* Except for that one time when I was trying to read something quickly - not as quickly as I thought - at a stop light. *

Finished hen-picking for now, with a New Testament Book by a Pre-millennialist....

Off to another controversial book 'The Original New Testament' by Hugh Schonfield. I bought it used, hardcover edition for around $25, a year ago.

I don't know credible this author is, as he re-interprets and re-translated the New Testament in a radical way...as its loosely put subtitle

From my X / Twitter “For you” feed this evening -

“Don’t just read books, re-read books. What’s your favorite book to re-read?”

X / Twitter probably picked up on me talking about reading on this forum a little over an hour ago and ... voila.

Be that as it may, my favorite book to re-read is the Bible.

If I take the Bible out of the equation, the question suddenly becomes a difficult one for me to answer.

“If you were abandoned on an island, and could have only one OT book and one NT book, which would you choose and why?”

(SeanMcDowell)

From the OT, I would choose Psalms; the hymnal of the Hebrews contains everything I would need to survive and thrive spiritually.

From the NT, I would choose Luke; the words of Jesus are spirit and life. Of the four gospels, Luke is the one which I enjoy reading the most.

However, I would try to negotiate a deal with whoever the fiend is who is abandoning me on the island. -> Abandon me on an island that has a Christian bookstore and I’ll pay for the food and gas.

I brought a book titled, "The most embarrassing verse in the Bible," written by a person with letters after his name, and after reading this book I have come to the conclusion that the author has penned, "The Most Embarrassing Book on the Bible." IMHO even a WPB would reject the book being stashed within its confines.

Read widely, deeply, thoughtfully and critically. It seems to me that you‘ve done that.
