Was going to watch it until I saw "Chris Matthews" and realized that it would be absent of both facts and value.

Still, I hope it gave him a thrill up his leg.

Thanks anyway, though.

Not having convicts (without restored civil rights) and non-citizens vote will definitely help Romney. That is not news.

Why should someone who cannot prove who they are be allowed to vote in an election? This should have been dealt with long before the election year, though. After November nobody will care about the integrity of elections until it comes up next time.

Why are so few members of our military requesting absentee ballots this year? Did the Pentagon forget to get the word out to members of the military for some reason? The numbers are vastly and dramatically lower. What accounts for that? The current administration wouldn't be trying to suppress the rights of U.S. citizens in the military to vote, now would they?

Somebody has a truth-telling problem.......

-- So if one political representative on the left said that not wanting voter ID laws was all about getting Obama re-elected, that would be proof to you that is the only reason people are fighting against voter ID laws nationwide? lol Oh, please.....

PS - Could have sworn you were "done with politics."
Can you please stick to something?

Why do we seem to haveeemingly estute men in this counbtry being given video time to express their ideas on a defunct voting system, as thou it is valid?

With a secret ballot aslo come the ease of distorting what the actual votes are, as the vote counters are in much more control than the voters and those that control the vote counters are in even more control.

With an electorial college allowed to do the actual voitng AND the above input, voting here in USA is contemptable corruption.

Notice how the news companies get just as inthrawled in this corruption, putting in their corrupted ideas, even unto altering (editing)
their news casts to propel their desierd outcome.

Everyone believing in this voting system is believing in corruption.

Cast you "vote" in prayer that a righteous man is elected... if that is achieved... there would be an empty seat at the whilehouse until Jesus returns.

I bet Shawn Hannity, O'Liery and Limbaugh are your hero's!

-- Your grammatical challenges aside, one does not have to support the far right in order to think that Chris Matthews is a bit unhinged.

Matthews claimed after the last debate that it is Unconstitutional to criticize the President, which is absolutely ridiculous.

He also enjoys calling anyone and everyone that disagrees with the President as 'racist.'
He even said that mentioning "Chicago" is racist.

Chris Matthews: 'Racial hatred' drives support for Romney on right

http://thehill.com/b...ium=twitterfeed

"Liberal pundit Chris Matthews explained Mitt Romney's support among conservatives, despite the candidate shifting toward the center on a number of issues, as a product of "racial hatred."

Speaking after Thursday night's debate on MSNBC, Matthews accused Romney of "pulling back" from many of the foreign policy positions he had taken during the primary. When host Rachel Maddow wondered why Romney might be "reversing himself" from his stated positions during the primary and whether that could dampen his support among his conservative base, Matthews dismissed such a possibility.

"I think they hate Obama. They want him out of the White House more than they want to destroy al Qaeda. Their No. 1 enemy in the world right now, on the right, is their hatred, hatred for Obama. And we can go into that about the white working class in the South and looking at these numbers we're getting the last couple days about racial hatred in many cases … this isn't about being a better president, they want to get rid of this president," he said.
Matthews also dismissed Romney's position on potentially taking military action against Iran if the nation acquires nuclear weapon capabilities.
"Any jackass can talk about bombing Iran, but they never talk about the consequences," he said."

-- So basically, he is saying that white Republicans who want Welfare reform, oppose ObamaCare, oppose addition to the Deficit, etc. would still vote for the Democrat over the Republican candidate.....if he was White.

He forgets that a huge number of those "racists" voted FOR Mr. Obama in 2008.

And the name he called Romney in the very last line. He would become apoplectic if someone - anyone - called Mr. Obama that.
He uses language like that, yet still calls himself an actual journalist and not just a commentator.

too bad the voter ID laws will not be enough to put Romney into office - perhaps Republicans can come up with one more desperate measure before it is too late?

Of course Republicans wanted Obama to fail! Obama's plan and desire was to move America towards a European style Social State. That is antithetical to Conservative and Republican views on America.

Is your opinion based on our deregulated (failing) airlines? Deregulated energy (nice job freemarket, Enron)? Deregulated post office (bleeding money)? Deregulated telecommunications (not cheaper, but worse quality), perhaps? How about deregulated trucking? How about our deregulated food safety and financial institutions........

Yeah Andy - America's living behind Obama's iron curtain......

All of those examples are at least a decade old... are you on dial up or what ;)

It is a pattern of 30 years of deregulation in our country. It shows that we are moving in the opposite direction of Socialism.

-- I have been saying that Mr. Obama is going to win for the last six months on this board.
Even before you dishonestly stated you were "done with politics," deleted the political comments on the bottom of your screen, and then turned around started spouting politics again, showing that - again - keeping your word can be a challenge.

(Remember when you gave your farewell from this board stating that God told you to quit doing it and move on......only to return a few days later as if nothing happened?)

America has turned their back on God far too long and far too completely. America has earned Mr. Obama.

-- lol Nope, they aren't my heroes. And dude, it's "heroes," not "hero's." "Hero's" is singular possessive.
NEVER listen to Limbaugh.
NEVER watch Hannity.
I do watch O'Reilly about once every week or so. Probably less than you do.
Am simply not a big fan of TV in general.

But even if watched them religiously ever single night, that wouldn't alter the fact that Matthews is a loon.
You ignored my sourced examples, but they are proof none the less.

And every political party that is not in power wants to see the President from the other party fail. It has always been that way.
Are you really "shocked to find that gambling is going on here?"

Ancient history. Meanwhile,
- ObamaCare is the first step in single-payor, gov't run healthcare affecting every single American.
- Mr. Obama signed into law the right for the US gov't to arrest and indefinitely detain ANY American without charges or access to legal counsel.
- The EPA is running rampant with new laws and regulations that are being imposed without oversight or congressional approval.
- Americans on the gov't dole has increased by 34% in less than four years.
And I'm not even going to start on Homeland Security and their massive growth and invasiveness

Those are just off the top of my very tired head (jet lag).
And you haven't seen anything yet. Mark my words. Even you will be taken aback by what Obama does in his second term.

Ancient history........really? So all of the industries I mentioned have been regulated again? How is it ancient history if they are still deregulated? Is Obama's presidency 'ancient history' too? After all, he was elected almost four years ago........

All you are doing is speculating on the slippery slope in your mind - I actually provided solid examples.

Now, go take care of that jet lag, you hear?

-- Poor Aspen. You always resort to the 4th grader defense.
You gave examples of what America has done in the past to move to a more open society and economy.
I gave just a few concrete of the many concrete examples showing that things have changed and America is now moving in the other direction.
Please grow up.

Colorado finds 300 more suspected noncitizens on voter rolls

Published October 23, 2012
Associated Press

DENVER – There are 300 more suspected noncitizens on Colorado's voter rolls, Secretary of State Gessler announced Tuesday in the latest chapter of a contentious national debate over what Republicans say is vulnerability in the voting system.
The latest figures are from the 3,903 people who received letters from Gessler's office questioning their citizenship in August. During a first round of checks, Gessler said 141 others were found to be possible noncitizens based on a federal immigration database.
Critics of Gessler, who is a Republican, have questioned his political motives and argue the checks have the potential to disenfranchise eligible voters. Some of the people who have received letters questioning their citizenship have turned out to be U.S. citizens, and a few of the original 141 have maintained they are citizens.
The majority of the people who are suspected to be noncitizens and on the rolls are unaffiliated voters, which make up more than half, and Democrats, according to data provided by Gessler's office. The proportion in party registration breakdown is similar to the overall number of people who received letters in August.
State election officials did additional checks this month after obtaining immigration identification numbers from the state division of motor vehicles for all of people who received letters. They received letters because at one point they showed proof they weren't U.S. citizens, such as a green card, when obtaining a driver's license.
The latest figures mean that out of the 3,903 who received letters, 441 are believed to be non-citizens, according to the federal database, which has normally been used to check the status of legal immigrants who receive government benefits.
"It's unacceptable to have ineligible voters casting ballots in our elections," Gessler said. "We want to ensure the most accurate reliable elections possible."
Gessler's office said it has mailed letters to people believed to be ineligible voters, alerting them about the database findings so they can verify their citizenship or voluntarily remove their registrations.
Of the 441 identified as suspected noncitizens, 232 are unaffiliated, 163 are Democrats, and 37 are Republican. Gessler's office has said they did not look at party registration when checking the voter rolls for possible fraud.
Swing states, like Colorado and Florida, have gotten permission from the federal government to use the immigration database to check voter rolls. Others battleground states, like Iowa and Ohio, have also asked for permission to use the database.
Gessler and other Republican election chiefs in those states have come under heavy criticism from Democrats and voter advocacy groups, who question their political motives in a presidential election that polls show will be extremely close.
"It's suspiciously close to the election for someone who has been so partisan for this kind behavior," said Ellen Dumm, a consultant working for voting rights in Colorado.
Dumm said everyone agrees ineligible voters shouldn't cast ballots. But she argued that Gessler should focus on more important issues, like making sure the secretary of state's office website functions properly to allow people to register to vote, and coordinating with clerks on election issues before November. She said the 441 figure amounts to a "rounding error" in the greater scheme, considering there are 3.5 million registered voters in Colorado.
Gessler has forwarded the names of the suspected noncitizens, 441 in all, to county clerks for any potential challenge at the polls if they show up to cast ballots.
"Though the timing is not ideal, I felt it was important to alert these voters that the federal government says they're not citizens," Gessler said in a written statement. He also sent a letter to U.S. Attorney John Walsh in Denver on Tuesday, letting him know of the figures, telling him that many of the voters believed to be noncitizens would appear on voter rolls across the state.
Walsh announced this month that was appointing a prosecutor to look into any voter fraud in the upcoming election.

We are hearing in my state that voting early is a scam. And that it is best to vote on the DAY of Voting. Also, since Holder contested our Voter ID law and it is now on hold, there were news reports last night that people are boldly handing out voter registration cards (you need either these or your license) at the polling places!! They are just giving them to people and saying, "Here, use this one". The registration cards are probably from deceased people or sick parents or friends. But, the surprising thing is that they are handing them out AT THE POLLING PLACES, because obviously they feel protected. There is no accountability or enforcement of law.

These are the kinds of things that cause votes not to matter.

I see that many around the country are calling for paper ballots once again. Since a 3rd party foreign country is now owner of voting machines in at least 50% of the states. All results go through them before they are released to the public. Hmmm, that's interesting...

The "World System" is living up to it's reputation of being totally corrupt.

This is an interesting argument and I'm curious about how the two main contending point of views understand our political system. The government of the United States was initially formed not as a strict Democracy, but as a democratic Republic with "representative" government. The earliest elected officials were all members of a "privelaged class" of sorts, having wealth accumulated through agrarian land ownership, commerce and trade, or manufacturing. Is the average person informed sufficiently to make sound judgments that affect the lives of his neighbors? In the past we've seen such things as Jim Crow laws which were apparently intended to prevent large segments of the population from voting, while unfair to those segments of the population, were they a good idea or an evil one? I'm not a historian, but I was taught that the only pure democracies of the past failed because the citizens voted themselves entitlements which bankrupted their governments. Was this propaganda? Given the sin nature of man I'm inclined to believe the former rather than the latter.
The notion of an educated elite making decisions for the general population is somewhat repugnant to me, but would make sense to the degree that such a class were spiritual (and this would seem to be the case in the kingdom of Christ to come in it's fullness.) Again, given the base nature of man in his fallen state, such a system also creates gross inequalities. I think that the USSR was a good modern example of such a system, but it seems as if there are those in our own society that are comfortable with the same concepts.
I've heard the term "statist" used to define the belief that individuals exist (in the context of community) to support the "state," and that the ultimate good for the people is expressed in the absolute rule of the state. I'm convinced that men have a built in desire for freedom which runs contrary to statism, and is what might be considered little more than self determinism. Biblical Christianity on the other hand, places an emphasis on freedom in the context of a framework of rules created by God for our own benefit. The sin nature rebels against rules or laws as restrictive, but the Spirit of "Sonship" or adoption rejoices in the freedom to pursue what is "good."
I don't see a possiblity for a perfect form of government prior to the return of our Lord, but the immediate concern would appear to be "just where is our nation (and the world) headed" in this regard? At least some of the founders of our nation believed that the success of our government was predicated upon a belief in and fear of our God. if we give weight to their belief, does a nation that places more value on "reproductive rights" than on the right to live have a hope of survival?
These things may seem a little off topic, but most of the discussion here seems concerned with "rights." Before you can have such a discussion, you have to make some sort of determination on the source of such rights; that is, are they a gift of God or socially determined by those in power. If they are indeed a gift of God, it seems prudent to understand God's will and doesn't it seem peculiar that the only reliable source of information pertaining to the will of God, the Holy Scriptures, are in the process of being removed from public discourse?
Some people recognize that there are serious problems with the direction of our nation and of the world, but not understanding the causes and effects, they arise at the conclusion that revolution is the answer. However, it seems that revival of the nation is our only real hope. If this is the case, then clearly God must work through His people to bring it to pass. This leaves us with only one real question: what is our part in it?
