Spirit does that....

So, as i said, you posted a fine bumper sticker, but you can't explain it, and what that does, is NOTHING, other then takes up space and tries to "sound spiritual".

Listen, dont post, what you can't explain, and call it a Thread.
As that is just playing around on the forum.

See, Christianity, is REAL, and Christians, need something real, and not just so many people, posting verses, concepts, opinion, and then can't explain them.

It is “through the Spirit” we put to death sin in our lives.
