What books are you currently reading?

I’m currently reading Sinners in the Hands of an Angry God, a sermon given by Jonathan Edwards (on July 8, 1741).

That’s not at all what I had planned to read next but something unexpected came up. A good example of meeting people where they are.

I’m currently reading Created Equal: The Painful Past, Confusing Present and Hopeful Future Of Race In America , written by Dr. Ben Carson, M.D.

How are you holding up?

Thanks, @Simonides. I'm holding up all right, though I can't seem to get motivated to do some of the things that need to be done. My wife will have episodes where the sadness will hit her, and then all I can do is just hold her.

I’m currently reading Heretic: Jesus Christ and the Other Sons of God, written by Catherine Nixey.

I’m off track on what I had planned to read this year, not that there’s anything wrong with that.

Having finished reading Heretics (post #614), I’m currently reading the Protoevangelium of James (aka The Gospel of James) which was discussed in that book. Dating to the 2nd century, it is the earliest surviving assertion of the perpetual virginity of Mary; it was condemned by Pope Innocent I (in 405). The author is unknown.

I’m currently reading On the Flesh of Christ, written by Tertullian.

Lingering briefly with Tertullian before turning to something I had planned to read this year, I’m currently reading The Soul’s Testimony.

Well, ok Matthias, I'm currently reading the : 'The Book of Revelation' Commentary by Duncan Heaster, a Christadelphian.

I'm not hyper-futuristic as he may be on the subject, as I'm more neo-preterist, primarily focused on 60- 70 AD and with principles and methods used or applied as for Jerusalem in the 1st century, for the future generations as well, where Rev 20 'hits' with Gog/Magog front and center, on a more global scale.

Besides my Bible and a few morning devotional books i am starting on "War" by Bob Woodward.

I’m currently reading a book that has been on my reading list for over ten years, and the one I had planned to start this year with: Texts That Linger, Words That Explode, written by Walter Brueggemann.
