And how does one go to God?
= THE CROSS...
You know......that "whipping boy" nonsense, as you described it, Episkopos.
"
A compromise with the flesh is a compromise of light and darkness. One does not justify the flesh. One goes to God to have it crucified. That is the pathway to the higher walk. That is the truth that sets us free." - Episkopos
Whoever does not take up their cross and follow me is not worthy of me. (Jesus Christ as quoted by Matthew 10:38)
Whipping boy nonsense?
Know this that
the blood shed by Christ is for God. The cross is for us.
There is no simpler way to describe the normal life of one who is justified before God.
If we do not take up the cross, meaning that which God has laid upon us, then we aren't following Him - not worthy of Him as Jesus said.
For instance, if a man loves a woman with deep devotion and God tells that man to turn away from that woman and to put her out of his life, then that man MUST act upon God's command. If that man does not, then God may remove protections and blessings from that man and allow that man to go his own way to possible dishonor, defeat and destruction. Again: if God commands a man to NOT love another man, then that man is required to honor God and put the other man out of his mind and his life.
Those who follow Christ are admonished to love others, but we can't love others (if you know what I mean).
When God speaks to us we are expected to honor and act upon that which He has spoken.
If we refuse to ACT upon that which He has spoken, to carry our cross so to speak, then He may speak no more. He may speak no more to us because there's nothing for Him to talk about since we refuse to listen and ACT upon His words.
Whipping boy nonsense?
You've condemned yourself by your own words. (Acts 13:46b) You judge yourself unworthy of grace to be saved by your refusal to comply with God's LAW, God's commands, God's Word to 'take up your cross and follow Christ' to BE a whipping boy for Jesus.
The righteous do not judge SINNERS because it is SINNERS who judge themselves. (John 3:19)
If we do not embrace this 'whipping boy nonsense' we are not worthy to be saved and God will allow us to DIE like any sick dog or cockroach.
Surely the fate of human beings is like that of the animals; the same fate awaits them both: As one dies, so dies the other. All have the same breath; humans have no advantage over animals. Everything is meaningless. (Ecclesiastes 3:19)
There is no hell. There is only DEATH (Romans 6:23) for those who have not received the Second Birth by the blood and SHOW IT by the cross.
but God is not concerned about lavishing death and destruction upon the sons and daughters of man. He wants all to come to REPENTANCE that they may be saved......and that not of themselves but of that blood HE shed upon the cross for us. (Exodus 12)
Please read Exodus 12. It will give you an insight as to how faith and blood work so as to divert God's wrath away from us.
that's me, hollering from the choir loft...
