Why draw such conclusions at all about another person? What do you think the Apostle Paul meant by this? After several attempts and observation of your postings, it's my conclusion you deny the future resurrection of the dead in Christ
"Clearly teaches"? Did that come from something you learned from others, or from your own logical mind? Do you suppose that the most intelligent [highest I.Q.] people and the best students [honor rolls in secular schools] are also always the closest to God? Consider the following NT and OT verses:As 1 Corinthians Chapter 15 clearly teaches, Yes Jesus Christ was physically resurrected and maintained a "Literal" physical body of flesh and bone, he was the "First Fruits" of the resurrection, and at his return the dead in Christ will experience this same Literal "Resurrection" as Jesus Christ, into a "Literal" body of Flesh and Bone
You might want to check out Exodus, chapters 19 and 20, to find the earliest mention of the trumpet and its use.Happytrails thank you for sharing. Interesting information. One of the first trumpets heard was by John with someone speaking to him a voice as a trumpet.
“After these things I saw, and lo, a door opened in the heaven, and the first voice that I heard [is] as of a trumpet speaking with me, saying, ‘Come up hither, and I will shew thee what it behoveth to come to pass after these things;’”
Revelation 4:1 YLT98
Lest I repeat myself please read the following post with regard to "future" and "literal":NO, that is NOT The Second Coming of Jesus Christ! This is a LITERAL Return of Jesus Christ which every eye will see, the SAME way that He LITERALLY Ascended to Heaven after His Death and Resurrection:
Who sees what when?Acts chapter 1
9 And when he had said these things, as they were looking, he was taken up; and a cloud received him out of their sight. 10 And while they were looking stedfastly into heaven as he went, behold two men stood by them in white apparel; 11 who also said, Ye men of Galilee, why stand ye looking into heaven? this Jesus, who was received up from you into heaven shall so come in like manner as ye beheld him going into heaven.
Search and pray in the Spirit being led by the Spirit! Many people still do, @amadeus.
However to gather all of this information for an individual self study for those out there ponder the question. My encouragement for them is to search for the answer through the scripture.
:)
God bless.
You are very welcome Matt, you too as well sir for starting the conversation point.Thank you sharing.
Sheesh,,, what kind of hope am I giving to them anyway.
We've been promised more than Spiritual resurrection, we've been promised that our bodies will be make like His also. And we've been told that those who are trusting in this truth purify themselves.Being born again is a resurrection from the dead! If we have been born again, we were dead in the eyes of God, but now we have resurrected... we have already received the Life more abundantly which Jesus came to bring. Has it already begun or do wait for another time and another place?
"And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die. Believest thou this?" John 1126
He didn't say that though. So this does not negate my faith. Why would you believe in Jesus who said he would return to that generation then…
Physical resurrection, yes? That hope is indeed noted here on earth while living. That one day you will die and be resurrected given your spiritual body given by God.
See if Jesus did not come back to gather his bride like he said was going to as scripture indicated isn’t he just a liar!?
Matthew 24:34
The Bible must be a liar then, isn’t this truth? It doesn’t matter if it negates your faith or not.
You say no? Why? Was Jesus being honest here?
how can you have it your way and Jesus way?
Why not leave it to me to say what I want and don't want? You wanna tell me jesus is lying though I can’t really trust you either then…
you believe Matthew 24:34 is a lie
What is all this about the Bible being a liar? Let's dial this down, shall we?
Of course it's truth.
Matthew 24:27-31 KJV
27) For as the lightning cometh out of the east, and shineth even unto the west; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.
28) For wheresoever the carcase is, there will the eagles be gathered together.
29) Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken:
30) And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.
31) And he shall send his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.
These things will indeed happen. "All the tribes of the earth" . . . "shall see the Son of Man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory".
Every eye will see Him.
Matthew 24:34 KJV
34) Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass, till all these things be fulfilled.
"generation" here can mean: All born at a certain time. All alive at a certain time. All who are born from a certain group.
Matthew 24:21-22 KJV
21) For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be.
22) And except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved: but for the elect's sake those days shall be shortened.
Jesus promised that humanity would not be allowed to be completely destroy for the sake of the "chosen". Israel was of course the chosen nation from among the rest, so there was the chosen nation, and the gentiles - all the rest.
Having prophesied the preservation of the Jews, Jesus doubles down on that promise,
"this generation shall not pass" until all be fulfilled. The Jews shall not be completely destroyed before Jesus comes to put a stop to the killing.
No, the Bible is not a liar, and Jesus will come to end the great tribulation and rescue His people.
Zechariah 13:7-9 KJV
7) Awake, O sword, against my shepherd, and against the man that is my fellow, saith the LORD of hosts: smite the shepherd, and the sheep shall be scattered: and I will turn mine hand upon the little ones.
8) And it shall come to pass, that in all the land, saith the LORD, two parts therein shall be cut off and die; but the third shall be left therein.
9) And I will bring the third part through the fire, and will refine them as silver is refined, and will try them as gold is tried: they shall call on my name, and I will hear them: I will say, It is my people: and they shall say, The LORD is my God.
Jesus will rescue His remnant of Isreal by His timely return.
Much love!
Is that how you see me?It takes away the excitement of watching Jesus come through the clouds and starting to send lighting bolts down and earthquakes and famine upon the land of America while good boys and girls go on raptured up to heaven and everyone else gets sent to hell… people like it, edge of your seat worthy drama.
I just did in the post you were replying to.If you wanna share with me what you believe Jesus meant in a generation you may.
May God richly bless you my friend. What I want is to please God. I will be content with any blessing He wants to offer. We've been promised more than Spiritual resurrection, we've been promised that our bodies will be make like His also. And we've been told that those who are trusting in this truth purify themselves.
So having the hope of full redemption when Jesus returns visibly is important to us today towards living pleasing lives.
Much love!

I cannot focus right now. My wife is sick in bed and the burden of our physical move this Friday is almost overwhelming me. Thank God for caring children and grandchildren.
