That's convenient.
Who created hell? And for what purpose?
What does that say about the character of God?

[
It says that God is everyone's divine Creator-Judge, the perfect God of justice, who rightly condemns everyone for our rebellion against him. The only escape route by way of the Judge's not-guilty verdict was paved by Jesus' death and resurrection.

There is no literal eternal suffering, only blind guides teach it as literal. It was symbolism. Only a sadistic hateful reject would create a literal eternal suffering. The true God= Love, merciful, slow to anger. His 4 main attributes=Love, wisdom, power and justice.
He taught us all his perfect justice= an eye for an eye=perfect balance on Gods justice scales. Lets apply those scales to a literal eternal suffering
On one side = 70-100 years of an unrepented life--On the other side= trillions x trillions x trillions, etc of never ending years of punishment.
See any balance= No--Its an eye for a gazillion eyes. Not the true God who has a literal eternal suffering. Its a teaching by blind guides that do not know God--RUN FROM THEM, they are 2Cor 11:12-15)
@Keiw, how can you tell that the passages about eternal suffering are symbolic? In the Gospel of Matthew, Jesus tells several times of a place where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth. Isn't his description literal of suffering because of God's justice??
Mat_8:12 while the sons of the kingdom will be thrown into the outer darkness. In that place there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.”
Mat_13:42 and throw them into the fiery furnace. In that place there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.
Mat_13:50 and throw them into the fiery furnace. In that place there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.
Mat_22:13 Then the king said to the attendants, ‘Bind him hand and foot and cast him into the outer darkness. In that place there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.’
Mat_24:51 and will cut him in pieces and put him with the hypocrites. In that place there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.
Mat_25:30 And cast the worthless servant into the outer darkness. In that place there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.’

John 3:16-- God sent his son so those exercising faith in him might not be destroyed;
Jesus teaches- those who walk the broad and spacious path to destruction.
One will be destroyed in the lake of fire= the second death = permanent death. There is no life in death.

I think perhaps it says more about the character of the people in churches.
Agree.

Although the church has used fear tactics to control those people.
And few have had the character or courage to stand against it.
Many atheists have come out of the church. A quality export. - LOL

There's a lot of hurting people who still believe in God, but don't feel they can be part of "the Body" because of how they are judged there.
And "a lot" is right. A lot of hurting people.

This is the tragedy of the church. Those who have been marginalized
because they didn't meet up to the standard of the church.

Rather than find ways to minister to these hurting souls, they were
jettisoned back into the world to fend for themselves.

The bible has already judged the difference between one who is righteous or one who is wicked in Gods view. Guilt would make one feel judged, It doesn't mean others are judging you, but they do expect a servant of Jesus to live up to certain standards.

The symbolism taught in the bible on eternal suffering is the following.
As each new day dawns in Gods kingdom, those not allowed in miss each day, miss each day of Gods love, it never ends, likened to be an eternal suffering. Those traded 70 -100 years of a sinful existence and miss out on trillions x trillions x trillions, etc of never ending years in Gods kingdom. One cannot make a worst choice ever. Most are mislead into those choices.

Horse hockey.

The Bible has a lot to say about judging each other... mostly it's "don't" but it happens and it's about what people say and how they act. There are many people in churches whose purpose in attending is so they can feel "holier than thou."

What sort of monster would create such a thing? The most sadist tyrant imaginable.

How does it work and what is the purpose?
There is no purpose other than eternal torment on the grandest scale.

That's not the end. God has created this lake of fire so that you cannot die.
You will endure this torture with no hope of escape.

Your flesh will be burned away only to be replaced with fresh flesh to be burned again …

What are you talking about?

Eternally LIVING PEOPLE are NOT IN Hell, are NOT SENT TO Hell.

People condemn other people to hell not God we were all already condemned to hell in the fall.The condemned condemning the condemned. God does not have to send anyone to hell everyone already has a first class ticket to hell or did you not know that..God is offering a way out in Christ if you would only listen.

Who created hell?
And for what purpose?

You seem to want to separate hell from God.
As if he had nothing to do with it.
Thus whitewashing hell.

What's the point then?

[
Regarding Humans;
Division…
Separation…
With God…ETERNALLY LIVING
WithOUT God…destroyed…remembered no more….NOT ETERNALLY Living.

Regarding Angels;
Together…
Division…
Separation…
With God ETERNALLY LIVING
WithOUT God ETERNALLY LIVING

* God IS a SPIRIT
* Angels ARE Celestial created spirits, that Can NOT DIE.
* Humans ARE Terrestrial beings that HAVE A spirit, that DIES with their Body.

What exactly “regarding” terrestrial Humans do you THINK is ever Sent to Hell or Thrown in the Lake of Fire?
