The Bible is the spirit of Christ, that’s plenty good reason to put your faith in the Bible.
Okay. That's not even what the bible states though is it... The letter to the Hebrews says it's impossible to please God but by faith. That "He" exists. I agree with you that you are able to trust the bible. I love the fact it is even in existence. Thank you for your comment IndianaRob.
People can believe how they will, or view it how they will, but I am thankful we have one.
How would we know about Jesus, his death, and his resurrection if not for the Bible?
I guess you wouldn't. You would just have faith that a God that created all things existed and found out after death, if you followed the holy spirit which is given to those who have faith, in someone greater than themselves having created all things they see... and they love God and love others...
What about all the countless Indians that were slain when people colonized over here in America. Did they not get a chance to believe it something greater than them, though they did odd things?
How would we know about God, His character and attributes without the Bible?
Are you unable to find death, and resurrection in the aspect of nature? Trees die in the winter, and come back to life, in the spring? Is there anyway to find beautiful of life through the aspects of the natural realm? And think of someone greater than themselves, and they love God and love others? It's faith which people have pleased God by their faith.
Or is it do you need to read the bible in order to even be "chosen" to be saved?
How would we know what is true or not without the Bible?
Shoot, I can't even prove that God exist. Are you able to prove that God exist, or is it your faith that God exist which keeps you humble before him?
How could we test the spirits without comparing and contrasting it against the Bible?
Is the like a technically in order to judge people whether or not they believe or something? They have to confess something in order to be saved exactly? What about those who never even had a bible to begin with.
The Bible is a guidebook; it is our standard. If we can't trust it, then what as Christians can we trust?
It's a spiritual map, for people to figure out where they are in their relationship with Yahavah/God. That is my perspective.
God has chosen the written word to convey His message to us. He wrote down the ten commandments on stone tablets. He told Moses to write down His words (Exo 17:14, 24:4, 34:27-28). Jesus himself quoted from what to us now is the Old Testament. 2 Timothy 3:16-17 says: "All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work."
Those ten commandments were given to the nation of Israel, nor America or anything. Yes, I do believe that the bible is useful.
So don't please I hope you aren't getting it twisted or anything. I am adamant of people seeking out and using their bibles, not that it's not useful.
The question simply is "why do people say you have to place faith in the bible."
That's now what the passage in hebrews says, (Hebrews 11:6) It's faith in believing that God even exists that pleases him, and most people who assume that one day they will die and pass on and see something way more than themselves, they will be resurrected and find out who it was who gave them the Holy spirit, that would've been Jesus and they will figure out then... Ya know?
Does these comments make sense or are they just abunch of garbage cause I would really like to know from both of you.
